DJ Nixx was exactly what I wanted for my December 1st wedding. I had pretty specific songs I wanted played during the ceremony with different start and stop times and she got it perfectly. It went just as I imagined it. I had also given her some songs we wanted played during the reception and she expertly mixed those in with songs she picked out based on the vibe of the dance floor. I danced all night long as did a ton of our guests, which was my dream from the start. Wow. I could not have had a more perfect DJ for my wedding. Full disclosure: I've known Orreon for some time, our friendship goes back to middle school when Luda' and Nelly were tearing up the scene. If you think he's cool now, you should have seen him then. Since then luckily, both of our music tastes seemed to have diversified, and I am so grateful to have had such a talented DJ and friend to orchestrate such a seamless performance for my wedding night, only 16 years later. From the moment I requested to work with him/with DJ Nixx Entertainment, they were helpful and straightforward. Though I am an Austinite originally, I currently live in Seattle which might have made the planning phase difficult -- however it could not have been easier. Additionally, because of the talent of this team, we were able to discuss a wide array of music -- from classier yet non-traditional wedding songs to the [...it's time to PARTY] dance songs. We even came up with codes for establishing when to move between 'vibes' for the perfect ambiance throughout the evening. If I were to describe his performance in 4 adjectives or less: FUN!, seamless, exactly as-ordered, and efficient throughout the entire process. One more example: I had no idea what it took to set up/take down all of that equipment, lighting, etc.; outside, and in various places; and it was incredible. DJ Nixx was amazing to work with. I had one conversation with her, and I didn't even bother talking with other DJ's because I knew she was the one we wanted for our wedding. She was so easy to work with, responded quickly, and always had a positive attitude. She is also relatable & so much fun. It was really important for me to pick all-female vendors for the wedding as I wanted to promote women supporting other women. I felt so lucky when I saw she was a vendor within the Barr Mansion's network already (she also already had a great relationship with my other vendors Eryn Chandler Photography, Blumen Floral, Caryn from Barr Mansion). She easily understood what we were looking for, and she helped us figure out what we wanted when we didn't know. Our wedding unfortunately fell in the peak of the omicron wave, so we had so many guests cancelling last minute & changes before the wedding due to covid, and we leaned on her a lot to help us navigate what to do. She is a professional and knows what she is doing! I also loved that she knows her audience - she changed the genre of music throughout the night based off of what crowd was on the dance floor. Nikki was an absolute godsend. She came highly recommended by other well-known DJ's in the area & that spoke volumes! Once we had our first phone meeting, her personality shone through & I KNEW we had our DJ. Her music portal, ESPECIALLY the "Do Not Play" section were an added bonus for me.
