Reminds me of downtown Las Vegas where I used to live. It's a cool spot! The staff, Michelle and Greg were so awesome! We enjoyed hearing some downtown Hammond history. The smash burger? OMG! Christina is perhaps the the greateat human being that has ever breathed the same air as the rest of us. I've actually started breathing less because I truly feel that she deserves the oxygen more than my 3 out of 10 stars self (on my best day). She is both the saving light of the moon and the shimmering beautiful darkness where its light does not linger. It's been rough lately, knowing how far I would have to climb to be able to meet her eyes as an equal. I humbly take my place as one of her beloved rounders amd supporters. She is our Queen. I would learn to ride a horse, just to ride to war on a horse for her. It will be a war I would personally start, for I am her loyal subject and she is our beloved leader and sling slanger of the high life. As not what your bartender can do for you, but what you can do for your queen. My only regret is that my review can never be beautiful enough to capture her glory. If you get the wings, try the chili lime. Much love. Mad respect. read more

Let me start by saying this review is by no means a reflection from the server Melissa. In fact, she's great!! However, I've been drinking a cider and framboise combo for sometime now, but Flat Rock has decided to change their policy about how to charge for this SINGLE BEER beverage. Today I ordered 2 of these (1 for myself and another for a friend) and was charged for FOUR beverages. In reality I should be able to purchase one of each beer and just pour each into two glasses for the combo (which I will specify in the future) but NO the policy is for each combo drink 2 beers are purchased. So between the 2 of us, each having only 2 drinks, we were charged for EIGHT BEERS! This is ridiculous. My one drink was not worth $23!! For a frequent flyer at this establishment I'm highly disappointed in this new policy. I've learned my lesson and will specify in the future to Melissa how I want my drinks poured and I will write a note each time for her boss as well!! UGH!! read more

Both beer aficionados and domestic lovers alike should make this their regular hang out. Flat Rock's specialty beer selection is constantly changing. On any given day, you might be able to get Bell's Oberon or a Lindeman's Framboise on tap. Two-Hearted Ale your favorite? You might find that on tap too - they have tons on tap daily. Microbrew and specialty beer lovers will almost always find something new to try. If it's a simple cold one you desire, the fun, friendly bartenders will make you feel right at home. Everything is very reasonably priced, from domestics to mixed drinks and wine. And if you're hungry, definitely stop in to grab lunch or dinner. Everything is delicious and made to order. And yes, they even carry some vegetarian friendly items and run daily specials. Flat Rock is a rarity in Northwest Indiana - a casual place where you can meet some friends, grab some tasty vittles, and relax. read more

This bar literally "Rocks"! The sandwiches are all awesome. Great burgers and the BLT is the biggest sandwich I have ever seen! Did I mention the tater tots and warm crunchy chips! The beers are always cold! I suggest the local favorites..Three Floyds on tap. This bar is also one of the few bars in the region with Magners Cider on tap!! Try it!! Great customers and owners are always present and it is a great atmosphere for local music and watching your favorite sporting event. The bartenders are all a lot of fun and service is always exceptional! Don't pass up a chance to stop at Flat Rock for lunch or drinks! Cheers! We phoned into this joint to reserve their upper room for a gathertng and they said we could come in and get the room. We show up 20 + only to be turned away. They said we needed to have booked in advance when the room was AVAILABLE and we DID phone ahead 4 HOURS!! There was no place for the 20 of us to be seated and rather than accomadate, they let us walk out... Waitress said they could not get a hold of their boss... That is hard to believe. COULD IT HAVE BEEN BECAUSE THE COLOR OF OUR SKIN THAT THEY COULD HAVE NOT ACCOMADATED?!?!?!??? read more

I was there Oct 5 when the person complained on here about the bartender came in. They walked in, disregarded the sign about wearing masks, and the bartender telling them they needed them to walk around. Either he, or one of his friends licked decorations, spit on the table and yelled "Covid!" and walked out. The immature jerks made a pregnant woman come in and clean up after themselves, subjecting her to to whatever they might have been carrying. I don't think the problem was on the employee side of the bar. read more

Fun bar. We went for supper on a Thursday night. There were a couple of usuals that invited us. We requested a couple of mixed drinks and the barkeep disclosed to us their pineapple juice wasn't great so I am thinking this is place where you go for brew and sustenance. Sustenance was shockingly astounding. Burger was a little overcooked for my enjoying yet it was still great. Potato tots were firm outwardly and delicate in within. Delicious! read more

Served me raw chicken wings, owner didn't give a crap, and let his friends try to intimidate customers, then has nothing to say when intimidation doesn't work.
