Ate dinner there last night with my girlfriend. The food was fine, but not worth the price in my book. I can enjoy a good plate for less and will probably not be back. If I am going to spend $15-20+ on a plate, it really needs to be good and bring me back, this just didn't do that. My chicken sandwich was good, but not $15 good. The food was excellent, with lots of flavor. All of the staff went above and beyond the entire time, without hovering. I got the wok bowl with veggies, chicken and rice. It was well seasoned, the veggies had a good consistency and weren't overcooked. I'll definitely get that again. read more

Went in for Valentine's day and they gave my boyfriend and I each a complimentary glass of champagne. We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab "Stack" and it was delicious! Been to Doc B's 3 times within the last few days, and they've given fresh, delicious food and exceptional service each time. Today, the manager Taylor saw that my date and I were coming to eat again, and she came over to start conversation, gave us amazing recommendations, and made sure that we were taken care of from the moment we stepped in. I watched her moving around the whole restaurant checking and assisting with the other tables, and saw her working hands on in the kitchen with food/orders. It was the best service I'd ever received from a restaurant manager. Every server we've had has also taken great care of us too though. Favorite menu items so far: the sweet potato chips and guacamole, the iron skillet Mac and cheese, oven baked wings. Food was decent and it came out very quickly. The patio was nice because they had mist along with the fans, so we ate lunch outside in July. It was nice to be able to eat outside without being miserably hot. -Horrible music. I realize this is subjective, but both my husband and I, who have different taste in music, hated it. I didn't recognize it, thought it sounded like loud repetitive dance music. He said they played a Coldplay remix and managed to make it worse. This is the reason I have no plans to return. -Food was fine, but quite pricey and not worth it in my opinion. Sweet potato chips were pretty good, some had a burned taste. Carnitas sandwich was pretty good, but again the meat had a burned taste, so that definitely kept it from being amazing. Cinnamon toast cheesecake was... Fine. I was really excited to order this dish, as I love cinnamon and cheesecake. Husband really enjoyed it, but it wasn't sweet enough for me (and my big sweet tooth). We left and there was still dessert on the plate, which never happens... I always finish dessert! But here I didn't. I could have, it wasn't terrible or anything, but I decided it just wasn't worth the calories. read more

Went here for the first time last night. Hopping Saturday night. Great atmosphere. I had a delicious, cooked to perfection, juicy, cheeseburger. Friend had their Turkey burger and he has tried the same at Hop Doddy, Hat Creek, and Posse East. Doc's is now his favorite Turkey burger. Also had kale/artichoke dip and it, too, was delicious. All around great service...sat at the bar and was served immediately...no wait as the bar serves full menu. Will definitely be coming back. read more

This is a fun place to go. The food is good - we like the wok bowls, pizza, and chicken sandwiches. The sweet potato fries are pretty darn good. Sometimes there is a wait but generally by the time you get a drink, your table is ready. The wait staff is attentive but not overbearing. Not a big fan of glasses they serve beer in but that is fairly minor! Definitely a good choice for happy hour or break from shopping! read more

Very bad experience here! I was visiting Austin for a work conference and a large group of us decided to walk to Doc B'a from our hotel. We felt judged as soon as we walked in (apparently you MUST have reservations) which I understand however giving a large group a bit of attitude is unnecessary. Then we get sat at 2 large tables (which split our group in 2) which was kinda cool. We were just happy that they "decided" to give us a chance at sit. Our waitress (who either didn't want to help us or was overwhelmed with the size of our group) was not nice and clearly didn't want to help us. We tried joking with her to make her smile and it wasn't happening. So, since we are adults and wanted to actually enjoy ourselves and BE OURSELVES, we politely drank the one round of drinks is that were actually brought to us (after a bit of a wait) and paid our tab and walked out. Never in all the years that my work family visits Austin have we experienced such poor customer service and poor attitude! We will never go again... read more

AWSOME food, DELICIOUS drinks. BUT, what happened to happy hour?! Last year, we discovered Doc's and were excited to learn about their happy hour was offered 7 days a week! We have visited many times, I've told in-town visitors, and have enjoyed getting delicious food and drinks when near the Domain. This last weekend, we decided to hit Doc B's for snacks & drinks before shopping. We were promptly seated, our server approached and provided menus. I noticed it was the normal dinner menu and asked for the HH menu. Our server gave me a blank stare, "today's Saturday." I was confused and said "yes, and it's 4 o'clock. It's usually happy hour right now...?" Her response, "we only have happy hour during the week." I almost asked how long she'd been working there, because I know I've had the hh menu provided to me on a weekend in the past. It was raining so we didn't want to leave and find somewhere else nearby. What was supposed to be a couple appetizers&drink ended up being an $80 meal. I'm sure we'll be back - eventually - but the main draw was Doc's being so close to work and such great food/drink offer. read more

It was an interesting atmosphere with excellent music. The service was pretty good. They had comfortable seating with a good outdoor area that had misters on a very hot day. Unfortunately the food was rather pedestrian. I got a spicy chicken sandwich and it wasn't very spicy and had very few condiments on it. It was also a bit greasy. It came with about 10 french fries. My wife got a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was undercooked even though she told them to literally burn it. There really wasn't a lot on the menu and the restaurant didn't seem to match the atmosphere.Really too bad because it had an excellent reputation. We may have just come on a bad day. read more

There are those restaurants that you walk into and expect to be great and then there are those restaurants you walk into and expect to be just ok. We were expecting the latter and were blown away that we got the former. Being a bit off the beaten path off the main Domain "drag" and having big tv screens playing Saturday football we really thought we were getting pedestrian "mall" tavern food. The menu is heavy salads, and sandwiches and being lunch we decided to split a salad and a sandwich each. The knife and fork cobb salad with crispy chicken was just about one of the best salads either of us have had- seriously! And did I mention the crispy cornbread croutons that dipped in the yummy salad dressing should be a menu item unto themselves? I had the crispy chicken sandwich while the husband had the spicy chicken sandwich. All either of us have to say is Chic-fil-a who? Popeyes who? Both sandwiches were epic-Crispy, just the right dressing and veggies. I am a picky eater and very rarely finish everything on my plate but I was licking my plate. The side of elote street corn that came with my sandwich was once again stand alone worthy. And yes the meal was so good that our gluttony continued and we got the very decadent chocolate cake which was very decadent. Throw all of this with amazing service from our waitress Taylor and kitchen service that was very expedient and this place deserves all the stars! read more

This was out 1st time visiting Docs. Overall I was impressed. The staff was great and food was good. Unfortunately, I ordered the Hot Chicken. It was perfectly cooked and had good flavors, but despite the servers warning that it was very spicy it had almost no spice. The menu even earns you of the spice. For those of us that love spicy food, you know that was one of the main reasons ordered it. If I had been spicy it might have been a new favorite. The flavor profile was great. In the end I was a little disappointed. I did tell the server that I felt like someone in the back of the house must have forgotten to add the spice. She said she would mention but no offer were made to being me a sauce or even provide an explanation. Not sure if I'll be back, but it's sad as I think I might have been a repeat customer. read more

Stumbled upon this place because other nearby eateries had obnoxious wait times. We're seated right away by very friendly hostess and staff, and it was much more quiet and comfortable than the boisterous eateries nearby. Had the lump crab stack appetizer which was incredibly fresh and delicious. My mom was unsure of her wine choice so our wonderful server brought samples of his suggestions to help, which was so kind. We both got the pan roasted chicken with quinoa, upon our server's recommendation, and it was so delicious and satisfying! I've been here several times for business lunches and liked it until a bad experience at supper last Saturday night. Normally I have the sandwiches/burgers, which are really good. For supper we had a number of entrees, all of which were Meh. The pricing on the dinner plates was a little high, especially considering the quality of food. And the drinks! Crazy prices. I had one draft at the bar which was $9 for a 10oz pour. Different beer at the table, still a 10oz pour and $7. My wife had two Titos and Soda, which were $11 apiece. We got a glass of 'house Merlot' for my mother in law - $15. Definitely not going back for dinner again. read more

Doc B's is a great restaurant for lunch, happy hour or Dinner. We've been here a few times since they've open and every single time our food and the service has been on point. We've tried the pizza, chicken parmigiana, chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich and some great apps too. I can't wait to try other entrees on the menu as well. I wish we could've tried the food, but after 30 minutes with only one drink and no other service to the table, we decided to leave. It was a busy Saturday night, of course. We had a pleasant conversation with our server about food recommendations but he never returned. We paid $13 for a "fresh squeezed" Paloma, which tasted like soda and $5 for a Miller Light. Overpriced is an understatement. Hopefully the food is as great as others are saying, because the service is not. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more
