Cherry Chocolate stout and McDaniel's Scotch Ale from the the view of our comfy armchairs.

After a beautiful but chilly hike up Buffalo Mountain preserve, we made the quick trek over to this tavern to reward ourselves with a beer. I must admit we were a bit intimidated walking up- the building exterior looks like a cozy homestead that we were intruding on. Upon stepping inside, however, the guys working the bar quickly made us feel right at home. They gave us tastings to help us make our selection and we settled on the McDaniel's Scotch Ale and the Cherry Chocolate Stout. Both were so delicious that we decided to get a flight to try the rest of their beers. Every. Single. One. Was. Delicious. We were so impressed by the beer, the cozy atmosphere, the kind locals and also the tavern fare! We got their pot roast stew and rosemary sourdough grilled cheese specials and a stack of their amazing molasses cookies to go. We highly, highly recommend and can't wait to go back next time we're in the area.

A brewery with a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The inside is kind of forest cabin-like. Lots of character with comfy chairs and couches in addition to regular tables and the bar. There are card games and reading material left around for entertainment. My party and I enjoyed playing one of the Beer Trivia card games there. We didn't get any food, but there were some cool snack options and they informed us of plans to bring in more local food vendors soon. The outdoor space is amazing! If I lived closer, I would go here to hangout all the time. Staff was friendly as well. Everyone was happy with the beer selection and quality.

We stopped in here on a recommendation and were pleasantly surprised. Cute inside that has a cozy and inviting ambiance. Outside welcoming and good for families with yard games like cornhole and horseshoes. The pretzel was a nice snack to join of flight of any 5 of their beers on tap.

Stumbled upon this place while camping up the road. We weathered the storm by rolling up to this place for a few pints. Beer was great! We enjoyed the Wit and Porter the most. The place is an old home - renovated and modernized by the owers to offer their customers unique spaces to enjoy their beers. They did an amazing job on the renovations but allowed the existing character of the home to shine through. We loved the tunes that were playing too! Bonus points. Although it was raining - the outdoor space looked inviting with plenty of seating and outdoor games. We will be back next time we're in the area (or driving through) and can't wait to see this place grow. Don't forget to sign the guest book!

This is a perfect destination in Floyd. The owners have converted a home into a brewery with a pub-style tasting room. The inside is beautifully done - a cross between elegant and cozy. There's outdoor seating both front and back and a space for tossing horse shoes and cornhole. We had the porter and the stout and both were excellent. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing. They plan to serve food eventually but, when we went, they had small snacks like big bar pretzels. There is an Italian restaurant and a hotel across the street so we've definitely put this on our list of destination spots for weekend trips. It's a short drive into downtown Floyd. I think that this place just got started and I bet that it is going to get really (really) well known. Four stars for now because it will be five stars once they start serving food.

A friend invited me along to their first "birthday party" and neither of us was sure about what to expect. When we walked in, there was plenty of tables and even had outdoor seating. The bar area is very small, so you have to order and move, but that's not a big deal. They have plenty of beer on tap and offer flights. As far as beer selection goes, there is something for everyone. They have lagers, stouts, and everything in between. Since it was their birthday party, there was live music, face painting, and plenty of games set-up outside. Even though they are a brewery, they are super kid friendly. There were a ton of families there and it seemed like the kiddos were having just as much fun as the adults. Kudos to the owners for appealing to not only couples, but families, too!

Great ambiance. Very much like a pub in Britain or Ireland. The live music appearances are icing on the cake.

The waiter ghosted us after we were served half our food. The rest arrived 10 minutes later by another waiter and it was cold.

Best pimento cheese I've ever had! This funky little brewery is worth a stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Bulls & Bones: Burgers, BBQ & Brewpub has a lot of "B" alliteration going on. I felt like a steak when I visited, so I went for it. I got the USDA Angus Sirloin, which comes with two sides (I chose steamed broccoli and fries). The steak and sides were good and simple, which was just what I was feeling like that night. I visited Bull & Bones with a group of people, and we ordered a few appetizers to share, so I got to taste some things on the menu. First of all, we got complimentary potato chips for the table. Sweet! We also ordered the fried pickles (not my thing, but people were going off on them). Also, we got two orders of the wings: one was boneless wings with buffalo sauce, and the other was regular bone-in wings with Caroline Gold sauce. My favorite were the wings with Carolina Gold sauce, because of the flavor. They were so savory and slightly sweet. For dessert, we got the warm cookie with two scoops of ice cream (yum!) and the blueberry lemon cake, which didn't look like much but tasted amazing. A little bit of dessert goes a long way, and I think you could get away with sharing a dessert, for sure. The ambiance at Bulls & Bones is casual. It's a sit-down restaurant, but it's not fancy at all.

He seemed to genuinely care about us and our orders; extremely accommodating and polite. The place was rather nice inside too for a brewpub! As we sat down our table was given a small sample of their house made potato chips, they were pretty good, would've been even better in some ranch! With that, the main food: I got a Chicken Caesar wrap and added bacon, honestly it was pretty good. The chicken had good flavor, it was very filling, and adding the bacon stepped it up a notch. For the cons, I wish it would've had more Caesar dressing, and the portion for the price it felt a little smaller than I was expecting. Overall a hearty wrap! I also got the 4 cheese Mac for my side. I was so excited to try it because I've heard people rave about it, but it sort of fell flat for me. If you really like a super creamy mac n cheese this is for you! I just wish there would've been a bit more flavor, some depth, for a premium side I just don't think this did it for me. Overall, great service, cute place right outside the big mall area, but I think the food is a little more average than I was hoping for. If there was an option I'd say it lands more at a 3.5 than a 3. Then again, I only got the wrap and mac, and I know they are more known for the bbq and burgers at the moment, so give those a fair chance!

Please do not patronize Creek Bottom Brewing…read more It is not a safe place for women or children. Creek Bottom is at the center of a local controversy involving a young man named William Ayers. In 2023, Ayers was convicted of child rape (carnal knowledge of a child) and abduction. He was released from prison last year, back into our community. Upon his release, Creek Bottom Brewing began employing him to work in the brewery--as a known convicted child sex offender. In February, while working for Creek Bottom, Ayers was arrested AGAIN for ANOTHER sexual assault, strangulation, brandishing a firearm, and abduction by force. It got a little media attention as the "Valentine's Day Rape." Recently added to his list of charges is possession of child porn and sexual abuse of an animal. Where does Creek Bottom come in, beyond offering a job to a known child sex offender? William Ayers' parents are the owners of Creek Bottom. They made the choice to employ him at their brewery, along with their many young women employees and the families who visit the restaurant. Our dollars spent at the brewery unwittingly went directly towards Ayers' paycheck. Many community members feel that Creek Bottom's owners have made horrendous decisions that endanger our community by choosing to have their son employed at the brewery, and by supporting/enabling him in other ways. It is readily apparent that Ayers' parents employ pricey high-powered out-of-town attorneys to defend their son from his charges. (Courtroom interactions between those attorneys and the father of William Ayers reinforce this, with the attorneys pulling Daddy Ayers aside for extended conferencing before making motions.) A couple of days ago, Ayers was offered bail set at $900,000. That means that if his supporters/enablers come up with a $90k bail bond agent fee, or $900k on their own, Ayers will AGAIN be released into our community. All of this is a matter of public record: past convictions, state sex offender registry that showed Ayers working at Creek Bottom until his latest arrest, ownership of Creek Bottom, recent charges, and ongoing court case with private legal defense. All members of our community can and should make their own INFORMED choices here. Sending your money in Creek Bottom's direction could literally help lead to this individual being released into our community once again. Endanger the wealth that is supporting him, and we may be able to make a real difference for community safety. Please don't unwittingly contribute to a William Ayers legal defense fund or to bailing him out to walk among us again. If you see fit, stand by us in this effort.
