The staff is so kind and helpful when you need substitutions. They were so courteous and helped me to work around some dietary issues I have had. I make it a point to eat here every time I drive to or through Munising, MI. Good home-cooked meals at awesome prices. Ate there for breakfast again this morning! After ordering, it was about a 5 minute wait for food. No idea why people have said service is slow?? Excellent breakfast with friendly people and atmosphere. read more

The mushroom appetizer was yummy! I had the fish and chips basket. The fish was fresh and amazing, the batter could have used some seasonings. My husband had a burger, again it could have used some seasoning. The staff was very nice, we came in a half in here before they closed and they took us at no hesitation. Stood around for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. Various servers made eye contact with us and others waiting during this time but apparently didn't feel the need to grab a host. The family in front of us finally got seated...then the host didn't come back. Gave up after a few more minutes. In a bind with not many choices, we decided to check this place out after a Pictured Rocks tour. Upon entering and seeing all of the cartoon cutouts on the walls, I was already a bit weirded out. The look of the place is dark, with lots of wood - old wood. The menu is very strangely laid out with wording in a southern drawl that makes it very hard to understand. Our waitress was very nice, however a bit chatty with the locals when other folks needed attention. Salad bar was sub-par, with only iceberg lettuce and a few other additions. Whitefish special was great, but pizza was a frozen crust (on cardboard) with loads of mozzarella cheese slathered on. Prices were a bit high for what we received. Possibly because of tourists, or because of the hard to reach area? I would probably not return if I were from the area. read more

They also advertise many items online menus and then the menu they use is nearly half the size of the online menu. They had no response for why that is. Food options in Munising before Memorial Day are far and few in between, but you're better off just getting gas station sushi than eating here. At least you won't be paying $20 for food poisoning and undercooked pizza. Staff was attentive and friendly, and fast to get refills. However, the wall art looks straight out of Song of the South, with the same subtle racist feeling as well. The entire energy in this restaurant was extremely off-putting, which could have been forgiven had the food been the least bit edible. After reading all the negative reviews we were a bit reluctant to eat here but we gave it a shot. The restaurant is a bit dark and dated but overall it was.... ok. Other than waiting a bit to be seated, the service was acceptable and our server was very friendly. We stayed basic with our order and our burgers were served hot as were the fries. I wouldn't recommend ordering wine as ours came from small bottles the server had to go find. Keep your expectations in check and stay away from the fried stuff and you should be ok. read more

Listen, when you walk in it might look a little janky, but it's delicious. We walked in and there was a wait almost to the door but we waited for maybe 10 minutes. We were seating and had food to us in 20 minutes. I ordered either the Southwest salad and it was SO GOOD. The southwest dressing was addictive. Also snaps to the employees. Odd looking place. Lots of parking and just a few blocks from the Pictured Rocks boat doc. We went for breakfast on a Wed at 945am for breakfast. They don' have the buffet still (Covid). The had a breakfast special for $8.99 two eggs, meat (bacon, sausage or ham), hash browns and 2pcs toast. All of us had the special and it was out in like 5 minutes! Everything was as ordered and there was a lot of food. Servers were friendly. Guests were mainly older couples. Perfect stop before our sightseeing boat ride. Decor is the Lil Abner cartoon motif. In the end, the experience was better, faster, with good food and excellent value, than what we expected going in. Definitely recommend for breakfast while in Munising. read more

Great service! They only had the breakfast buffet available on the Thursday morning we stopped. It was only ok. Limited choices and nothing appeared to be made in house. All frozen or canned??? Not sure. They did have fresh strawberries. Coffee was not great. Price was reasonable so I guess you get what you pay for. Again, service was really good. read more

Don't do it don't come here food is terribly bland my friend saw on the menu "homemade" deserts which was a joke. To start instead of a app my friend ordered their apple cobbler he had a piece of cobbler it was microwaved to scalding hot then instead of ice cream was smothered with soft serve to try and cover any and all up. The rest of us had the burger special and it looked like it had an awesome cook which it did but was a bland piece of meat that there weren't enough toppings to even make this burger taste good. Couldn't seat a table of 8, confused by two tables of 4....slow service and two entrances so you really don't know where you are in line. This is a sandwich, pizza and Salad bar location, good enough for a quick bite that isn't fast food. The service was good but the owner needs to give this place a once over. Bathroom floors are cleaned only in major footpath area and stall doors don't work. The food lacks flavor, perch dinner for $21.95 was bland, needed lemon, salt and pepper to survive. My dining partner had the burger special- bun was smashed and stale, burger was rubber. For $12.95 you might expect a fresh hand patty burger. Saving grace was the KBC beer - but note that there is no bar only beer in cans and bottles. Munising so needs a good bar and good food place. Spent $65 on Perch, a Burger and 2 beers each - worst $65 ever for a meal. read more
