49th anniversary
Donna F.

Our first trip to Vancouver for 49th anniversary, dined at the Dockside restaurant, several times , Best eggs Benedict ,great breakfast burger both served w/great side potatoes , wellness shots were tasty & healthy ! Service was good. Celebrated our anniversary a day early outdoors, w/appetizers & Dom Perignon. Our waiter Leonardo was such a professional, who also seemed genuinely happy to be our waiter! Thank you !

We usually love this restaurant but giving it a slightly lower rating than usual cuz the desserts were not up to par this time. Hubby also said that his steak was a bit on the tough side. They seemed to have changed the menu since the last time we were here. They took away the chickpea fries known as Panisse. I was quite sad to see that gone from the menu. Aside from my husband's steak being a bit tough, everyone else seemed to be happy with their entrees. I very much enjoyed my Summer Greens salad which had pickled berries, goat cheese, candied pecans and a shallot vinaigrette. For dessert I ordered the Noir Chocolate Cake which was a plant based cake. One might argue that it wasn't so great because it was a plant based dessert but I think that would be a pretty weak argument. I have tasted plant based desserts that were far superior to this. This cake was quite dense and challenging to cut through with my fork. Wasn't impressed with it. I heard the Tiramisu wasn't so great either. A Tiramisu typically has coffee flavor in it, but my husband told me he couldn't taste any coffee flavor in it. Sure hope things are better again whenever next we come to this restaurant.

We came to Dockside for an early brunch on my bike ride with a friend this morning to take advantage of the morning side on their patio. We both had the Rewind Light Lager on draft and we shared 2 entrées (oyster mushroom calamari and spinach dip as we) instead of the main courses. The calamari was surprisingly very good despite the fact that there was no squid. The oyster mushrooms gave a crunchy and springy bite. While there was more roux than spinach in the dip, it was tasty nonetheless and the pita wedges were well roasted. The lager went down so quickly and easily that we didn't realize we got the 20oz instead of the 16oz (we had wanted to get but didn't specify when ordering) until we were paying the bill. At the end, I'm glad we got the 20oz. It was a nice stop on our ride.

Cajun/creole chicken (can't remember which)

We came here for dinner after spending the afternoon walking around Granville island. The service was amazing, and we were seated outside looking over the water which was gorgeous on a sunny evening. The food was delicious, and the perfect portion size, and we got the tiramisu for dessert. Would love to come back the next time we're in the area!

We happened to stumble upon this place after a local from Vancouver suggests it during our visit to Grannery Island. There used to be a Micro Brew here but it is no longer there. We had a light lunch including the Tempura Mushrooms, the Seared Tuna Salad, and Mediterranean Charcuterie Board. The view and the drinks were amazing. We will come back again.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. The restaurant is quite beautiful especially the patio with an amazing view! They actually have quite a good selection of food on their menu which is great! They had a decent amount of dairy free, gluten free and vegan items. The great thing was that they actually noted on their menu which items were GF, DF, vegan or vegetarian. A lot of restaurants get noticed don't often note DF free items so it was nice to see this restaurant did do that. Our server was also great - wonderful service. The only thing(s) I would note is that it is a little pricy and it's also not the easiest to get to via transit (if you're transitting) but I would say it is worth trying out.

Food was pretty good, views were amazing. Service was great, our server loved to make conversation.

Compared to other fine dining areas in hotels, this one was average. The food itself were options that you could get anywhere. My party ordered the Steak and Frites, Warm Mushroom (salad with add-on of steak), and Scallops. Overall, an average meal but the steak quality can be described as chewy and hard to eat. The other dishes were delicious and nice to try. The service was nice and lived up to decent expectations for restaurant staff. A pleasant environment where you can go if you're finding trouble eating at a sit-down restaurant.

This location was worth the stop. I was not impressed with their menu selection and our server chose to argue with our hostess in front of us which was a bit awkward. We came for the view and drinks which was enjoyed. I recommend the limoncello spritz! I can imagine the experience would be better next time!

Steelhead Salmon ($32)

Wow, this is one of the best meals I've had as of late! For Father's Day, my dad and I shared the Octopus Carpaccio ($18), with his main being the Ribs (Half - $33, Full - $40) and my main being the Steelhead Salmon ($32). The carpaccio was a work of art - thinly sliced octopus arranged in a mosaic and topped off with pineapple salsa and tapioca crisps. It was refreshing and well-balanced in both texture and flavour. As for my salmon, it was beautifully cooked - flaky and juicy, with a nice sear for some added bite. The smoked salmon, cauliflower, and gruyère croquettes were also sensational, while the cauliflower purée and the golden raisins provided a touch of sweetness. Although the agrodolce was a bit too tart on its own, this was a minor point when taken as a whole since everything on the plate just worked in such harmony with each other. Considering it was Father's Day, I was surprised at the wide availability on OpenTable, but the restaurant filled up not long into our meal. Per my request, we were also seated near the window for a gorgeous view of the harbour. Service was fairly efficient overall, and our server kindly wished my dad a "Happy Father's Day!" at the end.

Burger filled with mushrooms w/ fries
Kellie K.

Exceeded my expectations beyond measure! This was easily one of the best burgers i've ever had! It was flavorful, not your typical burger, with a delicious side of fries! I did not feel weighed down by it afterwards either! We also did a Beef Tartare which was a beautiful experience in itself. The chef came out to prepare it in front of us! All of this is accompanied by a beautiful view overlooking the water and docs! Thank you to our wonderful server Kevin who made our experience worth remembering!

Details: My GF and I greatly enjoyed a HH and early dinner at the bar on a weeknight in early October 2026. How lucky for us to find ourselves in the care of Calvin, a deeply-knowledgeable and thoroughly professional oyster geek. On Calvin's advice, we slurped up about 1-1/2 dozen raw oysters. We especially loved the brininess of the BC pa'aje and WA totten virginica bivalves; the slightly sweeter SunSeekers were good too. Every oyster was clean and delicious! The accompanying beverages (dry vodka martini and aperol) were lovely. Our follow-on main-course dishes were just okay. GF liked the poutine with shredded Atlantic lobster (when she could find any!), but declared the dish to be mostly gloggy french fries. My dungeness crab cakes were dull. For best results: stick to the raw oysters!

I loved getting to watch the bartender shuck the oysters and grate some fresh horseradish on the plate. It was also really fun that they had a variety of sauces you could put on the oysters ranging from a mild mignonette vinegar and cocktail sauce to spicy hot sauces. The oysters that day were from Fanny Bay, so they were very plump and juicy! The addition of the fresh horseradish on the oysters added a really nice flavor with just a hint of the spicy kick you get from jarred horseradish. I also order the shrimp and lobster sliders, which were very tasty.

Make sure to their the house sauces, so many beautiful flavors in just a few bites. The potato crusted halibut and mussels were some of the best I've had. Seriously exceptional quality. They absolutely nailed every dish. The flavors, execution, and freshness were all on point. The only downside was the AC, it was barely doing its job when we visited. Honestly, it felt less like dining out and more like having dinner in Arizona. All in all, absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat.

Despite having a reservation and taking an Uber to the restaurant, I did not feel welcomed as a solo diner. One hostess told me there had been a system error because I had just made my reservation, and that I would need to sit at the bar or potentially could not be accommodated. I checked out the bar, but because of my back issues, the seating was uncomfortable for me. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and accommodated me at a table. The clam chowder was absolutely amazing--at CAD $19, it was well worth it. However, both entrées I wanted were unavailable. First, I ordered the sea bass and was told it had just sold out. My waiter recommended the salmon Wellington, but that was also sold out. I ultimately tried the sablefish, which I found overly salty from the miso preparation. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, but by that point, I decided against ordering anything else. My waiter was phenomenal, and I appreciated the manager's help. Still, between the unwelcoming arrival, unavailable dishes, and disappointing main course, the overall experience did not justify the cost or meet my expectations. Others may have a better experience, but I won't be returning.
