Located inside the Roam Inn, we were treated to a chill covers playlist, good drinks, and good food. Our server was on it - she was juggling several tables but she made it look effortless. The meatball is not spicy - just a perfect blend and flavor. The pierogis were also so good. I opted for the burger and truffle fries - the burger was perfect, but SO MANY FRIES. We stayed at RoamInn and we were too tired to go out for food. It turned out to be one of the wonderful meals I had in the UP. Everything was delicious. Some dishes were on a salty side, but overall amazing meal. The service was great. We had Cassie on the first night and Jamie on the second night. The service was okay... after waiting a few minutes to be sat (no problem at all there) we waited another 10+ minutes for a high chair - yet I told the host we needed one upon arrival. Multiple people walking by every few minutes seeing we were standing up with our 1 year old. Greeted by our server, drinks brought to the table and still no high chair. Tracey's is a great culinary experience, on par with the kind of inventive, locally inspired cuisine you'd expect to find in Chicago or Portland, but with the warmth and authenticity that only a small-town Michigan setting can provide. The service was every bit attentive, in spite of the 40-person party in their banquet room. My Autumn Mushroom Risotto came with a chicken breast I can only describe as the most flavorful chicken I've ever had. If all chicken were prepared with whatever magic they used, chicken would be my favorite meat. I don't know their secret, but I can tell you this dish exceeded my expectations. The Dirty Sue is Tracey's rendition of a dirty martini. It was superb! Not overly briny and the blue cheese stuffed olives were perfect. read more

I am a born NYC girl who now resides in Naples Fl. I appreciate good quality food. Upon visiting the Puctured rocks area we came across this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the whitefish appetizer. That was just perfect. I had the Carbonara for dinner and it was light but extremely tasty. Homemade sauce that was just perfect. My partner had the encrusted white fish. We both had dessert which were equally as good. I can't say enough about the food quality. It was outstanding. If I have any negative thing to say was the appetizer was brought out at the same time as our entrees. I highly recommend this place. This place is a must try if you're going to be in Munising! The restaurant is part of a local inn and has very chic wood cabin vibes. Our server, Madeline, was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious, but the kitchen was pretty slow. We waited about 45 minutes for our food to come out, and we had to quickly pack it up to make it back into town for a sunset boat tour of Pictured Rocks. Stopped for dinner on our way to camp at Pictured Rocks. We were blown away at how delicious the food was. Everything was absolutely incredible. We started with the ricotta caprese and pierogis and I was FLOORED at how much flavor these dishes had. We got the potato chip whitefish per our servers recommendation and holy cow. Can someone say delicious!?! If you're looking for an upscale dinner while visiting the UP then this is the place for you. Reservations not needed and we walked in after hiking all day through the national park, so come as you are. But I do recommend getting there early or after 7 cause the restaurant fills up quickly. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is seasonal; however, they had not yet switched it to their fall/winter menu yet. Starters are served small plate style, but easily serve two. We started our dinner with the whipped ricotta with extra toasted bread. It was delicious, the perfect amount of herbs to balance out the confit garlic. For main dishes the potato chip whitefish in tomato broth was balanced well with herbs. It was the perfect warm dish after a day of hiking in the brisk air. My husband and son shared the surf and turf. Cooked and seasoned to perfection! The zip sauce is a great accompaniment to the steak and potatoes. Don't let the price scare you away. It is worth every penny! We had the ahi tuna, brussels sprouts, and whitefish plates for a healthy and delicious meal. Note: there is no sign for the restaurant, which is why it took us so long to discover it. We had a top notch meal, brussel sprouts were on point, whitefish rav were excellent, bison filet was great, shrimp diavolo was perfectly balanced (right amount of spice for those that can handle the heat), but the real standout was the flank steak frites. We consider ourselves steak snobs (sad but true) and this was the one of the most flavorful, well cooked steaks I've ever had. Truffle fries were decadent and perfectly paired. Cocktail and mocktail game were on point. But the real winner was the amazing service we received from Jamie. She made it such a fun experience, there when we needed her, and had some lovely chats about life in UP and being a 2nd grade teacher (auto sainthood, amiright?!). Best flavor of anything, but suuuuper messy to eat - not well thought out on layering with the bread. Focaccia with ricotta - that was not focaccia, it was grilled sourdough and that was not whipped ricotta, it was cream cheese. 40-day aged prime rib and bison rib eye were bland, chewy, and had zero sear. We should not have had to add salt to these beautiful cuts of meat. Side of broccolini was crunchy and undercooked. And the crispiness of the twice fried fingerling potatoes was lost under too much sauce. The seafood stew had one piece of whitefish!? It was mostly shrimp. In the UP, I expected them to highlight the fish. What a letdown. And the value was PAINFUL: we paid $330 with tip for three people to have a meal that was worth half that at best. My husband and I ate at Tracey's last Friday night, and it may very possibly have been the best meal I have ever had at a restaurant. We were NOT expecting that based on location- in our experience, restaurants in the UP can get away with being "meh" because, well I don't know... not a lot of choices? People are in the area for the outdoor experiences and not the food. And so, if you are a person who loves the beauty of the UP and also loves delicious food, you must go to Tracey's! I'll get the only negative out of the way at the top: the music did not fit the experience, in our opinion. Most of what we heard were terrible, whiney covers of classic rock songs. This was weird and jarring compared to the nice ambience and delicious food. Just some soothing piano or jazz would've fit much better. Other than that, neither of us had any complaints. Service was attentive and helpful without being overbearing, and the place was aesthetically pleasing outside and in. Now, on to the scrumptious food: Their menu is designed around sharing, so several of the items are served in a way that is conducive to that - we shared the Butter Lettuce salad and the Surf and Turf for two. Every. Single. Bite. Was Delicious!!! Chateaubriand, Lobster tail, Shrimp Scampi, Fried Whitefish, and even the potatoes and asparagus were just top notch. Not a single bite was lacking anything. The food here is very good. They also have really good drinks that are non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic beverages. The service was good , our waitress was very kind and always checked on us. Exceptional food and service. It was my 44th Anniversary Dinner, have had a summer home in the area for decades and hands down this place is FABULOUS. Arrived at 4p for cocktail hour and all mixed drinks were 1/2 off. Had a blue cheese stuffed olive martini and a smoky old fashion. Most small plates: smoked dill white fish dip and pesto spread on toast. Then a summer strawberry spinach salad and beef taco in yummy sauce. Topped it off with chocolate lava cake and fresh brew coffee ! The view over Lake Superior on the deck was awe inspiring on a hot sunny day. All for $102 as it has happy hour (3-5p). Highly recommended trying it! Posted the signage as some say it's difficult to find which is hilarious with google maps. My husband and I came here on his birthday trip to have a nice dinner and celebrate. Service was very slow, but we didn't mind as we knew this was a more upscale place and we knew the food would be good and worth the wait. We had the calamari, gnocchi, and burger, and we did enjoy them. However, when we went to order desert we were told they were out of the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake which were the only two deserts on the menu. No problem - we were sad but understanding... until the server at the table next to us offered a creative ice cream desert solution that sounded simple and great. This was something that was not offered to us, even as a substitute, even after discussing it was my husband's birthday. I want to be very clear - we are disappointed in the lack of hospitality at what is clearly supposed to be a more elevated experience in the area, not the fact that we didn't get dessert. We know things run out and happen, and we were totally fine until we saw other servers going out of their way to make things right. We are disappointed in our server and the service we received. I love coming here for cocktails when I'm in Munising. It's friendly and fun. If you like whiskey or scotch they have a lot of options. They have beer and wine too. Usually 4 beers on tap. You are sure to get local beers on tap too. They do a daily special that's tasty and fresh. The barkeep usually knows their stuff so you can order a classic cocktail or any off menu cocktail. The only thing I don't love is the lime juice is not fresh squeezed. They order it in and one tender said it's a week long shelf life. Either way, daily squeezed citrus is the way to go for cocktails. They need a few better gin options too. The inside is adorable. The deck has outdoor seating that's lovely. You can see LAKE Superior and the view is lovely. If you are eating please get the cheese curds or the Brussels sprouts. So ferocious. Like delicious and incredible.
