We had a few technical challenges with the photo booth, but do not let that discourage you from also hiring this service. Even if I did somehow enjoy vulgar jokes, even after I told you that wasn't our style, making a comment like that is so unprofessional. Where do I even begin? Texas Pro DJ is amazing! Everything was so last minute with our wedding and we were not able to book a DJ until 1-2 months prior to the wedding. Noelle with Texas Pro DJ was able to walk us through the entire process over the phone since we live in San Antonio and helped us secure a DJ for our wedding. Their website where you go to select the music/songs you'd like is incredibly easy to use. Due to a mistake, all of our vendors (including Texas Pro DJ) received the wrong wedding timeline. Noelle received a frantic (lol) phone call from me 2 days before the wedding and she was able to fix the timeline within a matter of minutes. Noelle was such a blessing to have because she stayed in great contact with us and made sure everything was in place for the wedding. Our DJ was Brad Buehler and I do not have enough kind words to say about him! He truly included everyone in the wedding and his timing was impeccable. We had several nontraditional requests and Brad Buehler did them all. It was my flower girl's 3rd birthday the day of our wedding and our DJ gathered everyone and we all sang happy birthday to her. It was very special! Brad Buehler's talent with song selection was impressive! He played all of the most important songs we had requested and he played them in the perfect timeline where the music was building up all night. The energy of the room continued to build all night and it was such a fun atmosphere! Brad kept in contact with me (the bride) and/or my parents that night to make sure we were all on the same page for when we wanted to cut the cake, toss the bouquet, etc. and I appreciated him doing that. Overall, I truly felt like everyone at Texas Pro DJ that we worked with were incredibly professional and only wanted perfection for our wedding day. They are as good as it gets!!!! I mean I have never had to hire a DJ before but I can't imagine it gets any better than these guys! I have a lot to say but it is because all aspects of this company were superb! How we met: I was attempting a close budget but I still have my fiancé (now husband) free reign to choose a DJ. He followed grudgingly behind me through a bridal extravaganza and when I turned around and he was gone I found him standing memorized in from of the Texas Pro DJ booth as one of the guys showed him all they could do, he was sold. I told him I would check them out, but after seeing so many vendors I had already reassumed that by their set up they would be out of our price range, I mean they looked like all you ever wanted. I made a call though and was shocked that they were so reasonable and willing to work with what I needed. The woman on the phone was also incredibly nice and so helpful. Meeting: Now we meet Anthony, our DJ. I gathered up my soon to be husband, my "music coordinator", which was a good friend who was incredibly music savvy, and my father who had come in town as the wedding was approaching. I went into the meeting with all my notes in hand and ready to just chisel out the minor things and be on our way. Anthony greeted us in their Dub academy, which was incredible, if I were knew anything about music and being a disc jockey, this place would have been heaven. Anthony immediately brought out some Doxx and this already took the edge off of a stressed bride. He started asking some questions, getting to know us, and quickly won over this diverse group; my dad who is as country as they come and wanted old school and country music, my husband who wanted Spanish music, my music coordinator who suggested all the new hits, and me, who didn't care what was played as long as people danced. Anthony went through each event, as well as each hour, to choose what song we wanted or types of songs we wanted through the hour. I was clueless most of the time, not realizing there were so many things you had to choose songs for, but he had great suggestions and before we knew it we had everything lined out. My favorite part! When glancing through the contract before the meeting I noticed it said the DJ plays for 4 hours, so I had planned minute by minute to make sure we had the DJ for 4 hours of dancing. This meant I had decided that I would somehow hide a boom box under a table or something in the cocktail hour and another in the dinner so there would be background music and it wouldn't take up the 4 hours with the DJ. It was not classy but I did not know what else to do. When we arrived at the meeting, over Doxx I told Anthony my plan. He stared at me like I was crazy and laughed. He explained to me that these 4 hours were not a set in stone sort of thing and if I needed background music they would set it up, he assured me it was no problem. He told me that all I needed was to tell give him our time line for the wedding and he would make sure everything was great. He even put together some great music to play while people ate. This was something that had plagued me from the beginning and he had quickly wiped out a large stress for the wedding day (and he thought I was funny trying to set up boom boxes). Day of: Anthony showed up early, I know they say they will show up hours early, I'm not sure how early he was, but I was surprised and delighted to see him. He came to the bride's house and I believe was the only man all day that braved his way into the house FULL of women while we were getting ready. He looked very handsome in his suit and colors matching out wedding! He told me how wonderful I looked and assured me everything would be perfect and wanted to see if there was anything I needed from him. So considerate. I am told he then made his way to the grooms quarters, and reviewed things with the boys and hung with them for a minute (safer than the brides house). I didn't see him again until wedding time, but he was all set up and everything was wonderful. My planner told me at one time that we would need more lights for the reception (Anthony had suggested the same weeks before and I didn't think so...but he was right ), she said she would ask Anthony and never heard another word about it, but as the reception began, there they were and it was perfect. Through the entire day Anthony was incredible. People LOVED him; I had people coming up all night saying he was great! At one point I hear cheering and come around the corner to find my now husband, behind the DJ booth with Anthony, headphones on, pretending to be DJ spinning, and all the guests are crowded around laughing and taking photos. It was really wonderful. Anthony even, without me even realizing, convinced our wedding vendor to let the party go later, when we all weren't ready to go! I really can't say enough about them. DJ Michael executed our out of town, outdoor wedding, and he kept it classy and fun. Our wedding reception was around 7 hours, and 5 hours was seriously non-stop dancing! We didn't want the night to end and neither did the guests. Upon returning from our honeymoon, we heard endless compliments from our friends and family about how awesome the DJ was during the wedding reception. Before starting our wedding planning process, my husband and I made a list of things that were high priority for us. At the top of that list was having a good DJ who would contribute to the fun reception atmosphere we wanted to create. I was on a mission to find the right DJ, and I must have spoken with every DJ company in Austin during my search. Miles was highly recommended to us by our photographer, and it wasn't hard to see why. From the moment we initially visited the office, all of the staff at Texas Pro DJ were professional and organized. To make the planning process easier, we rented all sound equipment including what was needed for ceremony and reception through them. Miles and his assistant showed with plenty of time to setup and they were ready to go the day of the wedding. An online login to an account with all details including timeline, requested songs, etc was available to us, and having such hands-on access really took all of the stress out of the process. While we certainly could have gone with a different DJ for less, I would say that Miles' contribution was invaluable. We still get compliments on how great the music was and how much fun our reception was. If we ever need to hire another DJ, we would certainly pick Texas Pro DJ again! read more

The DJ we hired for our wedding, Brad Buehler, was absolutely great. I work in the music industry and I was a bit worried about having a hired DJ represent my taste in music, but he really came through and understood what we wanted. One thing I didn't expect, which was GREAT, was that he helped a lot with the scheduling on-site - organizing the crowds for cake cutting, bouquet toss, exit, etc. We didn't have a wedding planner so it was really helpful to have someone on top of that stuff. The staff are super organized and dependable. They have a nice website interface where you can add songs you want to hear at certain times. You can just kind of describe the "vibe" you want for a certain part of the reception and they'll work with that, or give them a few artists you like and they'll build a playlist around it. Brad did a great job finding music that would please me and my wife, our friends, and our family at the same time, which isn't easy. Everything from 90s R&B to Texas Country to Frank Sinatra to current Top 40 stuff. We had people from the ages of 3 to 75 dancing, including family members who I don't think I've ever seen dance. Two of my groomsmen did the "Dirty Dancing" lift-above-the-head dance move at one point. It got crazy. We got a lot of compliments after the wedding about his set too, everyone loved it. The best part is that you know they're professionals, so you don't have to worry about them screwing things up and you can just relax and enjoy the party. read more

I hired these guys for my 30th birthday and they didn't disappoint. I met with Miles but Andrew was assigned to DJ my event. I was a little anxious in the days leading up to the party because I never actually met with Andrew beforehand, only filled out my party profile on their website. I worried for nothing though because he did a FANTASTIC job! He was very kind and made everything so easy. I touched base with him a few times throughout the night but there was really no need to feel like I needed to be in charge. He did a great job running the show and keeping the party going until the very last song. Everyone had a blast! It was definitely a night that will be remembered for a very long time! Miles is incredible. He has great equipment, and works well with the other vendors at your reception. He also does a great job transitioning through songs. Have you ever been to a wedding where the DJ just fades songs in and out and people leave the dance floor because of the dead space between songs? That doesn't happen with Miles. His prices are reasonable compared to some of the other vendors. He's definitely not the cheapest, but comparable. If you use Texas Pro DJ, get Miles. He's so much fun to work with. If Miles is not available, make certain you talk with the actual DJ who will be at your wedding. Here's why I gave 3 stars instead of 5: Stephen was in charge of the first half of our wedding reception (because Miles was booked elsewhere for the first 2 hours). We believe that Stephen was having an "off" day. Where to begin? The biggest mistake Stephen made was cutting off our first dance song after a bit over a minute (that we paid tons of money to learn and rehearse at a dance studio for two months). When I asked him why he did that, he said that he had never seen a couple dance to the WHOLE FIRST DANCE SONG. He didn't apologize for not knowing or anything. Couldn't he see that we were in mid-choreographed dance mode on the dance floor? Who knew that you had to request that the whole first song be played? I would never have known to make that clear. That would be like asking Santa to remember to put his pants on when he comes down the chimney. (SIDE NOTE: Miles was really sweet and offered to let us redo it a few hours later, but my feet were killing me by the end of the night. Nice try to save though.) Among other things, Stephen played the wrong version of our father daughter dance song. "Unforgettable" was originally sung as a solo, and later sung as a duet by Natalie Cole with her late father. My dad was really upset that this mistake happened because I was his last daughter to be married, and I had made it VERY CLEAR since this was so important to him. Also, my husband and I are in our late 20s and 30s, and asked for classics to be played (from 1970s-1990s) for the first half so that our guests could relate (especially the older people). When my grandmother (88) came out to the dance floor, he played "Disturbia" by Rihanna........What? Although I like that song, I had asked for intense music to be reserved for the second half of the reception. Also, my Big Sister and Matron of Honor had asked that the slow version of "New York" by Alicia Keys be played for us because that's where we were moving. He didn't take her request. When she asked him why (later), he apparently said that he wasn't able to fit it in.........who says that instead of trying to work it in? My over all perception of Stephen: he's probably a nice person, but he was having a really bad day and you could read it on his face. He didn't read the crowd, he didn't take requests, he didn't read the specific notes I gave Texas Pro DJ, and he had an "I'm-In-Charge-Not-You" attitude. Honestly, looking back, I think Stephen was thrown in as our wedding DJ at the last minute, which may explain why he was kinda fussy that night and seemed lost at times. I know for a fact that My DJ was supposed to be a different person for the first half (Not Stephen), so I may have been one of his first jobs in January 2010 or he was covering for our original DJ on the fly. Luckily Miles came and saved it all in the second half. Here's my advice about DJs: I put a lot of faith, time, and detail in uploading all of our music requests into the Computer Program on the Texas Pro DJ Website that they offer to organize your night. While it's a good guideline for the DJ, it's always better to work with the actual DJ, get to know his personality, and ask if there is anything that he or she would like to share about their past experiences that would give you faith in his/her ability to make a wedding flow well. Remember, YOU are interviewing YOUR DJ more than you are interviewing your DJ COMPANY. In other words, don't sign with a company without talking with your actual DJ first. Get the person's info and ask for references. read more

We used Texas Pro DJ for our wedding and we were very satisfied. We initially talked to the owner, Miles, who went over all the details of how he worked and gave us a demo of the gear he had. Needless to say, we were very impressed. Since he was already booked, we also got a DJ demo from Lorenzo, who we hired to DJ our wedding. Lorenzo did a fantastic job at our wedding. We had a consultation the week before and he took all of our requests and made them come to life during the wedding. He definitely played the right type of music at the right time during the wedding and he always seemed to choose the right songs to keep people dancing through the night. He was pretty low key when handling the mic which was perfect since we didnt really want the DJ to overpower the party with the sound of his own voice. He also chose two great last dance songs. I couldnt help but tell him during our wedding how great a job he was doing. Lorenzo gets 5 stars from me, but I docked 1 star on my review because of the company's booking system. The entire process (contract, timeline, info, etc) is done through an online booking system. The week before our wedding, our price magically went up for reasons that were never fully explained to me. I made Audra aware of this and she immediately got on this issue but the mix up was not fixed for 2 days causing some stress the last week building up to the wedding. Also, the last few days before the event, the timeline gets frozen and changes can only be made via email. This in theory works but in my case while my changes were acknowledged over email, I never did get the final timeline sent to me. In the end, however, everything worked out and most importantly the actual DJ was awesome. We changed the timeline during the event and Lorenzo didn't miss a beat. In my search for a DJ, they were definitely a little more pricey than others but as a group, they really look like they are a huge step above other cheaper options. I can also say that every person I talked to from this company was incredibly nice to me which I really appreciated since wedding planning can be quite stressful. If I had to do it over again, I would choose them in a heartbeat (minus the technical difficulties). read more

The studio is set up where DJ classes are on one side of the building, and the offices on the other. He got to know us, and the music we both enjoyed listening to. My husband and I stressed out so much about music selections prior to visiting Anthony. Once we actually sat down, and talked, he helped us come up with the PERFECT play list. He helped give guidance in what to play, and put our minds at ease. He completed a full time line of events for the entire evening that we could log in and add to or make changes at any time. Texas Pro DJ is amazing! Working with Jamin Walters was one of the most fun parts of planning our wedding. We met with him a year out and he made us SO excited for the big day and did a great job building a timeline for us so we had an idea far in advance how our reception would go. The company has an online client portal that is super user-friendly and helps you select songs that you want for your reception. There is a even a "Do Not Play" list that you can plug songs into and they will not play those. We opted for no Cha Cha Slide or Cupid Shuffle :) Not only was Jamin an excellent DJ, but his MC skills are top notch! He kept the party going and made sure everyone was dancing! He was also super honest and helpful throughout the entire planning process and found ways to help us cut costs in some areas. We really appreciated that. So many of our guests asked for his business card at the end of the night so they could book him for their events. Overall, our wedding would not have been the same without him. 5 Stars for Miles and Texas Pro DJ! We planned our wedding from afar - living in California and planning a wedding in Austin, TX can be daunting... we interviewed our DJ's over the phone and though we liked the other two we spoke with, Miles was a clear winner..Then we met him and considered moving to Austin just so we could hang out again ;-). He is personable, fun and amazing at his job. His Dub Academy studio is awesome and worth checking out and his office next door is comfortable, classy and he is always the gracious host. We felt like he really listened to what we wanted yet provided important input and suggestions...in fact the more we spoke with him the LESS say we wanted to have in our music. We knew he understood the vibe we were going for at each event in our wedding and were confident he would create the right mood - we were exactly right! He provided the music and sound for our wedding (outside in a rose garden), the cocktail hour (under a pecan tree), dinner and reception indoors... at every point the music was perfect and at every point the music was completely different - which is exactly what we were going for. He even found the PERFECT mother/son song for my fiance. We had a timeline set up but of course things changed as the night went along - Miles got the guests where they were supposed to and kept things moving along smoothly. His presence on the mic is the perfect blend of a commanding and pleasant voice, good humor yet never overbearing. Miles is true DJ mixing and blending the songs as he goes to keep the dance floor hoppin' all night long... our remaining guests danced until their shirts were drenched and still felt like it ended too soon. There is no better compliment than, "that is the most fun I've ever had at a wedding" and we heard it over and over... not to mention my 18 year old cousins and 60 year old aunts and uncles ALL made a point of saying they loved the DJ! Anyone that can figure out how to appeal to a crowd that diverse has true talent. I honestly feel there is no one better than Miles and Texas Pro DJ... Thanks Miles! read more

I am an event coordinator for a local Austin venue and after this company played a wedding for one of my brides back in May - I have highly recommended this company to my other brides... After one meeting with Miles, the owner, they were booked! They have since played every single one of my brides' weddings and I have heard nothing but wonderful compliments from every single couple (as well as their guests). The way they read the couple, spend time assessing their wants and personalities, and then the overall professionalism on the day of the couples wedding -- I have been very impressed! Miles and the team at Texas Pro DJ went above and beyond in insuring the best wedding reception ever! Miles is extremely talented in reading the crowd, anticipating what music is best for the moment, and providing music that everyone enjoys. He even let me come up and try my hand at DJing (however horrible I was)! We rented the SlowMo Photo Booth and I would definitely recommend this to anyone for their party! It was so fun for everyone- young and no-so-young. Something that really blew us away was the customer service.
