We heard lots of good things about this place. The vibe is cool and we loved the ambiance even if they didn't sit us in the main area. The restaurant seemed understaffed because it took forever to get water, we had to ask for small plates or even utensil multiple times. Some of the food was good like the pizza and berry salad, however the shrimp pasta came cold and the watermelon salad was literally just a slab of watermelon on top of arugula. I mean $17 for a salad and they make the presentation like that? At least char grill the watermelon to make it look like there was actual effort! The atmosphere outdoors is amazing here. Unfortunately, I don't go out to eat for the atmosphere alone. The food was subpar and the service was terrible. We really should have left when we overheard the two tables on either side of us complaining to each other about the food and slow service but we decided to stick it out. We ordered one cocktail and some soft drinks. The soft drinks came decently fast, but after 30+ minutes the cocktail wasn't there. We had a good view of the bar and I saw a drink sitting there for quite awhile. When we asked our server, he went to the bar and picked up the same drink that had been sitting there 20+ minutes and brought it over. It had separated and was warm from sitting in the outdoor heat. The food - ugh. Shrimp pasta - the shrimp was way over cooked and rubber like. Barely warm. Pizza - looked great, but looks are deceiving. Also not hot. Loaded tator tots - they are tator tots. You can't really mess them up. But you can over charge which is what they do here ($14). Would have liked to order dessert, but we watched the table next to us get apple pie with ice cream and the ice cream was literally half melted when it was brought to their table. This was our first time to this establishment, but we will never go again. The food is overpriced bar food!! The wings were so dry and not tasty at all. The fries were soggy, not crispy, and the pizza was horrible. It was not cooked all the way through. Even after taking it home and reheating it in the oven, it was still inedible. Our waitress provided great service, but the bartenders were rude and not friendly at all. And having to park a mile down the road and get shuttled to and from the restaurant was also not ideal. Drove almost 30 miles to this place for my wife's birthday and I have to admit it's a very nice establishment but the food is definitely not worth the travel time. This review is only for people who care about fresh, good-quality food. Everyone else - enjoy your dinner! We ordered two pizzas, and the server returned with two round objects that resembled pizza. Both crusts were pre-formed and perfectly round, the cheese was bland, and the sauce tasted like it was fresh from the can. As I took my first bite, I realized that I was about to pay $36 for frozen pizzas. I'm giving two stars because the decor was nice, and our server was great. However, I've noticed a trend lately in the Lancaster region: "Let's build a really trendy restaurant with great decor, and trick everyone into believing we have really great food because of the ambiance." I always leave these establishments scratching my head because it seems to be working. Dead Pizzaiolos everywhere are rolling over in their graves. The singular star is for the wait staff - they were so kind and I felt bad that they were so overwhelmed. We had a reservation at 12 on Mother's Day and we're seated until 3. The owner gave tables away to his friends over us knowing we were waiting for hours. They didn't have enough silverware for our party & every single toilet in the women's restroom was overflowing so we had to leave the restaurant to go to the bathroom. We came for brunch and by the time we were seated they wouldn't even serve us brunch... ridiculous. We were at a local greenhouse and hadn't had lunch yet. This place looked interesting on Yelp. We got parking easily and we were seated right away. Any later and you better have made a reservation and you may be in remote parking, with a shuttle. The place is gorgeous. It wasn't opened like I guess it is in nice weather, but what a patio! A gorgeous waterfall, a fire going, so much greenery and just beautiful. Large bar, several TV's, inside and outside seating. I truly wish my small town had someone, anyone, willing to start a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing restaurant with good food and good service like Doc and Bubba's. They would make a mint. Well! While waiting for our table we enjoyed a wonderful view! we also had the opportunity to talk with people as they left and they all looked so happy:) We were a party of 9 so I am sure it can be a challenge to seat 9 people. When our name was called or we got the text, we were quickly escorted to another staging area and the wait was very short (so far so good). Now somewhere between getting seated and getting our drinks something happened? Our server was changed because of a conflict of interest. I have never heard of that at a restaurant.....I guess whatever works to get food on the table The server was friends with someone from our party. Now If that's what an establishment does then fine, however, maybe because I am honest I was kinda put off by it. I have to say I think having a server that knows you is what happens when you go to an establishment often, but that was not our case. I do think the change threw the servers off, so it did take a minute for them to get back on track. I can say for the number of orders the new server had to catch up with, all our orders were correct. The food was excellent from the Brussel Sprouts to the homemade vanilla ice cream:) For appetizers we ordered Banhbang Shrimp I think they were supposed to be spicy but didn't get close to half of the alarm on the heat chart:) but they were good:) we also had Brussel Sprouts with bacon and Ceasar Salad really good, just remember to tell them you want bacon in those teams although it was listed you actually have to request it. Beautiful outdoor patio with an amazing view, waterfall, and even Cornhole. The outdoor area is large and mostly shaded by nice umbrellas and awnings. The place itself is 5 of 5 stars. In my opinion however, the deluxe atmosphere was killed by awful, cheesy, grocery store music. I thought I liked all genres of music until I heard that. Haha. Also, the beer selection is poor and way overpriced (see attached pic). Even a bottle of crappy Labatt Blue is $8... And a half decent IPA is $9. Mother's day was terrible. We had a reservation for 1:30 for Mother's Day Brunch. We did not get seated until 2:40 pm at which time they informed us that brunch was no longer being served. A Marvel in Mohnton From the ambiance to the servers, Doc and Bubbas is a delight. Indoors or on the patio surround by just the right amount of heater, the restaurant is quite comfortable. We have sampled both the lunch and dinner menus and have not been disappointed by either. The crispy Brussels sprouts and Bang Bang shrimp appetizers are to die for! The SSC Pasta was loaded with seafood, and the angel hair was cooked perfectly. My husband found the short rib pierogis equally delicious. The variety within the food choices was especially helpful, as our daughter follows a completely vegan and gluten-free diet. Our server, Drew, was extremely attentive, respectful and knowledgeable of the vegan and gluten-free menu choices, and this immediately put us at ease. I've been twice and love it however you have to go with the expectation that they are short staffed and still working through a lot of new restaurant kinks. Absolutely love the design inside and out. LOVE sitting outside. The bartenders inside while we waited were awesome despite being short handed. Some food was really good and some really needs work. Drinks were all really good and strong and service all around was very good and friendly. As I said the food does need some help though, more flavor, salt. The pizza really really needs helps. It wasn't even palatable. Prices I feel are pretty high especially for salads, however I think it's comparable to everyone else jacking their prices up due to inflation. I personally don't think a burger is worth a $20 price tag. My husband judges a place by their burgers. not really MY idea of a bench mark but.. I'll never order something I can make at home, but that's just me. I ordered the short ribs and pirogies. Def something I'd not make at home.. the pirogies were tender as were the ribs. I was hoping for a BIT more seasoning to them but overall the dish was well done. A our waitress suggested a fresh watermelon cocktail to top it off. That was a win. Oh she was very nice by the way and did a nice job getting the grub to us. Great service.. My husband had the loaded tots appetizer. He was enthusiastic about it and forced me to taste it. I'm NOT a tot fan -I don't like the texture. If I HAVE to eat them I want them crispy.. these weren't. I did enjoy the sauce that was on them tho. don't know what it was but it was tasty. Overall It was ok. Looking forward to maybe a date night there rather than toting kids. Sometimes the cost factor will dictate what I will order, since we have to accommodate a third - especially with things being so expensive right now. Overall I'd say it's on the pricier side but it's worth at least one trip to see how you like it. They are first come, first served. They don't take reservations and apparently they don't offer take out unless you walk in order and wait. There's no phone listed for them. I found one that was offered as a potential from a Google review but it doesn't identify as being Doc and Bubba's. Oh and their parking situation is lacking. There are Shuttle buses that will take you from offsite parking to the restaurant and back but they're tiny little vans. The ambiance here is incredible and the service was accommodating, however they refused to accept me and my date's Maryland IDs. Let me just tell you this, as a local who has lived in the area for 24 years, this place is an abomination. Whoever decided to put some fancy shmansy pub in our nice little town had the wrong idea. Number 1, the property was not built large enough to accommodate the amount of people that go to this place and it causes a traffic and safety hazard along new holland road. Number two, the food is not any better than your local diner maybe even worse. Number three, everything there is overpriced to high heaven, i can get behind paying top dollar for nice food but paying $15 for a sad basic burger is not great. I have given this place many chances to prove me wrong and after about the 5th time going there i will never be back. Cool outside atmosphere. The food is just fine but not unbelievable. But it gets the job done. The melted Swiss burger was very good and so were the "salt and pepper fries," though we had to wonder where the salt and pepper went. The pizza rolls were fine (not pizza rolls from your freezer, but actual house made huge pizza rolls) but could have had more flavor and they were lukewarm. The server couldn't have been more prompt or polite. But you're coming here for the atmosphere. That's why this gets four stars. Food alone would not get this place four stars. read more

I think the word I would use for the experience was inconsistent. It seems to a bar/ restaurant trying to figure out what it wants to be. First the good, place is really nice. Perfect night to sit on the very large out side patio. The food was all nicely prepared and presented. Our waiter was quite literally thrown into the fire that night and once he told us seemed relieved that we understood his plight and were willing to help. Now the not so good. The music was good but way, way too loud. It's dinner time, I love Bob Segar but not at volume 10 when we are trying to talk. The singer said he was doing 1 more song, which was actually a relief, then did 9 more songs. If he is willing to turn the volume down he should, if not put him up at 4:00 or 9:00 but let the dinner hour breath. The drinks were incomprehensibly bad. A vodka soda served in a martini glass with no ice. Another vodka soda served in a martini glass with ice. A terrible Old Fashioned, with too much syrup. The specialty drink that was ordered was really good. We worked through glassware for the second round but the Cosmo came with sugar on the rim of the glass, which is pretty odd. These were not complicated drinks to make, I mean Vodka and Soda... Finally, the service was quite slow. We were sat quickly with no menus, no water and no hope. It took 20 minutes for someone to offer to take an order (the aforementioned cocktails) and another 10 to get them. We sensed the issue and ordered apps at the same time and they came out long before we got drinks, so let's eat hot food with no liquid in site. Just poorly constructed from jump. Of course with the music blasting the waiter also struggled to take orders since you can't hear. The good outweighed the bad but not by alot. The overflow crowds with soon find a new place to mob. I hope by the time that happens Doc and Bubba have worked out the kinks and created an experience that lives up to the venue. read more

Wow. Hard to go out for a nice night for dinner and be disappointed on every level. Took a month of Sundays to get wine and cocktails. Bartender needs to share they are over their heads. Took longer to get place settings. Actually we sat 5 minutes after entrees were delivered to get place settings. Now the biggest disappointment, the food. The salmon looked and tasted like my leather sandals. Dry, overcooked and tasteless. We could not escape quick enough. For a positive note, our server was absolutely wonderful. Pleasant and apologetic. She should not have been put in this situation. Hopefully my note helps this restaurant take account for their misgivings and correct them quickly.
