    Kitchen Sink Pizza
    Raven L.

One of our favorite spots in Floyd! Super attentive & friendly staff, food always on point, great rotating selection of beer. Definitely recommend their pizza, the kitchen sink is my fave. A hot spot with the locals, can definitely bring a full house with live music, expect a semi loud experience even without entertainment.

We were in town recently and had a late lunch here. A large place with seating inside and out, with a large stage on one end. A pizza kitchen on the left as you walk in and a long bar on the right. We were greeted shortly after walking in, within a couple minutes. There were only a few people when we entered, but it filled up quickly by the time we left. Our server who also sat us, had menu in hand with plates, cutlery and napkins. She returned a few minutes later and took our drink orders along with an appetizer. We started with the pretzel with marinara and spicy mustard. It was fresh baked and deliciously good. A nice consistency with just enough course salt, and both dipping sauces had their own unique twists with the pretzel. A good start. After giving the menu a good review. we opted for the build your own pizza with marinara sauce, mushrooms, banana peppers, black olives, artichoke hearts and fresh mozzarella. It was a pretty good pie, a nice thin crust with good char from the oven, decent toppings but a little thin of ingredients considering the size and cost of the pie. It did not really look like any marinara sauce was used or if it was it was only a couple tablespoons. Same on the other ingredients. Only a couple artichoke hearts chopped up, along with I don't believe would amount to more than a single banana pepper chopped up in total. Again the flavor was good, but the scrimping on toppings it felt a little short changed for the price paid. We ordered the baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, a 6" round cast iron skillet with a freshly baked cookie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Its a good dessert and enough to split with another person. It was however a bit pricey, at over $11. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the service, she was kind, friendly and professional 01088

We have eaten at Dogtown many, many times through the years. This past experience wasn't the greatest I'm sad to say. It was a normal sized crowd when we arrived, and we were seated immediately. We ordered waters and my husband ordered a beer. Drinks came quickly but that was the only water we had. At one point I gave up and refilled our waters myself with a pitcher from the servers station. We perused the menu even though we knew what we wanted. I'd just like to say it may be time to put some money into new menus. They were both so dirty, not especially appetizing. I had the smash burger a few months ago and loved it so we both knew what we were having. The burger (and fries) were tasty but the patty was incredibly small. Tiny!!! Very disappointing, especially since we were headed to music later and wouldn't get an opportunity to eat anything else for some time. We will be back. We have a vacation home nearby so we are in Floyd frequently. That being said we really miss the great service and vibe we have grown accustomed to. Maybe it was just an off day....

Haven't been here in quite some time, no particular reason, just haven't ventured to Floyd. Pizza consistent and flavorful; lively environment with unique music, love the nostalgia. Jay is friendly and efficient, quick with preparing drinks - Cheers!

I came here for a rehearsal dinner and it exceeded my expectations! We had a group of 20-30 people so we ordered our food in advance and everything was ready for us almost immediately. The service was great too! As some of our pizzas were finished the staff was really quick to replace them with a new, fresh, hot pizza. They were also very attentive and periodically came by to make sure we had everything we needed. I really loved the set up too. They had a pretty large stage with amazing live artists. I would definitely come back!

I cannot believe I grew up in Blacksburg and have never eaten here until the other day. This place was so delicious and a lot of fun. They have a wood fired oven and the pizza was so so good. They did not skimp on the cheese which is always a plus for me. Sometimes with wood fired pizza ovens, the crust can become a little too charred for me but that didn't happen here & the crust had a great flavor. I was here for a wedding rehearsal dinner so I got to try a few different pizzas but I think the classic cheese was my favorite. I also tried one with banana peppers and bacon which was really delicious. Their pizza menu has so many unique options though so I can't wait to go back and try some new ones. They also have a nice variety of beers and live music! This place was completely packed but the service was still great so I was really impressed. Parking can be a little difficult because it's street parking but there are a ton of street parking spots. Since I was there for a rehearsal dinner, we were able to reserve some tables ahead of time & make sure our pizzas were ready by the time we arrived, but I know otherwise we would have had to wait quite a while since it was so packed - it's definitely worth the wait though. Absolutely recommend for delicious pizza and great beer and music!

Holy guacamole were we impressed by this little pizza restaurant in Floyd. If you've been to Floyd or the surrounding area you know there isn't a whole lot to choose from or really any food in the area that is top notch, well dogtown took the award for the best place in Floyd. We had been told from multiple people to check it out when we go up for the weekend to visit so we finally got around to trying it out yesterday. We went about 12 pm on a Saturday which was fine there wasn't a whole lot of people there and we didn't have to wait but around 1 it became really busy with a line out the door. Granted we did go up the weekend that all the fall leaves were at peak color so the whole town was busy. On to the food, I was blown away by the garlic knots. I wish I had some now to eat. They had huge chunks of garlic on top and were nice and warm and the dough was very fresh. The pizza was just your typical pizza cooked in a wood fire oven but still very good for the small town of Floyd. Needless to say I cannot wait to go back (mainly for the garlic knots) but next time I will step outside the box and try a different pizza. We always play it safe when we go to a new restaurant and order something we know we will like but this isn't a restaurant you have to play it safe at, the flavor is PHENOMENAL! Way to go Floyd, VA & Dogtown

Does the Doghouse broadcast football games?

Yes! We always sit at the bar and they will gladly change the channel! That's the best play to watch the games. I don't find that it's a huge football scene most people are families and sit at tables.

Please do not patronize Creek Bottom Brewing…read more It is not a safe place for women or children. Creek Bottom is at the center of a local controversy involving a young man named William Ayers. In 2023, Ayers was convicted of child rape (carnal knowledge of a child) and abduction. He was released from prison last year, back into our community. Upon his release, Creek Bottom Brewing began employing him to work in the brewery--as a known convicted child sex offender. In February, while working for Creek Bottom, Ayers was arrested AGAIN for ANOTHER sexual assault, strangulation, brandishing a firearm, and abduction by force. It got a little media attention as the "Valentine's Day Rape." Recently added to his list of charges is possession of child porn and sexual abuse of an animal. Where does Creek Bottom come in, beyond offering a job to a known child sex offender? William Ayers' parents are the owners of Creek Bottom. They made the choice to employ him at their brewery, along with their many young women employees and the families who visit the restaurant. Our dollars spent at the brewery unwittingly went directly towards Ayers' paycheck. Many community members feel that Creek Bottom's owners have made horrendous decisions that endanger our community by choosing to have their son employed at the brewery, and by supporting/enabling him in other ways. It is readily apparent that Ayers' parents employ pricey high-powered out-of-town attorneys to defend their son from his charges. (Courtroom interactions between those attorneys and the father of William Ayers reinforce this, with the attorneys pulling Daddy Ayers aside for extended conferencing before making motions.) A couple of days ago, Ayers was offered bail set at $900,000. That means that if his supporters/enablers come up with a $90k bail bond agent fee, or $900k on their own, Ayers will AGAIN be released into our community. All of this is a matter of public record: past convictions, state sex offender registry that showed Ayers working at Creek Bottom until his latest arrest, ownership of Creek Bottom, recent charges, and ongoing court case with private legal defense. All members of our community can and should make their own INFORMED choices here. Sending your money in Creek Bottom's direction could literally help lead to this individual being released into our community once again. Endanger the wealth that is supporting him, and we may be able to make a real difference for community safety. Please don't unwittingly contribute to a William Ayers legal defense fund or to bailing him out to walk among us again. If you see fit, stand by us in this effort.

Bulls & Bones: Burgers, BBQ & Brewpub has a lot of "B" alliteration going on. I felt like a steak when I visited, so I went for it. I got the USDA Angus Sirloin, which comes with two sides (I chose steamed broccoli and fries). The steak and sides were good and simple, which was just what I was feeling like that night. I visited Bull & Bones with a group of people, and we ordered a few appetizers to share, so I got to taste some things on the menu. First of all, we got complimentary potato chips for the table. Sweet! We also ordered the fried pickles (not my thing, but people were going off on them). Also, we got two orders of the wings: one was boneless wings with buffalo sauce, and the other was regular bone-in wings with Caroline Gold sauce. My favorite were the wings with Carolina Gold sauce, because of the flavor. They were so savory and slightly sweet. For dessert, we got the warm cookie with two scoops of ice cream (yum!) and the blueberry lemon cake, which didn't look like much but tasted amazing. A little bit of dessert goes a long way, and I think you could get away with sharing a dessert, for sure. The ambiance at Bulls & Bones is casual. He seemed to genuinely care about us and our orders; extremely accommodating and polite. The place was rather nice inside too for a brewpub! As we sat down our table was given a small sample of their house made potato chips, they were pretty good, would've been even better in some ranch! With that, the main food: I got a Chicken Caesar wrap and added bacon, honestly it was pretty good. The chicken had good flavor, it was very filling, and adding the bacon stepped it up a notch. For the cons, I wish it would've had more Caesar dressing, and the portion for the price it felt a little smaller than I was expecting. Overall a hearty wrap! I also got the 4 cheese Mac for my side. I was so excited to try it because I've heard people rave about it, but it sort of fell flat for me. If you really like a super creamy mac n cheese this is for you! I just wish there would've been a bit more flavor, some depth, for a premium side I just don't think this did it for me. Overall, great service, cute place right outside the big mall area, but I think the food is a little more average than I was hoping for. If there was an option I'd say it lands more at a 3.5 than a 3. Then again, I only got the wrap and mac, and I know they are more known for the bbq and burgers at the moment, so give those a fair chance!
