Exceptional chicken spot. Food was amazing, it came out pretty quickly and was hot and fresh. Chicken was perfectly cooked so it was flavorful and juicy, the spicy garlic sauce was literally icing on the top. Fries were seasoned and crispy, and the ones on the bottom were great as they soaked up all the flavor from the spicy garlic sauce. Salad dresses had great flavor and the pickled onion added a nice punch. Staff was extremely friendly and made recommendations as this was our first trip. The restaurant was extremely busy during our visit, so we had to eat at a table down the plaza. I can't wait to return and try some additional sides, along side of the spicy garlic chicken. Hot bird was good!!! Thus far, this is the only one I got and I really liked it. I paired it with the garlic potatoes that were fluffy and soft on the inside. The Hot Bird was filling and although it looked thin, it was just enough to fill me up since I was really hungry that day. I had asked for the jalapenos to be on the side instead of inside, but I still got peppers on the inside and a cup of jalapenos by itself. Weird. I loved that they grilled the burritos. Summary: I definitely plan on coming back again to try something else as I was impressed with what I got and want to try more. Located inside The Spectrum shopping center in Irvine it's a busy spot located near a kid's playground and climbing gym. Service was personable and quick with suggestions. Portions and price are doing a delicate dance here; without the potatoes, I'd have been genuinely annoyed. Staff were friendly and handled the Irvine-level chaos well. The Silly Bird Wrap: The chicken breast is so juicy and tender, and those roasted lemon potatoes are divine, they are soft and melt in your mouth. I'm not even a huge pickle fan, but it went with the whole flavor profile. There's some type of garlic sauce in there, which is delicious. The dizzy bird sauce on the side is an orange-red color, I'm not exactly sure what is in it but it tastes amazing! I'm guessing there are some roasted red peppers/tomatoes in there, plus some garlic, and a touch of sweetness. I alternated between the dizzy bird sauce and the garlic lemon vinaigrette. This place was jam packed. Standing room only. Luckily we managed to snag a table within just a few minutes after ordering. Super busy so it did take a good 20+ minutes to get our food. With that said, it was our first time there, so we didn't realize you could order online ahead of time. Will definitely take advantage of that option next time. We ordered the spicy bird wrap and a garden salad to share. I gotta say, both were pretty tasty. Even the dressing with the garden salad was tasty. I ordered a whole chicken with the potatoes and garden salad to take home for other family members. They gobbled it up and kept saying how good it was. I tried some more of the chicken by itself (not in a wrap) and it was quite good. But I would recommend eating it there while it's piping hot. Taking it to-go and it sitting in a container with the steam makes the skin on the chicken soft, which was a disservice to the good chicken. Eat it immediately while it's hot and fresh from the char grill. Now, moving on to these potatoes with the lemon garlic sauce. WTF is this sauce made with, it's seriously liquid CRACK, it's that good. I could have drank a cup of the sauce on the potatoes. Had I known how good it was I would have ordered a side of just sauce to dunk everything we ordered in it. Overall everything seems of quality, and the flavors are banging. It's my second time eating here in two days and it's AMAZING!!!! The atmosphere in here is lively and the workers and kitchen staff are so friendly! This is a great place to come to get food whether it's to dine in or takeout. Best Halal Chicken hands down. Their potatoes are so yummy with their spicy sauce! The chicken thighs were moist and tender. The breast parts were very dry. If you didn't have the lemon sauce smothered and the extra sauces it will be just like any other rotisserie chicken. The oxidated lettuce leaves were hidden at the bottom of the salad toppings. There's also an extra charge for each sauce. We came at around 7:30 p.m. and all the tables were dirty. The floors and rugs could use serious sweeping. Greek Chicken is better because the chicken by itself without any sauces is truly fall off the bones flavorful. read more

The food is so fresh..... We ordered the whole chicken for $37, it came with 2 sides and we also ordered corn on the cob and a Mediterranean salad with lemon dressing. It was all absolutely amazing. Saw this place at the spectrum and finally decided to give it a try. Turned out to be very good actually. Fiancé got the Dizzy Bird and she said it was very good. I got the chicken with spicy lemon sauce. Its was very tasty, next time ill get the hot sauce on the side, as the chicken was drenched in it and i think it kind of drowned the flavor a little. Currently writing this review after finishing my second Hot Bird Wrap of the week!! I came here for the first time two days ago after the place I MEANT to go to for lunch was unexpectedly closed. It was a happy accident honestly because I've been so fixated on coming back here since I first had it. If you're the kind of person that loves strong, punchy flavors like I do, this is the place for you! When I initially looked at the menu, I was most drawn towards the Chargrilled Wraps. As much as I love wraps, they tend to be overpriced for the amount of food you get. Dizzy Bird is not that kind of place--when I got my order, I was so shocked by the size of the wrap. It's the size of like 2 average wraps. You will get sufficiently full at how much chicken gets stuffed into the wrap. Not only that, it comes with their signature Dizzy Bird Sauce and you can ask for more pickled jalapeños on the side with no extra charge. They're super delicious, extremely mild on the spice (in my opinion) and made in house. The flavor of the wrap itself is so well balanced down to the seasoning of the chicken and the garlic sauce inside. The chicken is soooo juicy and the spice level is perfect. The pita is chargrilled which gives a good crisp to it and it's also the perfect thickness which doesn't overwhelm the wrap as a whole. The service here is great and I've ran into the same blonde lady at the register both times I've gone. She's so lively and I really appreciated that especially during my lunch breaks :) This place is definitely going to be another fixation of mine for a while! read more

I don't recall how or when I bookmarked this place but I'd easily slap myself for waiting so long to try it! Everyone that goes to Irvine spectrum knows it's not a quick run in and out place so you need to know, it's near the kids jungle gym. It's more of a fast food set up than a restaurant. Parking is always an issue so just be prepared. Food: 5/5: Silly Bird Wrap. This was so flavorful! The chicken was actually seasoned! The wrap has a grilled almost smoked flavor that locked me in immediately. Next time I'll get the Classic bird wrap because it doesn't have the potatoes. 4/5: 1/2 Chicken plate with pesto pasta salad (cold) and baked sweet potato. This was good but the wrap was far better. We got lucky and got a table but people were standing waiting for their food way too close while we were trying to eat. Dizzy Bird needs to reconfigure the space because inside is so small. Anyway, hopefully they will open a Long Beach Xchange/Lakewood location (hint hint) so I don't have to drive to Irvine!! Until then, we WILL be back! read more
