Never know when they are gonna be open, seems Beth and Travis are closed more than open. Always call ahead if you're planning on visiting this place. This is not something new, shortly after them taking over this business started happening. VERY UNRELIABLE excuses range from car trouble to their dog is sick. 6-28-25 they have been open 3 days in last 10, the 3 days they were open daily specials were same all 3 days, makes me wonder if cleaning out freezer in preparation of closing. Nice restaurant up the road called Sagos, open every day but Tuesdays, much better choice than meemaws. read more

A cute little hole in the wall with limited seating that you might be tempted to pass by. But if you like good country cooking, Mee Maws is the place for you! We have eaten there several times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is stellar every single time. The owner and chef learned to cook from grannies who could throw down. And it shows. The co-owner/wife/server couldn't be nicer. They are a wonderful couple and well suited for the hospitality industry. Don't pass them by. Incredible gem! We stopped in on our way to the Blue Ridge Pkwy for lunch. It was a few miles off our route, but will worth the short detour! We had our dog with us so we sat outside looking at the beautiful view of the fields across the street. The food was awesome, people fantastic and a perfect start to our long weekend! We stopped by this new joint when visiting relatives in Martinsville, and I gotta say, our family was impressed. We stopped in around 10am for breakfast, and it was still busy -- always a good sign. My kids and I had omelets and french toast. Everything was fresh and tasty. Biscuits were homemade and buttery. The coffee was strong and flavorful. The service was incredibly friendly and quick. And the prices were more than fair. The folks at the next table were already on lunch -- it looked spectacular. I'll definitely come back. read more

Meemaw's is a great place to go for homemade food. Peggy makes great BBQ, great soups, and great chicken salad, among other dishes. I eat there at least a couple times a month. Hidden down in Figsboro, it's a nice family owned and operated gem. read more

We stopped by Mee Maw's for dinner and were delighted with the food and service. My club sandwich was entirely grilled, something I have never tasted before but will enjoy again, for certain. The waitress made sure that my boyfriend's steak was properly cooked and that our drinks were refreshed frequently. This was a lovely, homestyle restaurant.
