Decided to try out this Peruvian spot here in Lathrop and I just want to say it's worth a try. Got the lomo saltado and it was packed with flavors! It was made to order and the service from staff was welcoming. Would come back and try more dishes

Their food is AMAZING! The portions are huge and worth it too! It's a small business so the service can be a little slow, but it's definitely worth the wait. It's not easy finding a Peruvian restaurant as good as this one within a hundred miles (and I've tried haha) I've lived in Europe and been around to Peruvian restaurants there and still not found a place as good as this. I absolutely recommend trying the Secco Con Frijoles. Very authentic amazing.

Roast chicken, yucca fries and fried plantains. So good.

The food was incredible. My daughter said it was her new favorite. The portions are huge. They seem a little under staffed but super friendly. Hubby said it's very authentic Peruvian food.

Wherever I travel, I tend to find a Peruvian restaurant in the area, since I am a huge fan of Peruvian food, and I found this place, located near my workplace. When you go in, the setting is like a cafe-style space, but on the right is the dining hall. My only problem with the dining room is the lack of decorations; the atmosphere was simply dull and can definitely make some touch-ups, from the tables to the walls. Although I have tried different dishes from other Peruvian restaurants, my usual go-to dish is the Saltado de Pollo (Chicken Stir Fry). Their dish is tasty and delicious, but the french fries were a bit stale, but that changed when I just dipped them in the main course's sauce. My waiter, presumably the owner, too, was friendly and attentive; we made small talk, as I was paying my tab, and he was an overall pleasant, good guy. Their dishes are pricey, but the portions are generous, so be prepared to spend some hefty amount of money. I think it's definitely worth it, and worth checking out, even if it's once. You probably won't be disappointed.

Dona Tere's Peruvian restaurant is a hidden gem that serves up some of the best Peruvian dishes around. My favorites are the ceviche and Lomo Saltado, which are always bursting with flavor. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience authentic Peruvian cuisine! Service is 10/10, I always have a good time with the family.

Another picture of the tiny little order. Maybe a half of a potato and half an egg for 13 bucks.

The food is delicious! If you are short on time I would say order ahead and then pick up order to either eat at home or eat at restaurant.

I loved the jerk pork tacos! The pork was juicy, tender, and aromatic, and the mango-papaya salsa added a refreshing sweetness. I also tried the paella Oyo that my sister ordered which was sooo yummy and full of protein. The small size was more than enough! My mom ordered the oxtail stew which wasn't on their brunch/lunch menu (dinner only), but I really appreciate that they were accommodating to make that dish for her. I've never had oxtail and it was delicious--tender, perfectly sweet and savory, and paired well with the plantains. The other dishes that my family ordered were hits too (jerk pork shoulder and seafood paella). We also tried the ripe plantains pancake Oscar for a sweet treat. I love anything marshmallow, so the brûléed marshmallow cream that blanketed the pancakes was heavenly. It also came with a plantain on top and a few other fruits to balance out the sweetness. Overall, we left full and all around very satisfied. The staff showed us such warm hospitality and came around often to check on us, despite being an almost packed house. The decor was beautiful and the atmosphere had a fun lively energy. With indoor and outdoor seating options, anywhere you get seated is a nice spot. Can't wait to visit again to try their dinner menu items and drinks, and hopefully catch some live music!

Despite having TVs visible in the restaurant, Parada Walnut Creek does not show live sports at all. If you come in hoping to enjoy a game while eating or having drinks, don't bother. The TVs are either off or showing non sports programming, even during major sporting events. This is especially disappointing considering the bar seating and layout suggest that watching a game would be an option. What makes this worse is that the Lafayette location (Barranco) DOES show sports on their TVs, creating a confusing and inconsistent customer experience across the brand. Same ownership, similar cuisine, but completely different policies. If Lafayette can balance food and sports viewing, there's no good reason Walnut Creek can't. At a minimum, this should be clearly communicated. Instead, customers are left guessing--or worse, finding out after they've already ordered. Not everyone wants a "quiet, curated dining experience" all the time, and having TVs but refusing to use them for sports just feels out of touch. If you're looking for great Peruvian food and want to watch a game, go to Lafayette. If you're at Parada Walnut Creek, leave your sports expectations at the door.

However, My friend said he thought Parada was better than Limon in Walnut Creek for Peruvian food. So I figured I'd give it a shot and try something new. The ambiance was nice and there was live music being played on a Friday night. We were able to get seated without a reservation. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food wasn't amazing but not really bad either. The empanadas were really good and the corn was good too. In my opinion it's not a good value for what you get here. It was pretty pricey but the portions were very small for $18 to $25 per item. In my opinion they should consider bigger portions to provide a better value for customers. Ultimately, I think it's definitely worth trying. I'm sure there are lots of people that would love this place. It just wasn't a great place for me.

As a Peruvian who cooks this food at home, I can say confidently: this restaurant doesn't deliver authentic Peruvian cuisine, and the prices don't justify the quality. We ordered the ceviche, which lacked the brightness and flavor it should have. The seco was worse...you can taste when someone hasn't actually made this dish before or even tried it themselves. The adobo tasted more like mole than traditional Peruvian seasoning. Across every dish, the flavors felt off, overseasoned or just plain confused, the sarsa de cebolla had cilantro! It's supposed to be mint! ‍. I've tried several Peruvian restaurants around the Bay, and this isn't competing. The reviews are mostly five stars, but I suspect that's from people 1000% unfamiliar with what real Peruvian food tastes like. If you've had it done right, you'll notice immediately here. The one bright spot: service was genuinely excellent. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the experience pleasant. That's the only reason this didn't feel like a complete waste. Save your money and your time.
