Their donuts were alright, tasted a day old when I had them. For the people in my group that wanted jelly-filled donuts they really liked their choices, but for others that don't like that...I would try elsewhere. Saw this place across the street from Autozone while I was waiting to get my car battery replaced, hubby offered to get me a donut and figured I couldn't say no :) The gentleman helping us was very sweet and informative. There was a deal going on with the hot donuts so we got two maple bars. We also got an old fashioned maple donut and a cinnamon roll which were great. But I've never had a hot maple bar donut and let me tell you, them things are GOOD. We ate them in the car before we left and I don't know why were were so surprised by them being hot(well, never been somewhere that offered this so yeah.) Perfect little treat for a cold rainy night. Best place in town to get a donut man are they delicious. I bought a half dozen and they gave me an extra donut like you would with a Baker's dozen. All my donuts came out of the hot case most places I go and they don't have a hot case. The donuts were delicious and read them up pretty quickly definitely going back. read more

730pm on a holiday... They are open and the donuts are fresh... Some being put out right after we walked in the door. The bear claw is the cutest thing ever. Shaped like a paw with little toesies. It has cinnamon on one end and chocolate Inside the other... Just the right about amount of each. It was so soft and delicious. The knife just sunk right into it... That's right... it's big enough to share. Also had the mango filled. Not one I would get again but I felt like I had to try it. It was pretty sweet... But I knew that going into it. Maple bacon bars...cocoa puff...curlers... Blueberry cake....Bavarian cream just on and on... So many donuts. Cappuccino is just 25cents more than coffee. Oh and they deliver donuts and coffee anywhere in Eugene until 5pm. They are open until midnight every day. Even holidays. The people are friendly and seem to enjoy making the customers happy. DDs donuts aren't as good quality as those "gourmet" varieties available in fashionable areas of major cities. However, they compare very favorably to offerings at traditional donut outlets. There are enough options to satisfy anyone; the wide range of flavors and forms is pretty typical. What's atypical --and way better-- is the freshness. To maintain freshness, DDs must be replenishing its supply throughout the day. I don't know what the product is like at, say, 9:00pm. However, the afternoon donuts taste as fresh as the ones in the early morning. They are all that you could want in a sugar-laden indulgence: sweet and pillowy and just plain bad for you. Dizzy Dean's is a happenin' hoppin' place at 9am on a Saturday! Nevertheless, the wait time was super short as the customer in front of us was assisted quickly and another smiling staff member greeted my friend and me with a cheery, What can I get you today?" We selected several donuts for $4.95 (not too bad). While their plain cake donuts are a bit dry and light, their apple fritters were YUMMY and warm! A bit pricier than the $1 cake donut but wayyyy better. We also tried the jelly filled (Dizzy Dean's has a few kinds of jelly filled varieties-- hooray!) and it was delicious albeit quite sweet. I'd have liked it better unglazed or at least LESS glazed, because the jelly donut I tried was as full of jelly filling as I've ever seen...Licking my fingers afterward! A simple unassuming donut joint holds some of the best donuts in Eugene. Made fresh daily and when supplies get low, these are proudly made and taste as such. A simple variety of donuts that are just fantastic. Crullers are sweet and melt in your mouth, bars that have a crispy exterior and soft interior, filled that are balance to be not too full and not too skimpy, apple fritters that taste like solidified apple cider, everything is great and for a great price too. Not sure why this place is so highly rated. They got our order wrong, which is ok, it happens. The doughnuts were way too sweet. The jelly donut filling had the fake taste. The crueller was greasy and the sugar overpowered everything. The dough is ok. Maybe I'll try another time but Market of Choice is probably a better option. read more

I was refused service this morning because I would not buy their cheap mask in order to sell me a doughnut. I asked for the mask for free but she said I had to buy it for $.50. I explained that I was masked and to please sell me a doughnut. She refused and told me to buy her mask or leave. I left. Those masks sell on Amazon for $.25 delivered. They are making a profit selling masks to people wanting to buy doughnuts. This is not right, taking advantage of Covid to make a profit. Just on principal this should be illegal. In all of the years that I've been eating Dizzy Dean's, I haven't ever tried one of their hot donuts, until recently. I had a hot apple fritter and it really took it to the next level! They have a sign in their window that says, "Hot Donuts Now" that they turn on when their donuts are hot. So be on a lookout for the glow of that sign and then head on in and find a donut in the hot case! You won't be disappointed. I also tried their mocha, which comes out of a big machine dispenser thing. I was immediately suspicious of any coffee drink that is dispensed, and rightfully so. I couldn't get past one sip. It tasted like a machine - metallic with a hint of chlorine. I'm not knocking off any stars, because I only care about donuts. But if you're into coffee, don't try that machine - stick with their brewed coffee, (though I haven't tried it so I can't say it's any good). read more

I have been coming here for almost a decade and a half, in that time it's really gone downhill. The only time the donuts are good is in the morning when they are fresh. I have purchased a dozen for work the night before for next day and actually been embarrassed because some of the donuts were so old. Popovers with dried out fruit inside, disgusting! After being mortified at work not once but twice, I just go by Safeway or Albertsons in the morning to get my work friends donuts. At least they're fresh. If I am Downtown I will pick up a dozen from Voodoo the night before. Pros: Open long hours, Very Welcoming Nice Staff Cons: Donuts are not fresh, Gravy is now terrible but used to be the best. I stop by at least one morning a week. So few donut shops make crullers and those are my favorite. Donuts and coffee (four hotpots of different coffee varieties) always fresh and delicious.
