THAT PATIO...WOW!…read more This spot at Revolution Mill is outstanding from top to bottom. The food, the ambiance and the service are stellar. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves as far as the quality of the food and drinks served here. Everything from the apps and drinks, to the steaks and mains were top notch. Perfectly cooked juicy steaks, up there with the best of the best in the area. You won't go wrong with anything off of this menu, and the bartenders know what they're doing with delicious cocktails. In this review, I really want to emphasize the absolutely picture perfect patio they offer. First off, the interior space is large and beautiful. From the main dining room, to the large bar, and even the 2nd floor dining area. And then feast your eyes on the large wrap around patio, with an added separate bar and covered area as well. There are maybe a handful of great patio dining experiences in Greensboro that aren't on a main busy street or facing a parking lot. And those are great, but few and far in between. This patio stands with the best of them. No busy street. No loud parking lot. A raised area with flowing water, lush greenery and even a serene fountain that all surround this wrap around and elevated patio. Just an excellent experience for drinks, food, friends and family, or all of the above. We enjoy bellying up to a bar for drinks and happy hr, we enjoy going to places for a few apps, and we also enjoy tasty food and the whole experience. This has now become one of the top spots in our rotation for happy hr drinks, a few snacks, or for a full dining experience. If you haven't been yet...go. If you've already enjoyed the amazing food in their main dining area or bar...come back and enjoy this lovely patio experience.

IYKYK, in case you don't...only went because of an invitation to a birthday celebration(past…read moreexperience was not good). I arrived a little early and to decided to have a cocktail while I waited. I went to the empty bar and was totally ignored for approximately 15 minutes, I waited patiently as it was busy, but there was no one else at bar! Someone finally acknowledged me and gave me a menu after I said I just want a cocktail. She gave me the menu and walked away, only to pass by me several times without acknowledging me anymore! I left and went to deck bar and experienced the same treatment. I went to wait for the party to arrive, the hostess asked was it to warm outside, I responded no and explained my experience. He immediately apologized for my experience and told someone about my experience, she did take my drink order and brought it to me. We were a party of 14 and seated, waitress took our appetizer orders which arrived approximately 30-40 minutes later. Again, I will say it was busy, but wait time for appetizers was unacceptable!! The waitress was serving two large parties with no assistance from anyone. Our dinner orders were taken and took a ridiculous amount of time to receive, one guest started a timer after appetizer wait and it took 52 minutes to entrees to be received ! I didn't even eat my meal, I just got it to go. We had to ask for water refills and had to clear our own appetizers plates. I don't blame waitress, I blame management for not giving her help. Needless to say, Kau is definitely a thumbs down for me I will say it's a nice area, but the service we received sucked!!!! Technically I give ZERO STARS and will not recommend to anyone and will not hesitate to share my experience if I hear anyone mention Kau!!

I loved this place! I've been trying to make it out forever and finally had the chance. It was busy…read moreon a Sunday morning, we waited a good 30-40 minutes, but it was well worth the wait and once we were sat the food came out impressively fast! My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

Another of the good downtown restaurants that I have fought the parking to try - downtown WS's…read moresuccess is also a problem going forward - parking downtown needs to be addressed intelligently, which the local officials don't bring to the table, instead they are going to make changes which will just make matters worse! This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!
