I had Dog Haus first time and multiple times in Long Beach. Although, I can say I had high expectations for the Carson location after doing LB so many times, they did not meet my expectations. I waited about 20-30 minutes while no one else was there. Other than that, the customer service was great from the cashier. The rest of the line of staff just stared. The food tasted as expected, up to par it was just too greasy. The Bad Mutha Clucka Salad displayed, is more like a coleslaw with chicken. My family and I had a great meal tonight despite all the COVID craziness going on in the world. I had a Holy Aioli burger with a Firestone IPA beer and it HIT THE SPOT. I have no idea what my wife and kid ordered, because I was way too immersed in my own experienced, but needless to say, they enjoyed their food too. The place was a little empty tonight, but I don't see why. The food was good, they serve beer, its right in the neighborhood for Carson residents, it's only 1 block away from the Sheriffs Department, so it's probably the safest place you could be in the city. We happened to meet the owner tonight and were really impressed with her knowledge and ambition to stay on top of all the latest county regulations regarding COVID, and we definitely feel safe eating here. People may look at the sign Dog Haus and assume this is a big corporate owned restaurant, but it's actually a franchise owned by a local family under the banner of Dog Haus. You almost get the sense that you're cared for as if you were having dinner at a friend's house when eating here. I really hope Carson locals will support this business now, because most small business owners are rapidly going out of business during this pandemic, and it would be shame to have a local gem like this disappear. Hmm...haha. This place is okay. I came here with some friends. I've eaten at this place before, but it has been a while, so I don't quite remember how it was like. All hot dogs come on King's Hawaiian rolls. I got the Free Bird (which was a turkey dog with avocados, a slice of bacon, a slice of tomato, and some "miso ranch" that I got on the side). Honestly. . .it was just okay. I couldn't really tell what was so good about it. I think the Hawaiian bread was gimmicky and I was too aware of what I was eating (health-wise). I am also so thankful that I got the sauce on the side because it just tasted like pure ranch. There was nothing miso about it. There was a lot, too, so it would have smothered my turkey dog. (4/10) My boyfriend got the Cowboy & he even said there was so much sauce that he had to take his tater tots to use it as a dipping sauce. All in all, I feel like these hot dogs are good to try, but there is too much placed on it to really enjoy it as a hot dog. I saw my friend's hot dog & I didn't even see the sausage. Came in here after looking up places to eat on yelp around 8pm on a Thursday and found that this place didn't close till 10pm. I had seen the name of this place before in other cities and states but had yet to try it and now since it's one right in the city I live in, why not try it now!? Came in with a text message of what my family wanted for themselves but had no idea what I wanted for myself. After doing an order for them, I myself chose the love boat with fries and pastrami and a bratwurst with some tasty trimmings on it. I was even able to grab a veggie apple sausage that I found was actually vegan too so that my grandmother could have somethiing to eat too. Let's just say I hate ordering food and bringing it back to my family because something is always wrong about the order or there is someone who doesn't like what their order came back as. Came here around 9pm on a Friday night and there was no wait. I'm thankful for the free parking in the parking garage located in the same plaza. This is a fast casual restaurant where you order from a menu located at the cash register area and then sit at any open table you choose with your number. All their sandwich buns and hot dog buns are made with kings Hawaiian sweet bread which they toast. Customer service was on it--they were all friendly, attentive, and courteous. My group ordered a hamburger, 2 different kinds of hot dogs, and sliced sausage. We also ordered their onion rings and sweet potato fries. I couldn't find anything to complain of with our experience and food. I'd recommend this place for a bite to eat when in the area! read more

Wieners and Brats Chain On Carson/Avalon in the Shops at City Center I was yelping and saw that April Rose P checked into Dog Haus, but where? Carson! They just opened one up in Carson! I have been wanting to check out Dog Haus for a long time but all the locations are somewhat Geographically Undesirable, until this week! I was surprised I didn't notice that Dog Haus was going to open on my last trip to IKEA, but as you can tell by my enthusiasm I am excited. So why the 4 stars? 4 stars is what happens when you have stellar expectations and the experience does not follow. I parked right on Avalon, although the parking garage is ample and will hopefully all the fans going to and from the Stub Hub center, which may cause a queue out the door eventually. Chalk it up to opening pains, since on Sunday at 8PM there was almost a line out the door without an event going on down the street, maybe since there is only one person taking your order? I guess this is by design not to swamp out the tiny expo kitchen. Speaking of exposition there is a small meat case with the uncooked tube steaks on display in wiener and sausage form. Naked and Bacon wrapped and all labelled so you know what your going to get. Like listed on the menu they use all hormone and antibiotic free wieners and sausages. I went with a Downtown dog, mini corn dog, and St Archer Pale Ale draught. I was surprised that I was the only one with a beer. Was it Church night? The cashier handed me a number and I made a beeline for the patio. What better than a cold draft beer, a bacon wrapped dog with grilled onions on a kings hawaiian rolls (3 of them), oh yeah check out all the pics posted by the business owner, sitting out on a balmy South Bay night. My first bite was like "this is a really great dog" but the hawaiian sweet rolls are big, but they add to the whole "umami" of the experience. Here is where they lose a star. The mini corn dog was mini on the batter. I think it is called a "corn" dog instead of a dog corn because there should be thick sweet breadiness instead of thin crispiness, but hey, if it is there thing I gotta respect that and it may work out for them. It just does not work for me. If tube steak is not your thing, which is totally understandable, then they have burgers and sliders so you can still get your beef, or turkey, or chicken on. read more

Such a huge disappointment! I was so excited they opened a Dog Haus in the Southbay. I've been to the Pasadena location and in my opinion, that location is managed far better than the Carson one. We ordered around 5:50pm on a Saturday night, there was one other table waiting for their food and we let a young girl behind us order up ahead to go. After waiting for what seemed forever, our food came out stone cold!!! 30mins in my opinion for cold tater tots and cold hot dog is just not acceptable! I immediately took my tater tots back and asked for a new batch. My hubby, not the complaining type refused to eat his stone cold hot dog. I gave him my freiburger, which by the way is absolutely disgusting with temperate fries. My little princess ordered the kids meal with a slider and hot dog, came with fries and a drink. Sometimes they are backed up, because of how popular they are, but they make sure that if we have to wait long, that day apologize for it and are very empathetic. Decided to try this place out for dinner since it was just downstairs from my friends' apartment and we were too lazy to think and drive somewhere else to eat. I've heard of and seen pictures of Dog Haus somewhere on social media, but was actually surprised and somewhat excited to find out that there was a new location in my area. I'm not too much of a hot dog/sausage fan, but I do only go to two places if I'm ever craving it: Pink's (in the OG LA location only, the one in Del Amo is subpar) and Costco. However, I was willing to give Dog Haus a chance in helping me find a new go-to place for a heavier hot dog instead of having to drive all the way to LA for Pink's. Upon walking in, it was a cool little "bro" looking place. Basically it looked like somewhere the bros would go to eat and crack some cold ones with the boys. It was cozy. But anyway, let's talk about the food. The one's that stood out the most to my boyfriend and I belonged to the sausage section, the Thai Fighter and the Cocky Balboa. There were a few other ones I would be willing to try, but we'll stick with these for now. We also got the Love Boat, which was basically your choice of either fries or tater tots, topped with their haus slaw and chili. My boyfriend LOVES spice, so the Thai Fighter seemed to be the spiciest with its spicy curry bratwurst, jalapeños, and spicy aioli sauce. To our surprise, it was actually pretty spicy for him and he enjoyed that, especially because he can handle spiciness well. However, despite the good kick, he concluded that it deserved a 3/5. I had the Cocky Balboa, and there's not much I can really say about it. There was no outstanding taste to it to be completely honest. It got me satisfied, and I thoroughly enjoyed the arugula in the mix, but I wouldn't buy it again. I would rate it a 2/5. The Love Boat was alright too. It pretty much tasted like chili cheese fries because the Haus slaw was pretty bland in my opinion. I'm thinking it would've tasted better with the tater tots instead of French fries, but we'll see maybe next time. Boyfriend liked it though, and gives it a 4/5 because the fries were crispy, chili wasn't oily, and slaw seemed fresh. But I would give it a 3/5, nothing special. I also tried a bite of my friend's order of the Holy Aioli burger, and I liked it a lot more than our order. It just had a nice meatier taste to it, so maybe I'll try a burger next time. The sweet potato fries were good too, perfect sweetness and texture. Despite the average ratings, I loved how they used Hawaiian rolls as their buns. I grew up eating it plain, so to have them be incorporated into things like this, it would definitely have me come back. It's an interesting place to try out, but if I'm ever craving a hefty hot dog, I would be willing to drive over to the OG Pink's, or Costco and I would still be more satisfied. read more
