Brisket was ok nothing special ( It was very bland, not much of the smoke flavor I expected). Had to use BBQ sauce to give it any flavor. Small portions with their food. The beers on tap are astounding in both number and variety. There are so many local choices available, and it is really hard to choose what you want to start out with first. Whatever your choice, do pair your selection with the Redneck Fries. Fries, cheddar cheese sauce, jalapeños, brisket, and barbecue sauce...that's their best appetizer. My go-to for the main meal is the 2 or 3 meat plate. I always go for the turkey...it's smoked, and oh so good! The sandwiches are so good, too! They really pile on the meat!! The service here is impeccable. We started with the Redneck Fries, which were French Fries, cheddar cheese sauce mixed with beef brisket. That was Divine. The fries were seasoned with something tasty and the brisket was good. For the entree, I had the Notorious P.I.G. which is sausage, pulled pork and ribs. The sausage was very good, the ribs were delicious, the pulled pork I did not taste, but took home. Too much food to eat at once. For the sides I had the cole slaw and the potato salad. The slaw was terrible. It was basically chopped veggies in a cup, no flavor, no seasoning, nothing. The potato salad was just ok, it was not your traditional mustard based (which I love) but different. It had some individual potato pieces in it, but also some pasty, mashed pieces, which took away from the dish. My dinner mate had the chicken, which was bad. The skin was tough and the inside juicy. It was difficult to eat and seemed undercooked, so it didn't come off the bone at all. read more

I have only been here once and the only thing i got was a drink. Came back a second time because i heard so many praises about the food. So it probably wasn't the smartest idea to come here on the 4th of July because Doc's ended up running out of ribs and chicken. I decided to settle with a bbq pulled pork sandwich with Mac n cheese on the side. My bf got the redneck fries and we actually ended up splitting everything. Doc's has a really good bbq sauce and both our meals were very good. My bf and I ended up not finishing all the redneck fries because it was just so much food! It was delicious though. Doc's also has a pretty decent beer list but I wish they could get more 18th street beers on tap! Also I would love to see cornbread make it on their sides menu, I think it would make an excellent side for the BBQ that they have. read more

We had our daughter's couples shower here and could not have been more pleased! It was a great celebration with excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere. It was a pleasure to work with Carly during our planning- she was so helpful, quick to respond and accommodating. Brent was there while we were setting up and actually went to Menard's to pick up the lights when I (subtly) hinted how great it would look. We also met Dr. Doshi who was just as nice. The staff was outstanding, professional, and super attentive. Noah was great and Courtney and Nikko were awesome - so sweet, funny, and hardworking. Came here with a girlfriend to meet up for her belated birthday celebration. A couple things - I was really hoping the chicken would be pulled - but unless you order the sandwich - the chicken is on the bone. I'm not a huge chicken-on-the-bone fan. So instead I when with the brisket and pulled pork combo. Both were very good, and I really enjoyed the sauces. I ordered the beans and Carolina slaw. I wasn't familiar with a Carolina slaw, so I was a little taken back by the spiciness and it wasn't exactly my favorite. The beans were delicious, however. And the only other sad part - NO CORNBREAD. Cornbread to BBQ is like shoelaces are to gym shoes. You just get a sad slice of white bread. Then they tempted me with peanut butter pie. It was chilled (kind of reminded me of like a frozen mousse) and I had a hard time trying to get thru it with my fork without shooting it across the room, but it was very, very tasty. 1/20/2018 We stopped in after shopping in the hopes of having a great meal and a few drinks. Well that isn't what happened, Stephanie ordered pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and I had the prime rib with fries and potato chips. Well I am on a now carb diet so all I was going to eat was the prime rib it was ok, luke warm at best the flavor was ok, but the temperature was what really set me off parts of it were just cold, I ate it all anyway. I also didn't realize that it was 22.00 for that small of a cut of steak. Stephanie just didn't care for anything that she ordered, the server was fantastic and asked if everything was ok and I think she could tell but we aren't people that are going to complain and through a stink in the restaurant. If I were to make changes I would want to know that my steaks are the correct temp going out the table!! Ordered a 3-meat plate through Doordash, assuming it would be enough food for two people considering it was $30. Turns out it isn't enough food for one person. Five small pieces of cut up sausage, five small pieces of brisket, and THREE ribs. The two sides came in containers you would put sauce in. The meat was okay, the sides were bland, and two out of the five sauces were good. It's baffling that this place thinks that food was worth $30. Also, ordered fried pickles, which barely had batter on them. And they forgot our drink. Never again. read more

For some reason what is printed on the menu is a total different price from what you are charged. It clearly says $6 for a pint of Matilda but they charged us $9 a beer. I never knew this place existed and it's so close to home! The food is delicious. Definitely make room to try their smoked wings. We had rib tips as they were the daily special and they were tender and delicious. The came with a mop and a dry rub and had so much flavor. Service was fantastic, and the manager was super nice too. One of my favorite restaurants in the area for good down-home barbecue. The pulled pork is phenomenal the choice of sauces is great from Mild to Wild. The prices are decent and you get a good portion. I've been to Docs on a few occasions and I've not been disappointed. read more

Doc's is back and the barbecue is better than ever. A lot of restaurants are great the first few months and then slowly decline, not Doc's. They just keep getting better as far as barbecue goes. The wings, ribs, and pulled pork are outstanding. Unfortunately I am not a fan of the new coleslaw (bring back the old) and while I don't often get the mac and cheese, my kids prefer the old mac and cheese recipe. Tried them out today. It is very clean and well run inside. Upon entering you do not get the usual smoky wood smell of a smokehouse. We ordered and sat, the food was up in less than 10 minutes which is very fast. The portion sizes were good for the price. The problem is the lack of flavor in all. The meats are all very most but no smoky flavors. The Mac and cheese tastes like a frozen stouffers Mac with no flavor. The potato salad was good but very small amount. The chicken sandwich with potato salad was 14.00 and for that price you would expect more. I guess the lack of aroma upon entering should've been an indicator of the need for more wood to be used. read more

The food was served surprisingly fast, which probably explains the luke-warm temperature..... cooked early and kept warm. Now that places are opening up, we are trying out new places. This one we should have skipped. The chicken sandwich was fine, the coleslaw was vinegar and mayo. Note vinegar listed 1st because that is what flavor you get 1st. The fries? BORING, unless you pay 14$ to have them loaded up. AND then you get cheese from a can AND still need to salt them. The mac and cheese has so little flavor you should just skip it. Go for the sandwich and not the platter better value. Also dont forget to ask for bar-b-que sauce or you will have an absolutely flavorless meal. Obviously we will not be going back to spend another $50 on a meal like this. read more

In town for business and came here yesterday for lunch on the recommendation of a friend and she hit the nail on the head! Owner was born in Texas and raised in Alabama...He had Alabama White Sauce! Wings were fantastic! Best fried pickles I've had in a looooooong time...Mac N Cheese was creamy and the Brunswick Stew rivaled some of the best I've had too. We are from IL.. going to casino to see cult concert, which was awesome ! Anyway , This place had a great beer selection and great wings. My first time at docs and I must say the bbq is really good I got the judges table so I could sample everything all of the meats which included brisket,sausage,smoked turkey,smoked wings,ribs and pulled pork all were fantastic now the Mac n cheese and greens was both horrible the Mac n cheese tasted like dry plain pasta with no cheese and the greens were greasy (which is odd) and to vinegary but it's a bbq place so only the proteins are all I care about I'll will be back I'll just skip the sides read more

Okay so we just visited Doc's Barbeque restaurant in Dyer Indiana. The food was very delicious the craft beer selection was over 40+ beers. The wait staff was very knowledgeable about the specials of the day the beer and the food. The owner came out very frequently to talk to everybody in the restaurant to see if our service was up to par comma and assisted the wait staff. Before COVID-19 this was hands-down absolutely the number one wing in the region. However post COVID-19 I visit your establishment twice now and have ordered the wings and pig wings and both times they were extremely overcook and petrified. Had a great dinner. The Restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly. It was a Thursday evening, and while they had a nice crowd, it was not packed and we never felt rushed to finish eating and leave. There was live music which was a nice touch. The food was awesome! We started with a Wings appetizer, which was great! I had the 2 meat plate. Brisket and Pulled Pork with a side of Cole Slaw and Fries. The meat was so tender, you do not need to use a knife to cut it. Just pull it apart with your fork! If you have the Brisket, order the fatty cut, not the lean if you like your Brisket tender. The bar with something like 60 craft beers on tap is a wonder to behold. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant and would not hesitate to return. read more
