You walk in and you immediately are greeted by a warm person at the front desk. You walk in and the place is so chic and beautifully laid out! It is small so tables are limited. You need to make reservations in advance for a table. It overlooks the track so that was entertainment for the kids. I wouldn't say it is necessarily family friendly, especially small kids, but our kids were fine dining there. They don't have a kids menu but the chef was able to make the kids some simple things they loved - pasta and cheese!! The highlight though was the Porsche shaped butter. That was THE absolute coolest thing ever. It came in a little dish with the bread. My kids and I loved it!!! It was a really nice touch to our meal. The food was really exceptional. One of the best places I've dined in a long time - even including Michelin star restaurants!! The dishes were so beautifully and delicately prepared - we had the octopus appetizer, the homemade pasta dish, the heirloom salad and Ofocurse we couldn't pass dessert! Dessert: if you are a tiramisu lover like me you MUST try the tiramisu-choux. It's a whole different take on this Italian dessert! Overall this place was absolutely INCREDIBLE. From the ambiance, to the service, to the delicious noteworthy mouthwatering food you totally need to come here. I already want to come back next time we visit !!! If you want to have an amazing dining experience, you totally need to come here!

If that doesn't get you pumped, not sure what else will! Highly recommend you make reservations way in advance. Looks like they also have a room for a small party of meeting. Note they are only open for lunch. Parking lot is huge. As you walk in, you are greeted to check in. If you are booked for an experience, you get a fun lanyard to wear. Visitors, you get a sticker, lol. The restaurant is on the second floor, so you can take the stairs or there is an elevator. You're greeted again at the host's station. We got there early so started off with a cocktail. We both tried the 917 Old Fashioned which was delicious and they sear the 917 and Porsche logo which was super fun! They start off with pretzel breads with cute butters shaped like Porsche cars! They do have a couple chairs in front of the host table as well as a bar area. Bathrooms are back towards the host area. Huge and clean! There is a viewing station as well that you can walk outside from this area to watch the track from the top and that did not disappoint. You can get seats inside right at the window and watch the experiences. So fast and loud! We had a great time!

I love the music they play. I am so sick of elevator music and they don't do that. I really enjoy that. All of their food is great, but I am hooked on their salads. Their Sartori Caesar is one of my favorites. It has super fresh crisp romaine hearts with freshly grated parmesan cheese, sourdough croutons and house-made Caesar dressing. I love the dressing. Their Big Newport Wedge is better than most is has the best iceberg wedge topped with applewood smoked bacon, balsamic red onion, tomato and a great blue cheese dressing. All the food is great and we eat more than just salad, but their salad is a stand out.

I've been here a handful of times and I might be done. I wouldn't argue that the food is mediocre,…read morebut it's not great either. I've gotten fish and chips a bunch of times; sometimes the fish great--but sometimes it is slightly under-fried. Today I tried their fried chicken sandwich and it was not great. The menu described the sandwiches coming with pickled vegetables, but it was very plain. The brioche bun was great, but it's not the selling point. The fries oddly also always come with a teaspoon of ketchup. My biggest gripe is the service. I stopped by to have lunch with my mom. I ordered a soda before we placed our food order. While we looked over the menu, I took a few sips of the soda and finished it. My mom drank her water, and finished it. The server came back and took the order, the drinks were empty and never refilled. Whatever, NBD. However, 10 more minutes passed and I flagged down a different server and asked for a refill. (My server had disappeared). The food came out eventually, my drink was nearly empty again--no refill. The runner asked if I needed anything else after setting the food down and I again asked if I could grab a refill (the server still has not come back to the table). I looked around and he was chatting it up with a bartender leaning against the wall and giggling. Super annoying-- I'm glad the culture here means that the employees are friends and can talk and joke around. I don't need constant engagement, but you can't let drinks stay empty for lengthy periods of time. Half way done with the food, we still had empty drinks. Server never came back, runner never came back. Finished the food and sat for ten mins. Flagged down yet again another server and asked for the check. My server made his was over with the check--tips START at 25%, then 23%, then 20% Our lunch was about $70 (without the tip). This isn't McDonald's. The food was meh and the service was terrible. The cost did not make me feel like there was any value given the lack of attentiveness and quality of the meal.

You'll need to find street parking, but there's plenty in the nearby neighborhoods. The restaurant itself is really small too, with just a bench outside to wait on. We came on a Sunday at brunch time and it was pretty busy, but we only waited about 15 minutes before being seated. The inside is small as well. Our server was really nice. We couldn't decide what to get because everything on the menu sounded so good, so we asked for suggestions. We ended up splitting the loaded hash browns, crab cake Benedict, shrimp and grits, and cinnamon roll pancakes. It was definitely a lot of food for the three of us, but so worth it. Everything tasted amazing! Definitely would recommend this place for brunch.

DINING While Black…read more The 908 Restaurant Environment 1-5: 5 I really appreciated the ambiance and decor of the space. After enduring weeks of record breaking heat in Long Beach, this was the perfect place to land as the Summer Breeze... Makes Me Feel Fineeee again. A very well but gently lit space that still feels cozy and spacious. The outside gives no indication of how well the inside has been designed. Great for lunch or dinner dates. Noise level was low and there's no feeling of a chaotic restaurant environment. Food/Service 1-5: 4.8 I order the shrimp and lobsters fettuccine, bone marrow as an appetizer. My company ordered the lamb burger. All dishes we beautifully plated; true works of art. Neither of us had any complaints about presentation and creativity. As far as taste and as excited as we were to dig in to our food, the ONLY setback was the lack of seasoning mainly salt. I'm aware that a Chef does their best to meet the expectations of their guest. I'm also aware that meeting everyone's expectations is impossible. To confirm my advice of needing some salt in the food I patrons the restaurant twice, two days in a row. The food needs more salt and I stand solid on that opinion. The service was great and I thanked Mel for taking such great care of us. Mel is a rockstar! Diversity score 1-5: 4 The restaurant definitely appeals to diverse crowds. It reminded of the days I frequented Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster in Harlem, NY. Go again score 1-5: 5, Absolutely. I do hope I don't have to keep bothering the server for salt and pepper.

Today I tried the Chico Cubano bowl with pulled pork, beans, plantains, and I chose greens and white rice as my bases. I couldn't believe that yet again Chinollo packed so much flavor into this bowl!!!! WOW! The pork was succulent and tender with great seasoning, the plantains were the perfect sweet complement - excellent texture to the plantains. The rice is sticky and perfectly cooked and the beans were delicious. The picked red onions provided the perfect amount of acidity. The only thing - I would not recommend the greens with this bowl since the beans kinda take over the base. But hey, it was still delicious, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I did learn you want to order ahead of time at lunch. That way it's ready when you get there. I did have to wait, but only for about 10 minutes after I placed my order on the kiosk. But it was PACKED right at lunch time and parking was even difficult to find even though theyre in a strip mall area with lots of parking. If you have time to eat in, they've done a good job with the seating area. It's a casual restaurant with lots of great flavors. Can't wait to try another bowl at some point!

A New Job, A New Milestone & A Chance to Rewrite the Narrative…read more My best friend and I have a tradition of celebrating new jobs with a nice dinner. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed. My best friend got the celebration she wanted -- and a much better Bo-Beau experience this time around. Will definitely be returning!

I've been about 2-3 times now, and the food has consistently been really good. That being said, I would definitely recommend a little more customer service training for the servers. Everyone I've encountered has been very nice, but sometimes it's the simple things, like showing that you're happy to serve your paying customers and making sure they feel taken care of. Each time I've visited, we've found ourselves waiting close to 30 minutes for our server to come by for refills, a to-go box, or even the check. I completely understand that mistakes happen and that things can get busy. I've worked in the restaurant industry before, so I really do try my best to be understanding. However, during one of my recent visits, my order came out incorrectly. There was an item on my plate that I had specifically requested not to have. Of course, mistakes happen, and I had no issue communicating the mistake to my server. What bothered me was that instead of apologizing for the error, she looked at me and simply walked away with the plate. I assumed it was a minor mistake and that she would have the order corrected. I could have just removed the item myself, but at the same time, I shouldn't have to pick through my food after receiving an incorrect order when I'm paying for it. When she brought the plate back, she simply left it on the table without saying anything or acknowledging the mistake. I actually found myself apologizing to her for making her do the extra work, and she just walked away. Overall, I really do think Luna is a great restaurant with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. I'm sharing this feedback because I think with some improvement in customer service, communication, and wait times, Luna has the potential to be even better. I would definitely come back, and I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism rather than anything negative.
