Just the other morning riding through a section of Shenandoah Avenue that I had never taken before, I discovered a place so amazing that made me come back and visit that same evening. By doing so I was able to confirm firsthand my suspicion of my amazing finding and wanted to share with the readers of my review so that they too are able to enjoy this golden needle in the haystack never explored, yet in their back yard. But before I begin, I would like to thank and give tribute to the business partners who came up with idea of this place and never allowed their life circumstances get in the way of making their dream come true for all of us, the community, to be able to share and enjoy. Twisted Track Brewpub is more than just a full-service brewery and kitchen, serving upscale food and beverages in a cool and relaxed environment. It is the perfect meeting place and entertainment venue for families and friends to meet and share quality time with each other in a safe and amusing place. First of all I was very impressed by the beautiful, open space architectural design of the building's interior as well as its exterior front seating area patio. They are welcoming and make you feel at home. When you arrive and walk inside you are immediately captivated by the place with tables and chairs all over, and a ramp and stairs that lead to a counter high above where orders are taken and paid for after you've had an opportunity to examine the menus which have been placed on every table. There "just the right size" and quality food selection menu made me want to enjoy all items listed. Especially accompanying them with a side of their very unique and amazing fat curly fries, which they call "Twisted Fries." At the counter, and extremely welcoming and friendly young lady greeted me with a smile and explained the variety of drinking items available, including very creative non-alcoholic drinks, such as the Collective Art Guava Go, which I ended up having. After ordered this and a Pulled Pork Sandwich with an order of Twisted Fries, I paid and was given my drink and a beeper to notify me when my order was ready and to go pick it up at the order pickup counter. After I sat down at a table of my choosing facing a small stage on the left side of the building, the beeper beeped and I went to pick up my order. Again the staff their were very friendly and nice. They even allowed me to photograph other menu items that were waiting on the counter for my readers to be able to view and admire. Then as I enjoyed the food that was amazingly delicious, including those amazing Twisted Fries, I looked around and the clientele seemed to be just normal and clean folks enjoying a good time. There was a group of what looked like business associates at one of the large tables. A family at another table, where the father was playing UNO with his son, using gigantic size cards. A couple at another table and so on. Many seemed like repeat customers. Since it was a Friday evening. Friday, January 17th to be more precise. It was Live Music Night and William Seymour, a musician and recording artist from Noth Carolina was scheduled to perform. He practiced on the stage for a while. Them came down and handed out his very creative square business cards with a QR code to be able to pay for TIPS and merchandise with venmo. He then went up the stage and sang and played his guitar. To conclude all I can say is: What an extraordinary dining and entertaining experience this has been. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable evening with family and friends, and am honored to be the one who has been able to make you aware of this gem of a place.

I had a great dinner here. It's a really cool space with a railroad theme and tracks. Parking is a bit tight, but I was able to find street parking fairly quickly. I had an ipa that was really good and onion rings with a grilled chicken. The onion rings really stood out to me as perfectly crispy

Fried green beans to go with my flight of beer and cider.

Lots of different options on draft for beer, cider, & wine. Order of fried green beans was a good size and more than enough to have as a side to my flight.

Wow! This is the place to be on a Saturday! Luckily it's a very large space that can accommodate everyone! You order at the bar and then have open seating. Several beer and kombucha options - and even a few NAs. We really enjoyed our meal here. Several TVs around to catch the game.

Drinks (5/5): We got 4 drinks: June Shine Hard Kombucha Grapefruit Paloma (5/5), On It Gose - Blood Orange (3/5), On It Gose - Key Lime (4/5), The Village Tart (1/5). They had a lot of syrups for flavoring beers and waters. Their wall of drinks was pretty cool. There's something for everyone here! Seating & Parking (4/5): This place was PACKED. It was hard to find seating; we ended up sitting in the back of the building, looking at a warehouse. The front of the building was nicer with more seating. The inside was pretty warm with all the people. The line to order took about 10-15 mins. There were signs surrounding the line telling people to pay through an app instead to avoid the line, but you need to make an account and sign up for stuff, so we didn't do that and just closed out after ordering. Service (5/5): The staff were extremely nice and funny. She joked with us as we were ordering. This place is pretty neat and definitely a must when you visit Roanoke!

Kids burger (I wasn't starving and had an appetizer and it was big and perfect), fried green beans, beers and intercity Buffalo chicken.

Visited earlier this year with a large group and was well cared for. Said we wanted to visit again to try food. Visited tonight for dinner and beers and was blown away. Service was great. Food was cooked perfectly. Green beans are NOT to be missed. Can't wait to visit

Steak and cheese (beer cheese)

Overall, a nice place to hang out with friends or do happy hour. It gets decently busy and they have limited parking on the premises but have directions to other parking locations if the lot is full which is helpful. They have a widespread selection of different beers but I opted for the Muscato and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. I also ordered the steak and cheese which had beer cheese on it and that was just OK. I was not a big fan of the beer cheese on the sandwich but I was hungry and definitely full after eating it so no further complaints on my end. They have live music play decently often so keep that in mind when deciding where to sit!

Lines can be long, but they move fast. Good music, good pub grub, good beers. Even welcoming for families, solid establishment.

We were passing through Roanoke and wanted to try a local establishment. Twisted Track is definitely a great place to try. There were multiple IPA's to choose from and something that my wife especially liked, a habanero flavor shot with her Seltzer. I am not a big IPA fan, but love the cider. I had the Apple cider and it tasted great. For dinner, I had the Cowboy Chicken sandwich which was amazing! She had the Moroccan Kofta and thought it was delicious. Tuesday was trivia night which was very interesting, even though we did not win . If you are in Roanoke and wanting a great local place, definitely give this place a try. You will not regret it!

Parkway Brewing - Great murals from beer labels

Brewing companies, there are many in this neck of the woods, but very unique, one-of-a-kind ones,…read morelike this one, rarely do we find one. I happened to find this one while searching for the Empanada Nirvana Food Truck. It just so happened that I found out that the Empanada Nirvana Food Truck was going to be stationed outside the Parkway Brewing Company this past Wednesday during National Empanada Day and so I researched this place to learn more about it. I found out that Parkway Brewing Company is a craft brewery in Salem, Virginia. Established in 2012, it is well known for its distinctive ales and a vibrant tasting room with a large beer garden, live music, and food trucks. It operates a 30-barrel brewhouse, producing a large range of beers from IPA to lagers. Located near the Roanoke Valley Greenway, it attracts runners and cyclists, and has become a community hub for outdoor enthusiasts and beer lovers. When I arrived in my pearl white Lexus, the Empanada Nirvana Food Truck was already parked outside, but had not yet opened, so I went inside the brewery to explore its building. There I found a casual, low-key environment with an industrial-chick interior featuring a fireplace and garage doors that opened to the outdoors, to an area with picnic tables and sun umbrellas. Inside there were also several colorful modern murals and a wide counter where customers went to order and pay for their beers. They had several menus as well as display coolers with some of the beers being sold there. The friendly and knowledgeable young lady behind the counter did an excellent job explaining what they had, including the non-alcoholic options. While going to the restrooms, one passed by a window where you could see the brewhouse. Along the way there were also shelves filled with souvenirs of the place. In the room where the fireplace was, there was also a stage for live performances, which usually took place at night. I loved the ambiance and vive of the place and am looking forward to returning to one of their music live performance and some of their beers, and knowing that they also carry non-alcoholic ones will allow me to enjoy the evening and drive back home safely.

We had no reservation, but we were able to be seated. The menu was easy to read and follow. They provided the most amazing chips as a courtesy while we decided on our dinner choices. The chips were house-made and FANTASTIC!. Our meal was outstanding. Perfectly prepared. Generous portions. Our food was hot! Meadow was our server. She was outstanding. The approach to customer service was Superb- the entire team of servers took care of everyone's customers if the food was ready and that customer's server was with another customer. Meadow was very attentive, and there was a private party in their private dining space. I watched this young woman engage with elderly customers as though they were family... and they loved it. How special they felt. She was also that same way with us. It was as though we were her only customers. The ambiance was good - it is known for its BBQ after all. It was clean and orderly. One of the managers stopped by to check on us and meal. Attention to detail matters...we felt like we mattered.

He seemed to genuinely care about us and our orders; extremely accommodating and polite. The place was rather nice inside too for a brewpub! As we sat down our table was given a small sample of their house made potato chips, they were pretty good, would've been even better in some ranch! With that, the main food: I got a Chicken Caesar wrap and added bacon, honestly it was pretty good. The chicken had good flavor, it was very filling, and adding the bacon stepped it up a notch. For the cons, I wish it would've had more Caesar dressing, and the portion for the price it felt a little smaller than I was expecting. Overall a hearty wrap! I also got the 4 cheese Mac for my side. I was so excited to try it because I've heard people rave about it, but it sort of fell flat for me. If you really like a super creamy mac n cheese this is for you! I just wish there would've been a bit more flavor, some depth, for a premium side I just don't think this did it for me. Overall, great service, cute place right outside the big mall area, but I think the food is a little more average than I was hoping for. If there was an option I'd say it lands more at a 3.5 than a 3. Then again, I only got the wrap and mac, and I know they are more known for the bbq and burgers at the moment, so give those a fair chance!
