Classy and comfortable. Absolutely delicious food that is rich and flavorful. My daughter had the spicy noodle bowl and I ordered the lobster roll sliders. The sliders were amazingly delicious. My only complaint is that there weren't more of them. My daughter loved the freshness of the ingredients in the noodle bowl but avoided the red sauce on the side of the bowl due to its level of spice. The food was well prepared and the staff was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. The interior dining area was clean and well maintained. Decor was a blend elegant and edgy. Loved the whole experience and I look forward to returning in the not to distant future! Perfect!

The food is amazing, the service is great and the drinks are on point! If you are visiting Reading/Wyomissing, please stop by this treasure! You will not be disappointed. My husband the empanadas and he was in heaven.

Had a wonderful dinner with my girlfriends at Building 24's restaurant tonight. When you come in there's a beautiful cozy atmosphere with a warm fireplace and outdoor covered and heated deck area. All of our food we ordered was delicious, loved the steak butter on the Steak Frites. They gave us sooo much french fries and I'm not complaining! The orange sauce was like a horse radish spicy sauce. Food was pricy and menu was limited compared to some other restaurants however they give you big portions and the food doesn't disappoint. Overall recommend this place!

I sometimes debate changing my address to 1115 Bern Road, since we basically live here. The food is always phenomenal and service is beyond great. The only downside is, you have such a great time, you lose track of time, have too many drinks, and will most likely need to Uber home

First of all, thIs review comes from someone who has been to building as a regular. Building 24 is easily one of the best clubs I've ever been to. But last night, 11/30-12/1, the DJ with the Instagram handle lovecitydjs was possibly the least experienced DJ I've ever seen. That's okay because you gain experience through exposure, but I call into question Building 24s selection of DJs. Even at midnight, the floor was mostly empty. Panning the room, there was maybe 40-50 people present and all were standing, watching the DJ to see if he would play something club-worthy. The DJ would play a good song to get people to the floor and then change it 20 seconds later to a song that made absolutely NO sense for the audience nor the mix and in some cases, the style. There were a lot of let-down transitions that disrupted the flow (for example, picture building up the beat drop and then when it's time, you miss the beat drop) The DJ did not pay attention to the audience. He had his list and he was sticking to it no matter what the audience said. With an empty floor 85% of the night, I think I'd get the idea that my set is not appealing and I'd make the necessary adjustments. With that being said, that was one night. Building 24 overall is a spectacular club/restaurant and more than worth a visit. I'd pay extra attention to who is the DJ before going though.

Pic 2. Same dish a different day. Burnt and maybe 3 whole Brussel sprouts

Meh. I feel like this is a mixed review. Went one day and had amazing Brussel sprouts (see pic 1). Went another time and ordered the Brussels sprouts (pic 2) and was just shocked what was put on the plate. Anyone who works in food should know that 2nd pic wasn't servable. Also the little gnats that fly around the bar are very annoying. If you want to be a "fancy" place, quality control is highly important

Accidentally ended up at Building 24 after The restaurant at the Works was closed. We were hesitant to bring our 3 young boys into a nice restaurant, but it ended up being the best night. They had Kraft Mac n Cheese (every little kids dream) and chicken nuggets & French fries. Our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was absolutely delicious and drinks were strong. Highly recommend the crab cakes!!!! It was storming, so our waitress told us how to get over to the Works without even going outside. 10/10 can't wait to visit again!

After this show, I doubt I'd see another show here. The area is conveniently located across from a hotel, which is great if you're traveling to Reading, PA like we were from another city or state. Unfortunately I cannot review the parking situation, because with took a Lyft there. But it seemed like everyone parked away from the arena. All of the staff was extremely friendly. From the attendant that helped us find our seats to the nice lady who sold us the $15 deuce-deuce can I'd Trulys. It's really sad how ridiculous these arena prices arena! The seats at the Santander were horrible. Of course because it's a concert, everybody was dancing and having a great time, but the seats were wobbling and moving more than we were. I felt like I was going to end up in the floor! The sound system wasn't the best either. Most times, the music was completely overpowering the artist. For these two reasons, I doubt I'll be back. But the concert was great!

Finding your way upstairs adds to the speakeasy-style charm. The reception area alone sets the vibe: playful, stylish, and full of photo-worthy moments before you even sit down. It feels like you've discovered something not everyone knows about. We went with the small plate prix fixe menu (three courses), and each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and -- most importantly -- delicious. Every course left us wanting just a little more, which is exactly how a tasting-style experience should feel. Nothing felt rushed, and the pacing of the food was on point. Cocktails were also excellent, creative, well-balanced, and fitting for the ambiance. The only hiccup of the night was drink service being a bit slow. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but noticeable. Overall, a great Restaurant Week experience in a space that feels both intimate and fun. I'll absolutely be back to explore the full menu soon.

Little did we know that would be the continual theme as we were only given a choice of one of the 4 appetizers(one being warm olives) , two of the four entrees and ended up receiving what felt like the leftovers. It was truly a disappointing experience. Their manager let us know that because we prepaid there was nothing they could do that night. Just avoid this experience all together and perhaps find a date night somewhere you are able to spend time together rather than hangry.

The architecture and design details are breathtaking, especially the ornate ceiling work and vintage theater charm. Every time I walk in, I'm reminded why I love live shows so much. The acoustics here are usually fantastic, making it a great place for concerts, comedy shows, and everything in between. I've been to many events here over the years and always enjoy the experience. I usually sit toward the front right side of the venue, where the view is clear and unobstructed by the structure it really feels like there isn't a bad seat in the house. There are several bars and snack stands throughout the venue, plus a small area for merch tables, so everything you need is within easy reach. Tickets are generally very reasonably priced for the quality of the experience. Parking is probably the only minor consideration there's on-street parking as well as multiple garages nearby, but you'll want to plan for a short walk. These free outdoor concerts liven up a begging-to-be used area, the Volunteer Fireman's Memorial bandshell, a hillside amphitheater which was recently spruced up. It used to be an art-deco pink and green and is now an elegant sandy-gold color. Adjacent to a pond with a moat in front of the stage (how often do we get to use the word moat?), the area does not seem overrun with mosquitoes. So either a healthy population of bats exists (unlikely, poor bats are basically going extinct), or there may have been some spraying. Just to add a bit of macabre to this, keep in mind that this park was once the site of the Reading prison and was formerly called Gallows Hill and Penn's Common. Lots of hangings went on here, most famous of which was the 1805 one of a young woman accused of killing her infant. So some levity is needed to balance out all this bad karma, and Reading and the Berks Arts Council do a great job of creating a peaceful relaxing venue. There is a scattering of artists, food trucks, and other stands. Most of the food is fried, but my friends came back with some lovely Vietnamese egg rolls likely from Van's Cafe. There are also pay-what-you-want mini-massages, fire dancers, henna painters, and more. I spotted the Mayor and other city officials strolling around. We learned that we are the only people in the county without portable chairs, but my spouse dragged in our cushioned deck chairs, thank you dear! You can also sit on built-in benches that curve around in front of the shell, if you don't feel like carrying in furniture. You are welcome to bring food and drinks -- (that do) not (appear to be) alcohol. So our new giant picnic basket had its maiden voyage. We had a group of nine and found plenty of room. There is a beer tent, but you have to stay in the penned-in area. Is this part of state liquor law? It seems uncivilized. I will check out the offerings next time to see if there is anything local or flavorful. There was also a Chinese auction and raffles for restaurant gift certificates going on after the music. We wanted to see the Beatles tribute band, which was last, and it is rare to hear so many Beatles songs being performed. There is reggae next week! Please, enough with the classic rock; you can hear that everywhere. Note to hippie-types: don't go barefoot into the Portapotties! All in all, a lovely end to summer and a brighter side to a much-maligned city.
