Looking for a good breakfast while in town so gave this place a try. Seats available around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. Husband and I both ordered the veggie omelet with hashbrowns. In 2023 it's very hard to find a restaurant that serves excellent food with fast friendly and highly efficient service. I've found no better breakfast within 100 miles or more. Eggs were light fluffy and hot, bacon warm and crispy, biscuit divine and gravy was a bullseye. Decaf was hot and flavorful, which I rarely find. I'll be back for sure. This is just down the street from the new casino so start here before you loose your $$:-) read more

Not much to look at from the outside, which generally indicates a great place to eat. When we sat down, there were 4 other tables sat. It took 90 minutes to get an omelet, a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, and a pecan waffle. Other tables that were sat after us got food well before our table. The food came out cold. The State Line Diner was a great find on our trip to Danville VA! It was a local hot spot so we were hoping for good food and service. We definitely got both. The hostess greeted us warmly and sat us quickly. Our server was so sweet and took our orders then brought our coffees out quickly. The atmosphere inside the diner was cozy and warm with lots of homey decorations. Our breakfast was delivered and everything was exactly what we wanted. My husband had an omelette and I had two eggs and corn beef hash. The hostess upfront was also the cashier and as she checked us out she asked about our service and wished us a blessed day. We were so lucky to find this local diner. Thank you for treating these "out of towners" so warmly! read more

My fiancé and I absolutely loved this place! We visited here for the weekend and picked this spot for breakfast. Food was great (loved the grilled biscuits with gravy), but the best part was honestly the service! Our waitress was so thoughtful and kind. Gave us great recs for food, and made sure we were taken care of. Made sure my coffee was warm and full, we had enough water, and gave us our food and check relatively quick even with how busy it was. It was very packed, but she and all the workers did a great job greeting and making connections with all the people dining. If you want a home cooked meal from a restaurant, this is the place to be. I.e. here at least two times a week. If you don't want to sit in and done you can call in and they will have your food ready. The owner is so nice the whole staff is really nice. The service is just great. It's like you were home When you were eating or dining here. Most of the locals that is in there a lot. They already know how you want your food cooked. They don't forget. They treat their customers like family. The food is so good. It's like you fixed it at home yourself. I haven't hit anything there that I don't like yet And I've been going there since they open. read more

Went to Stateline Diner for breakfast. Ordered the Western Omelette and the Pancakes, two eggs and fried apples. The service was quick and they weren't too busy at 9 am. The only issue was it was difficult to get a drink refill and the omelette had a hair in it :0 read more

This is a great little diner, it's hidden in a shopping center that sets off the road a bit which makes it hard to see as there is no big signage that jumps out to get attention, there once was a big grocery store in this shopping center, but now all units are vacant except for a Family Dollar store and the State Line Diner, its behind the Hardee's. I've had breakfast and lunch here and both were great, they do serve breakfast all day like most diners. My scrambled eggs and crispy bacon I had on the breakfast stop were perfect. I stopped for lunch recently and had the Hamburger Steak, this Hamburger Steak w/ Gravy & Grilled Onions was outstanding, this is a big time hand pattied burger with great flavor covered in brown gravy and grilled onions, I had mashed potatos with gravy, which were great and sweet potato sticks as my sides, I wasn't sure what sweet potato sticks were gonna be, they were regular crinkle cut sweet potato fries. State Line Diner is about 3 miles off the main highway and a great place to get a bite, they also have daily specials. read more

Another great fine fir small town breakfast, with a group that are locals who entertain you with the stories from the area. Another Yelp home run!!!! We were on our way through Danville on the way to the Blue Ridge parkway and Yelp found us this neat little diner for lunch. I had the fried bologna sandwich with grilled onion at our waitress's suggestion and my husband and sister-in-law had the club sandwich. They said their sandwiches were great and I will forever have grilled onions on a bologna sandwich! YUM!!!! Waitress was very friendly and we will be sure to go out of our way if we're close to Danville at lunchtime! read more

I have been to State Line Diner now 4 times since I found it, not an easy find located in a shopping mall where there used to be a Kroger. I went once with my youngest son and I ordered a Junior burger it arrived fast and was just what I ordered. The amazing thing is the size of the Burger, it was huge. I then ordered food to take home to my other sons. They loved it and my 9 year old is very picky. We went again as a family when my mother in law visited and again the food was exactly what was ordered. My mother in law lives near Roanoke and said that State line diner was far better than most of the diner type restaurants in Roanoke and a sight cheaper in price. Now all 3 of my sons always ask when can we go back to State Line Diner. read more
