We came here on a Saturday afternoon after a local resident recommended the breakfasts here. We were seated right away, and the restaurant was very clean with plenty of staff attending to us. I ordered a veggie omelette which was full of vegetables and very flavorful. My husband said the waffle he had was also very good. The chicken that came with the chicken and waffles appear to have fillers. Breakfast is served all day. Good portions.

Well worth the drive out there to eat. Quality food and service. They knock it out of the park each and every time the hub's and I go. Highly recommended. Five stars all the way.

Hanging out in Floyd and looking for a local spot for eats, come here for consistent food, thoughtful service, and very reasonable prices. The dining room is a typical diner, but what mead it for me was how even a diner like this was very accommodating for my severe food allergy (red meat). I didn't photo the food of my fellow guests, but the omelette was huge, the pancake giant, and the hash browns were more like large home made chips (heavenly).

It appears they stop new diners coming in about an hour before closing time, so be sure to make a reservation or call in to check before doing a walk-in. Our server was excellent. We have some jokesters in our group, and he joked right back at us with a sense of humor. That said, he also listened closely to our orders, recommended alternatives when asked, and was very punctual. The restaurant was very accommodating to menu substitutions and willing to answer questions about ingredients to meet dietary restrictions. The food was excellent. Fried brussels sprouts were amazing. Even the "simple" fried chicken sandwich was very good, with the pimiento dressing adding a nice splash of flavor to a very generously sized chicken filet. Salmon was done to perfection. Zucchini noodles, or Zoodles, were delicious and well made. As a side benefit the next door winery had a band playing and we were able to listen to some great music while eating. We came to find out the band is called Midnight Blues Virginia, so I'll throw in a plug for them here as well, even though they weren't playing at the restaurant itself. It's not cheap place to eat, so I wouldn't go back too often, but for a special occasion definitely.

It was a bit busy so we expected a slight delay on drinks/food, but our server kept checking on us every few minutes and kept our drinks full. The atmosphere/design is very unique and offers great talking points for the table. You can look around and always find something new you haven't seen before. For food, I got the French dip, my husband got the fried catfish, and mom got the smash burger. Food was EXCELLENT. The au jus from the French dip was not overly salty as I've had in the past, and it was the perfect amount for the sandwich. Not like other places that will either give you a big tub of au jus or ever a small saucer cup. After lunch, we walked around as they have a shopping area inside with soaps, handmade pottery/kitchenware, and local vendor products such as hatch chile cream cheese and pickled vegetables. Price was very favorable too and didn't seem to be overly priced where the business/vendor up charges significantly to make a huge profit. Definitely worth stopping by even if you only have time for Togo coffee, a snack, of just to shop around!

The outside is an unassuming brick building, kinda in the middle of nowhere. The inside is quaint, like a small Cracker Barrel with nostalgic knick-knacks around the walls. Server was absolutely amazing and the people are very friendly. But, the star of the show is the food that the back of the house prepares. Pizza was great, wood fired and perfectly crispy. Airline chicken caprese was a special and had roasted chicken, parmesan pepper grits, mozzarella with sun-dried tomatoes and sweet potato and kale stir fry. Crispy skin on the chicken, moist on the inside. Grits were peppery and creamy. Cheese was fresh and cold with the tangy tomatoes and then add the sweetness of the sweet potato....hits all the parts of a palate. The kitchen is locked in, firing on all cylinders and doing it right! Creative, fresh and perfectly executed. Please do yourself a favor and try this place. We will continue to return!

This week was different- I ordered the special for the night, a tasty fish dish. I am on a keto diet. The fish came topped with slaw. I was supposed to order " a carb" so I asked for more green beans. They said I already had a vegetable ( slaw). And that I couldn't have green beans. I love their green beans. But that was that - the waiter remained firm. So my plate came looking a little bare ( white fish fillet with slaw on top). I had not had that happen before. It annoyed me!

We still had a twenty-minute drive to the lodge when we reached the North gate. The drive was pretty, though, and passed quickly. The circular driveway in front of the lodge was clogged with cars, forcing us to park down the road a bit. No one was around to welcome us, and finding someone took us a bit. Once we did, the valets quickly took care of us, and we were checked in. Our room on the second floor overlooked the 18th green and a valley on the backside of the lodge. It was terrific: large and spacious, with lots of wood and chunky lodge-style furnishings. The bathroom was huge, with a large tub, separate shower, and his-and-hers sinks. The minibar came stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and some snacks. While staying here, we enjoyed their astronomy presentation at the top of the silo, walking on several trails through the nearby woods, time in the spa, and making smores out back by the fire pit in the evening with the other guests. There was a special cocktail hour with apps and drinks, and a chance to talk to some of the local providers of food and items to the hotel. They do an excellent job of using local sources for the lodge. Dining was top notch, except at the Stables family-style restaurant. The Stables was a disappointment. Our other meals though in the lodge were top notch. The staff at Primland is the best, and they are what make this place so special. Come visit in the summer and enjoy the cooler temperatures of the mountains.

I have lived in Blacksburg my whole life and ODB has been a go-to bakery for most locals for a while. Serving a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and offering lunch, brunch, and dinners. They have a lovely variety of options for customers to enjoy. The bakery primarily serves French pastries and caters to French cuisine at their meals. Although they offer more than just French inspired food. In the past, my family and I have enjoyed grabbing their cakes for celebrations and individual pastries from their pastries case. But recently, they have not been up to par and have left us very unsatisfied. The cakes have been dry and do not taste fresh at all. On my latest visit I tried a couple of things, all of which were cold, with dry, crumbly textures. It was evident to me that these pastries were not made day-of and had clearly sat in a fridge for at least one night (if not more). I found this to be extremely disappointing as ODB used to have a reputation of serving FRESH baked goods and pastries. I cannot attest for the hot food they serve during meal times, but the pastries and cakes have gone down hill. Over the winter break, I had their NY cheesecake bar (which I've gotten in the past and it was phenomenal) and it fell so short of what I remembered. It was lacking flavor and the crust at the bottom was dry. This past visit, I tried a Napoleon (also have had this before and really enjoyed it), a specialty cake, a scone, and a couple macarons and macaroons. The Napoleon was so cold and the puff pastry was super stale, it practically fell apart the second I tried to eat it. The specialty individual cake slice was also very cold and the cake wasn't moist at all. Again, indicating it was not fresh or made day-of. The scone was also a disappointment as it was dry and lacked any moisture. I thought the macrons and macaroons were fine though. While most of this was disappointing, the price didn't help either. Nothing was inexpensive and the quality was completely missing. So disappointing to leave this review as I used to enjoy coming here for sweet treats. It's sad to see that ODB is unfortunately not what it used to be. I will note that the service is very friendly and they do their best dealing with customers. Could have been more efficient, but I did go during a busier time. I hope they can turn things around, but until then I do not think I will be retuning soon.
