This is an amazing brewery right in the middle of town! The atmosphere is great as it is welcoming and fun! The employees are so fun to talk to and gave amazing service. Their beer selection is not as extensive, but the taste makes up for it. The way the flavors hit your tongue is unreal. They have events and food trucks throughout the week as well! This is a really nice brewery. It is on the main street in Salem so parking was the biggest issue we ran into... it didn't help that there was some Halloween festival going on.. We parked a ways off and walked in. The place is spacious and clean. The interior brick walls are really nice!We brought lunch in with us which was fine with the location but they also had a food truck out back. They do have flights now and we did a flight of 4. They also had tvs on the wall which was showing a few different games on the Saturday we were there. This beer is pretty good. I usually don't like beer with a fruit flavor in it but the plush was very good! Definitely worth the trip!! read more

Great building and location. Brick interior is awesome. No flights yet, but coming in the next months. Open since November. Nice variety of beers. Not real impressed with the taste yet. Chill Brewery Downtown Salem with awesome vibes and employees! Great Beer, Great Selection! Definitely our favorite spot to relax and sip a few in the "Noke. Dog friendly if that's your thing, kid friendly as well. The dogs can get loud at times but that's no fault of the brewery. There's a great outdoor space as well, food trucks most days and if not you can get your meal delivered or bring in food or snacks. There's also beer to go and crowler and growler fills. Very very very impressed with one. Their beer selection. From lagers to sours to ipas to stouts. And their prices were very reasonable. They had multiple beers I loved. Their jump lager was amazing and my hands down favorite. The atmosphere was nice and open. Plenty of room. They had a cubby of board games for kids which I thought was really cool! They even had free wings for all their customers tonight which I guess they do on mondays! The employee was very nice and helpful on showing me the beers I would mostly like due to my taste in beer. 10/10 recommend. Overall, not a bad place to check out if you're in the area! The space is really spacious and has got lots of seating and plenty of TVs. Beer wise- we got their 4 IPAs. My favorite was their new england IPA, but they were all just ok with me. Nothing absolutely mindblowing but nothing too disappointing either. I met some of my customers here last evening to have a beer before dinner. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer was cold and good. I thought the service had a lot to be desired. Only one person working that could pour a beer. When I wanted to check out it took a while to get my bill. The reason I didn't rate them higher was the service. I wanted a receipt so I can expense the bill and the server said I can get it electronically. I asked for a printed receipt and he became indignant saying I can't get one there. I suggested that they may want to be able to give a paper receipt to customers in the future and he said it's not happening. He obviously forgot that customers pay the bills and need to be treated with respect. read more

Super chill vibe, workers are always nice and usually very knowledgeable about the beers. Great prices on craft beer and they usually have live music and lots of table games to play like Jenga and Cards Against Humanity, etc. A fun place to go for any age really, and a great place to start off or spend a Saturday night. This is great spot in Salem! The brewery blends a sports atmosphere with the warm feeling of a brewery. With TVs coursing along opposite walls, it is a great spot to grab a beer on a night when UVA basketball is playing. The beers are great too. I'm more of a sour or a gose drinker, and this is one of the few local breweries (if not the only one) that has a good selection of sour beers. They've recently added some outdoor seating for the summer. I predict that the outdoor setting could grow into a decent patio in the upcoming years. read more

We live in Salem and we were really excited about this brewery opening in downtown. They did a really nice job fixing the place up and the interior space (and location), we think, are better than Parkway. That said, we tried 3 beers (Brown ale, porter, and ESB) and were pretty disappointed in all of them. Heavy on the hops for all, and the porter and brown ale just tasted kind of watery and light. We'll certainly give this place another shot since we want to support a local business, so hopefully our second impression will be better. read more
