We came with my family to have a lunch with my daughter's swim team and brought food for my son who has severe allergies and there are very few things he can eat. They refused to let us in, even though the remaining 4 of us were going to eat and order off of their menu. When I calmly mentioned his allergies, the employee yelled at us that we had to leave and he could either eat their food or we all had to leave because "we serve fruit." Not even asking what his allergies were. My daughter was looking forward to team building lunch after a long weekend of swimming but because of the rude employees that would not accommodate my son's allergy needs, we had to leave. Will never support this business and cannot believe someone would be this ignorant and rude to a family with allergies. read more

Visited some friends for the 4th of July weekend and they took me to Eastern Divide. One of the best breweries I've ever been to. And if not the cleanest brewery. We ordered a few beers, but the food was the show. Everything was tasty and fresh. We ordered a few orders of the bleu cheese fries and a few chicken sandwiches. Both entrees were awesome. This brewery has a fantastic view where a lot of people come to eat and enjoy the sunset. We will be back! Thanks for the experience! read more

Everything was great...the food, beer, outdoor seating and friendly staff. Will come back every time I visit Blacksburg.

Great Place to grab a fried chicken "samich" and a cold beer.. I actually had a Mule made with Titos, Ginger beer, lime, and ice. Great way to end a hot day on the trails. Super friendly and staff and seemed to actually be happy to be there.. will go back next time we are passing through. read more

Great selection of food and beer in a picturesque setting. The Mirage Maibock beer was solid. Everyone was happy with their food and drink. Atmosphere was excellent, though... caution with children as their music choice when we were there included some VERY CLEAR and EXPLICIT lyrics one of which was "I want to tear your fxxking head off." When I alerted management, they were dismissive about my concern. (The child wasn't among my party, so my concern might be admittedly misplaced.) They did say they could possibly lower the volume. I wasn't trying to kill the vibe they were trying to achieve, but it could be done by filtering their music appropriately. (This was a Sunday afternoon.) All in all, we really liked EDBC and will return for sure, but hopefully the music & attitude were one-offs. read more

My wife just had their fried chicken sandwich and I had the multi-grain bowl with chicken and their crafted soda and they were as good as others say, and maybe better. Large open brewery space with plenty of seating inside or sit on a big rock outside. Highly recommend this restaurant/ brewery. Service is great. Everything is clean and the people never stop coming in. Had a great time and called my friends to come join me. read more

First time visiting tonight and already love the place. The beer is excellent, and they have good diversity instead of just being mostly IPAs with a stout and a lager like other places typically offer. We really enjoyed the sour beers and their red ale. The food was also delicious with large portions. I've been to a lot of breweries where the food was obviously a distant second to the beer, but Eastern Divide clearly takes pride in their food offerings as well. They also have dog brews of bone broth with a few treats, which is genius. The space is also nice and open outside, so great for dogs that get a little overstimulated. Only drawback is a lack of outdoor seating. Seems like they could really use a half dozen picnic tables scattered over the field, but not really an issue for us since we just chilled on the rocks. But if we had intended on participating in the bar trivia, it would have been nice to have enough outdoor seating options close enough to the action to play. Definitely see ourselves visiting a lot this summer. read more

Great beer and good food! We live by multiple breweries and vineyards so while visiting decided to give the local spot a try. The beer and food were so good but the staff was so annoyed with customers. The woman putting wristbands on was so annoyed by our questions and ended up just pointing. Not a smile or a welcome.. The staff behind the bar really were annoyed when I asked about the beers on tap. I really felt like I was at a fraternity party with my kids. It's such a shame to have this beautiful establishment with such sour staff. read more

First visit and will definitely be back. I'm gluten free and married to a craft beer lover and this is the perfect place for us. Wine and beer was great. The food was excellent. The vegan bowl is gluten free. Fries are cooked in a designated fryer so are a gluten free bonus! Will try the gluten free brownie next time. read more

Good brewery, but not my favorite. Beer was okay and food was good, but pricey. We were told when we got here we could have our dog inside as long as we stayed in the back and our dog was well behaved, so we ordered beer and food. As soon as we sat down we were told we couldn't have our dog inside. So that was frustrating. Im not mad we couldn't have our dog, I'm mad someone told us we could and then another person told us we couldnt. Anyways, there are better breweries in the valley. read more

The place is beautiful with a big open indoor seating with some outdoor seating as well. The food is good but on the pricier side because it's at a brewery. Went for the grand opening, was just the right amount of busy, the beer was excellent, a lot of choices for darker beers which I liked. The kiwi style food was absolutely stellar. The venue itself was fantastic, gorgeous views and attractive interior with ample space for large parties. Also, to top it off the prices were perfectly reasonable. Will definitely be back! Only one star. I wish I could rate it higher but I wasn't allowed in. As soon as we walked in were met with hostility. The "bouncer" (if she deserves the title) rejected my REAL Ohio ID, even after having shown her a second form. I offered to call the police to have them prove the authenticity of the ID and she said that even if they proved it was real that she would not let me in. I asked if I could go in and just eat and not drink and she said no to that as well. Why? I have no idea. It was 1 pm on a Saturday and I was just trying to enjoy a lunch with friends. We had visited before last Fall and really enjoyed ourselves. We gladly dropped $200+ on food & drinks visiting on a sunny afternoon. We decided to head back again this weekend for a family afternoon visiting our HOKIE. We were there just under an hour, had ordered $115 in food and drink, when a VERY rude employee told us we had to immediately get rid of the snacks we brought in with us. We had no idea outside snacks were not permitted, as we did not see info on website or door posted it was not allowed. We graciously began packing up the snacks as requested, but CLEARLY we were not packing it up fast enough, as within 2 minutes, the same guy came back again and literally pulled the snacks off the table and threw them away. Needless to say, we closed out the tab, and will never return. We are happy to follow rules, but we will not tolerate absolute rudeness. read more

The setting in the Blacksburg industrial park is pleasant with plenty of outdoor space and some good views. The beer and food are solid but don't stand out relative to other brewpubs or even the offerings available in chain restaurants. A big negative is that it's not a very friendly place fore families or professionals, and seems to be set up for maximum control of student crowds. If found the barking employees and strict rules about seating completely off-putting when trying to enjoy a happy hour with some colleagues. read more

Been here tons of times, typically really great. However, recently was denied any alcohol because the person checking IDs determined mine was "fake" even though I gave three different forms of identification, and could answer all questions asked about my "fake ID." We've eaten here before and the food is decent, beers mediocre. But most recently we came here with our 2 year old son and experienced terrible customer service. We looked online for a kids menu (which there was none) so we decided to bring a kids meal in for him because he wouldn't have eaten anything on the listed online menu. We were immediately met at the door to be told they have a "very strict no outside food policy". I explained to the lady that it was a kids meal for our son and we were planning on eating and drinking ourselves but she would not allow the food to be taken in. I told her we would leave as it wouldn't be feasible to stay if there wasn't anything for him to eat. She said ok and then as we walked out she yelled at us that said they have food for kids like a grilled cheese. I'd don't know if that is true as there is no kids menu online. I was very disappointed with how this lady handled our situation. It's hard to say if we will return but they lost business today because they wouldn't let a two year old eat outside food. read more

The savory pies are so good and the fries are AMAZEBALLS. Fond food memories of my time in New Zealand. The pies even come with a little Kiwi flag. Plenty of places to sit and sample both beer and non-alcoholic options on tap. Our kids (5&7) like to come here as there are plenty of inside games and well placed rocks to play on outside. The beer is great and the service is excellent. Big group or small, Eastern Divide is where we bring all our out of town guests. read more

When checking driver's licenses at the entrance, I was asked to produce a second form of identification. It was explained to me by the employee that it was due to an increase in fake IDs. My driver's license and credit card were examined extensively and thoroughly, to the point of discomfort. I spoke with management before leaving to discuss my experience and their policies. It was "assured" to me that they would never hire someone with "those type of views" and told me verbatim "I'm sorry you felt that way but that was not the case". I mentioned other out of state residents, in my group, did not undergoing the same experience as me. I was the only out of state resident and the only black person in this group singled out. I was told it was a decision based on how my driver's license felt in that moment and by no means was discriminatory. This experience was invaliding and lacked any type of accountability, reconciliation or empathy. read more
