    The booths are amazingly large!

I have lived in the area for 5 years and I have never been here. It took my sister to visit from another state to make it here. Atmosphere- dark, cozy, yet friendly. And clean! Appetizer was very good. Salad was small but pleasant. The dressing was different but really good! Steaks all around the table and all were satisfied. Now for the service. We were quickly ushered to the elite upper section when I gave my name and promptly greeted by our waiter, Rocky Mount renowned Casey Alexander. He was tall (6'2"), handsome, suave Quick with the wit and sweet tea refill. Will I be back? You betcha!

A little bit expensive for what you get but they have one of the best steaks around. Good service too

A great Family Owned Restaurant in our quaint small town. You won't find a better steak within a 100 mile radius. Don't miss out!

This was my second time to The Fishing Pig, and my husband's first. I did not enjoy the first time…read morebut came in with an open mind hoping the first time was bad just because they were new and we were a larger party. But now it's been verified the food here is terrible. My husband had sliced brisket that he had to use a knife to cut up, and ended up using ketchup the sauces were so bad. I had BBQ nachos and the only thing good on the plate was the sour cream. I don't know how you make chips and cheese taste bad but they did it. The Memphis sauce was allll wrong- tasted strongly and vinegar and no sweetness. The potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked. The server was nice but was very slow to get back to us as she was also bartending. We sat for quite some time with empty drink glasses waiting for the check. I do not hand out such low ratings usually; I tend to be generous. But I can't recommend anyone try this place. It's just awful.

From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed…read morewith a warm, laid-back atmosphere that perfectly blends Southern BBQ charm with fresh seafood flair. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home. The real star of the show, though, is the pulled pork. It's incredibly tender, smoky, and packed with flavor in every bite. The meat practically melts in your mouth and pairs perfectly with their house-made sauces. Whether you get it on a sandwich, platter, or piled high next to their classic sides, it's clear they know exactly what they're doing when it comes to BBQ. Everything tastes fresh and made with care, and the portions are generous without sacrificing quality. If you're craving authentic barbecue with bold flavor and great hospitality, The Fishin' Pig is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back for more of that amazing pulled pork!

The rest of my party was pleased with their food and drinks. The appetizers were great! Hot and tasty. Very expensive in my opinion. Staff was nice and friendly but slow service overall.

Abby was very attentive and came to the table frequently to check in and do refills. To start off this dining experience, we ordered the crab bites and a couple of clam chowder. First off, the clam chowder was great. It was one of their special items for the week, so it may not be available every visit. The crab bites were just okay in my opinion. The remoulade they were served with did have a good flavor though. I probably wouldn't order this appetizer again on a future visit. I've had a couple of people tell me to try the hushpuppy basket on my next visit. For the main course, I had jambalaya and would definitely have it again. The sausage, shrimp, and chicken were perfectly seasoned with all the Creole spices you want and expect with jambalaya. The people with me had fish and chips, crab cakes, and the Low Country boil with crab legs. Everyone was pleased with their main courses and agreed that they would come back to try more items. Overall, I would say this was a good new option in Lynchburg that's definitely worth a try, especially if you're a seafood lover. Can't wait to see how this restaurant develops after this soft opening week.

That being said, my husband ordered the fried seafood platter and according to him the breading was too heavy for his liking. My daughter (who does not like seafood) ordered chicken tenders. I believe they may use the same flour mixture to dredge both the chicken and the seafood, because her chicken tenders tasted very "fishy." I got the crab legs, which were delicious. However, they do not offer real butter so that was a bit disappointing. The things I did enjoy about this place: The decor was very nice. I love the murals on the walls. We did not have to wait for a table as there is plenty of seating. Everything felt very clean. Our waiter was wonderful. He was very kind, attentive, and accommodating. I think that considering this restaurant is in the mountains, it is a fine place to get seafood. If you are used to eating seafood on the coast, you may be disappointed.
