Very nice brewpub. It's in an old rail station by the museum. Cool vibe to the place. You line up the ramp and a server helps you at the tablet. Great beers on tap. I liked that I could add some fruit flavoring to the sour. My husband enjoyed the hefe. We were there on a Sunday so had their brunch offerings. Burrito was delicious, big portion, good ingredients. Large side portion of breakfast potatoes. The French toast sammich was great. Had leftovers to take home bc it's just such a big sammich. Again came with a good portion of potatoes. My son had a cheeseburger and oranges. He loved it. We enjoyed that we could bring our son along and they have board games and toys to help entertain him. They also offer a crowler (32oz can) version of beer of your choice. So we grabbed one of each of our beers to go. Really enjoyed being able to have some to go. Just the other morning riding through a section of Shenandoah Avenue that I had never taken before, I discovered a place so amazing that made me come back and visit that same evening. By doing so I was able to confirm firsthand my suspicion of my amazing finding and wanted to share with the readers of my review so that they too are able to enjoy this golden needle in the haystack never explored, yet in their back yard. But before I begin, I would like to thank and give tribute to the business partners who came up with idea of this place and never allowed their life circumstances get in the way of making their dream come true for all of us, the community, to be able to share and enjoy. Twisted Track Brewpub is more than just a full-service brewery and kitchen, serving upscale food and beverages in a cool and relaxed environment. It is the perfect meeting place and entertainment venue for families and friends to meet and share quality time with each other in a safe and amusing place. First of all I was very impressed by the beautiful, open space architectural design of the building's interior as well as its exterior front seating area patio. They are welcoming and make you feel at home. When you arrive and walk inside you are immediately captivated by the place with tables and chairs all over, and a ramp and stairs that lead to a counter high above where orders are taken and paid for after you've had an opportunity to examine the menus which have been placed on every table. There "just the right size" and quality food selection menu made me want to enjoy all items listed. Especially accompanying them with a side of their very unique and amazing fat curly fries, which they call "Twisted Fries." At the counter, and extremely welcoming and friendly young lady greeted me with a smile and explained the variety of drinking items available, including very creative non-alcoholic drinks, such as the Collective Art Guava Go, which I ended up having. After ordered this and a Pulled Pork Sandwich with an order of Twisted Fries, I paid and was given my drink and a beeper to notify me when my order was ready and to go pick it up at the order pickup counter. After I sat down at a table of my choosing facing a small stage on the left side of the building, the beeper beeped and I went to pick up my order. Again the staff their were very friendly and nice. They even allowed me to photograph other menu items that were waiting on the counter for my readers to be able to view and admire. Then as I enjoyed the food that was amazingly delicious, including those amazing Twisted Fries, I looked around and the clientele seemed to be just normal and clean folks enjoying a good time. There was a group of what looked like business associates at one of the large tables. A family at another table, where the father was playing UNO with his son, using gigantic size cards. A couple at another table and so on. Many seemed like repeat customers. Since it was a Friday evening. Friday, January 17th to be more precise. It was Live Music Night and William Seymour, a musician and recording artist from Noth Carolina was scheduled to perform. He practiced on the stage for a while. Them came down and handed out his very creative square business cards with a QR code to be able to pay for TIPS and merchandise with venmo. He then went up the stage and sang and played his guitar. To conclude all I can say is: What an extraordinary dining and entertaining experience this has been. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable evening with family and friends, and am honored to be the one who has been able to make you aware of this gem of a place. read more

The Pub layout was very fun! The music was GREAT and catered to the age group that was there. The food was ok. The cookie was actually the best thing. The biggest issue we had was the insane TIP culture. We waited in line. We went to the counter to order our food We had to pick up our food at a window We had to go to another place for our drinks We sat ourselves YET, there was a recommended 18-25% tip on our bill. The employees provided NO personal service. The girl made us feel very uncomfortable and kept tapping on the tip screen. So we did give something, but I won't ever do it again. read more

They also have a private meeting room that can be reserved. Have always had friendly service at the bar. After many visits over a couple years: The menu offerings and their quality do not match the rest of the place. They have some good sandwiches, the burgers, smash burger style, are adequate and the twisted fries are very good. The Mediterranean Bowl is good and is a cool, fresh option. The "wings" are chopped up chicken thighs. Meh. Beer cheese is on many of the items; not everyone cares for beer cheese and a non beer cheese sauce option would be a good option for families with finicky littles. I will continue to visit for the events, family vibes, and drinks, hoping the food will improve. read more

Twisted track is such a nice place to go to relax and have decent food and a good beverage. The atmosphere is so laid-back. Even when I bring my son, it seems worry free. They have a large selection of board games. Lots of nonalcoholic beverages. And a very impressive menu. I love their hotdog dogs and their pizza. They had a lot of syrups for flavoring beers and waters. Their wall of drinks was pretty cool. There's something for everyone here! Seating & Parking (4/5): This place was PACKED. It was hard to find seating; we ended up sitting in the back of the building, looking at a warehouse. The front of the building was nicer with more seating. The inside was pretty warm with all the people. The line to order took about 10-15 mins. There were signs surrounding the line telling people to pay through an app instead to avoid the line, but you need to make an account and sign up for stuff, so we didn't do that and just closed out after ordering. We visited Roanoke with friends and wanted someplace to get a beer and food. Twisted Track did the trick. I had the Revolution 3.0 and it was great. My wife had the chicken wings which were so-so and I had the pretzel tray (yum!) and the fried green beans (triple yum!) The night we went there was a band and a mandatory cover charge. There were not many people there at that hour, and they turned the music down for us immediately. In fact, the staff was very cheerful and upbeat. There are several kinds of seating - picnic tables, regular tables, and the bar-stool size. None of us were drinking - the selection was huge, though - so we focused on lunch. The food was outstanding - the best steak sandwich I've ever had....and I lived in Philadelphia for six years! You have to go back to the bar anytime you want anything. Nachos are WEAK. The weakest nachos I've ever seen. Most of chips had nothing but watery bbq sauce on them! A little queso type sauce, a few dribbles of pulled pork and some sad pickled jalapeños. No beans. No tomatoes. No Pico de Gallo. WEAK. Philly cheesesteaks were desperately overseasoned with black pepper. Club sandwiches were large but lunch meat was meh. No fountain soda or brewed tea. It gets decently busy and they have limited parking on the premises but have directions to other parking locations if the lot is full which is helpful. They have a widespread selection of different beers but I opted for the Muscato and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. I also ordered the steak and cheese which had beer cheese on it and that was just OK. I was not a big fan of the beer cheese on the sandwich but I was hungry and definitely full after eating it so no further complaints on my end. We were passing through Roanoke and wanted to try a local establishment. Twisted Track is definitely a great place to try. There were multiple IPA's to choose from and something that my wife especially liked, a habanero flavor shot with her Seltzer. I am not a big IPA fan, but love the cider. I had the Apple cider and it tasted great. For dinner, I had the Cowboy Chicken sandwich which was amazing! She had the Moroccan Kofta and thought it was delicious. Tuesday was trivia night which was very interesting, even though we did not win . If you are in Roanoke and wanting a great local place, definitely give this place a try. Had to wait to see the menu at the counter and needed time to decide so was asked to come back up...which was fine but please set menus out so customers can look beforehand. Hidden gem of a brewpub. Pretty good selection of beers. I particularly liked the Kilts on Stilts Scottish Ale. Very good version this style beer. Kinda light compared to some Scotch Ales which is great when it is warm outside. I also had the Revolution NE IPA. Nice. Not too bitter which is great. They also Gose, Sours, and Seltzer's on tap. They have a spacious inside so you aren't packed in like sardines. The outside is spacious as well. They have seating for 95 (I counted) mostly at six tops. They also have two fire pits for the cooler days. For sunny days they have umbrellas for some tables and large canopies for some others. The folks that work there are super nice and they have a way of paying your tab without standing in line. Don't know much about it so I can't tell you if it works well or not. It appears to be a 7bbl system which is probably right sized for the brewery. They also have food!!! Check out their menu. The outside is dog friendly but pups can't go inside due to health codes (remember they serve food). I'm a sucker for tie dye shirts so I had to pick one up on my first visit. Will return! read more

Much to like about Twisted Track...but the entire experience was undermined by several peculiarities. Those first: * to place your order, whether for food or beverage, you have to stand in a line that flows down a ramp (don't use the stairs, a sign says). The night I was there, there were perhaps 20 people in front of me, each waiting for a summons from one of the three bartenders at the wide bar ahead. When your time comes, you then place your beverage order, and if you also want food, you do so there and then, and for food you are provided with a little beeper that will alert you when it is ready. Then YOU go and pick it up. You pay for this order, grab your beverages, then hunt for a seat. * Now many times when I'm at a brewpub, I will order more than one beverage as the night progresses, but to me a return to the LINE was a deterrent. Just saying. * There are signs on the bar indicating the if you don't want to stand in line to close out your tab, you can use an App. Which I tried to do, downloaded it, provided all the necessary info, and was told to then enter the code they'd email to me (why not text? I mean to go to my email, I had to open my browser, sign in to my email, and read their email message, which wasn't there!). So lacking the functional App, I still had to head over and deal with a human to close out my tab. Okay, enough complaints. *Nice, large venue, with lots of outdoor seating and a fire pit. Lots of space inside, although while they offer lots of live music, the metal and concrete surfaces are less than optimal for sound quality. * Not many veggie options, but this is a bar. Okay, three salads, but at $13 it better be good. * There were very few Front of House staff, maybe three bartenders, two floaters on the floor, and one dispensing the food from the kitchen. * Lots of free parking. read more
