Went here to celebrate the last day of classes and grab a quick flight, which I forgot to take a picture of (as per usual). We tried four different beers, with our favorite being the Coconut Migration porter. The bartender had great recommendations and was very kind and patient when we were figuring out what we wanted to order. The inside had a cool vibe I would describe as industrial meets greenhouse, with lots of board games to keep you entertained. The patio seating is also beautiful, and we sat and watched a storm roll in while enjoying our brews. We didn't try the food, but the table next to us seemed to really enjoy the food. We will absolutely be back to get a new flight (they have a large selection of beers to try) and a meal to enjoy at sunset in the future. read more

What a cool vibe this place is! Eastern Divide is serving up a variety of beer styles and food in a large industrial-chic space. Their staff is friendly and helpful. Nitro coffee, wine and cocktails are also available for purchase. I loved the feel of the taproom but, should you choose to sit on the patio, you'll get a mountain view in the distance. Love this place! The team is always friendly and helpful and will offer you a simple if you want to try one of their in house beers (which has a good variety from Vienna lager to sours). Food is good too; had the pretzel and it came out fresh and is perfect for two people to snack on. With the outdoor seating/during the nice days in spring/summer/fall, it can get busy with very little seating. But everybody is so nice and understands once they're done eating to get up and allow others to come by and use the space. They also have board games! read more

A hidden gem in the Virginia Tech office park section of Blacksburg (near Route 460) for families seeking a casual early dinner in a spacious and appealing setting. My wife, two teenage sons (19 yrs, 17 yrs), and I tried this place after a long 4-hour drive from northern Virginia and checking-in to our hotel in Christiansburg. We saw many families here on a Saturday at 5:45pm (Virginia Tech faculty and graduate students are core customers). Overall, it was a pleasant experience with lots of pluses. First, the craft beer selection is wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed the light lager (option #1) and ordered several dishes. If you like smash burgers, this is the place for you (my younger son loved it and the generous serving of fries). My wife and older son enjoyed the blackened mahi tacos (which paired nicely with the lager beer). I had the veggie protein bowl with an added chicken option (delightful), which is a great healthy option. Also, the service is professional and friendly. You order at the bar first, then take a seat, and wait for the order to arrive (the buzzer device will light up). Finally, it was mid-January 2025 so the back section doors were not open. But we walked outside over to the back side and saw the lovely lawn area and outdoor tables which are open in the warmer months. This place would be fantastic for large events! This family-friendly place has limited hours (it's closed on Mondays and Tuesday), but open for both lunch and dinner on Saturday with a brunch on Sundays. read more

Cute brewery in Blacksburg VA... with tasty and diverse beer options. We tried a porter, amber, cider and non-alcoholic nitro cold brew. Loved sitting inside... comfortable chairs that were very sturdy with wide seats. Long tables family style and plenty of space to spread out. The noise level for an industrial warehouse building was surprisingly manageable. We had no problem carrying a conversation over our game of scrabble. Speaking of... we appreciated the great game selection. For food we tried the pretzel which tasted similar to a bagel... a little chewier than traditional pretzel served with a mustard sauce that had a kick. The cookie plate was like homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk to dunk. Just call me Santa... as my tummy loved it. Don't let a full parking lot fool you. We found a spot and spent a short time in line for quick food and drinks and no problem finding a seat. Tried to come last weekend and the site didn't have an event listed so I am glad I called before I drove there because it was closed. We went on Super Bowl Sunday at 1:30pm. They were closing @ 2pm so we just grabbed one beer. The beer was good. The place has a very cool, industrial feel to it. What a wonderful brewery Eastern Divide is. I'd recommend coming early, as the place packs up by 6 or 7 PM because everyone knows that this place is it. They've got quite a few beers on tap, and I really liked the blackberry sour that they did. There are pre made flights, but they'll let you make your own custom one if you get there early. This is a newer brewery as this wasn't around back when I was in undergrad (2018). Visited with a few friends in late May and loved it. The space is bright with many plants and outdoor seating. There's a field area with rocks as well for dogs or kids to enjoy. Parking was easy and the beer wasn't bad. I think they had flights but I didn't see these advertised on the menu so I wish they were. We did not try the food as we were too busy eating all of the other local eats in the area but the menu looked good. I'll definitely be back during my next Blacksburg trip! read more

On a sunny day, THIS is where you can and will find me. Eastern Divide has a great food and drink selection and the proper seating to make you feel like life is beautiful. Maybe dramatic but I love a good sunny day. I've had their lunch before (hot honey chicken sandwich) and on this particular day I went for brunch and got the chicken biscuit. Both times I thoroughly enjoyed my meals! They've got the hot honey flavor down, nothing too overwhelming but a good little kick. The batter coating is great too, overall a yummy dish. The potatoes that came with our brunch meals were DELICIOUS, I'm a big potato fanatic and this is one of the favorites I've had. Perfectly crunchy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside. The outdoor heating is very nice,. This place gets pretty busy, so parking is difficult. I didn't particularly like that they don't have servers, and instead you had to wait on a long line to order from a cashier who expects an 18 to 25% tip. My dark lager beer was not cold. Really cute brewpub close-ish to campus, eastern divide has wonderful indoor vibes to have a beer or some food. They had beautiful decor and staff was very friendly. They had some shared tables and a few individual tables for smaller groups. Their outdoor area doesn't have a beautiful view but is a nice set up for kids to run around or to sit by the heat lamp area. The beers we tried were nice and they have liquor based drinks as well. Parking lot was packed, line to order was long, but the staff moved quick and our food was ready just a few minutes after we sat down. We came with my family to have a lunch with my daughter's swim team and brought food for my son who has severe allergies and there are very few things he can eat. They refused to let us in, even though the remaining 4 of us were going to eat and order off of their menu. When I calmly mentioned his allergies, the employee yelled at us that we had to leave and he could either eat their food or we all had to leave because "we serve fruit." Not even asking what his allergies were. My daughter was looking forward to team building lunch after a long weekend of swimming but because of the rude employees that would not accommodate my son's allergy needs, we had to leave. Visited some friends for the 4th of July weekend and they took me to Eastern Divide. One of the best breweries I've ever been to. And if not the cleanest brewery. We ordered a few beers, but the food was the show. Everything was tasty and fresh. We ordered a few orders of the bleu cheese fries and a few chicken sandwiches. Both entrees were awesome.
