Love the chili here. Always HOT and messy. Service is cafeteria style. Nice and clean

It's better than Skyline.

Bottom Line: Dixie Chili is better than Skyline! I can hear someone saying: "Well that's just YOUR opinion." To that I respond: "No shit. Of course it's MY opinion, I'm the one writing this, right?" So to back up my claim, consider the objective facts: Dixie chili, per unit of mass/volume, has more protein, fewer carbs, and less fat than Skyline. It has a superior consistency (less watery), too. Subjectively, Dixie has more flavor, period. PLUS, the option of adding garlic to the chili or to the chili Mac (exclusive to Dixie) puts DC over the top!

I am a born and raised Cincinnatian, my husband a Cincy chili convert. He has been trying all of the chili places he can in the greater Cincinnati area, so while driving through Kentucky we decided to stop at Dixie Chili. Ordering at the counter is very convenient and by the time you slide your tray down the line your order is ready and waiting for you. Lots of cheese graced our 3 ways, they looked well made. My only complaint is I did not care for the chili. Tasted more like a coney sauce to me. Guess I really am a Skyline girl. But I suggest you try it for yourself.

How disappointed we were. The vegetarian chili was an embarrassment for any restaurant. The standard chili is good, but tasted old/reheated. The hot sauce was sweet and not "hot." The restaurant was in need of cleaning. After visiting Skyline and Gild Star in same city (Florence), Dixie was a noticeable step down. A shame. Years ago I loved this spot when I lived in Florence.

Hometown favorite grateful They canned it!

Dixie is iconic to this area and a childhood memory I will never forget. I will never pass up an opportunity to purchase Dixie chili!

Gotta get it early!

Worst sandwiches I have ever eaten. They don't even have a toaster. The meat is low low quality.

My first experience with Cincinnati chili. It was ok, but I make better at home. Waffle fries were good and the place was clean.

I live the taste of Dixie chili the more cheese the better. I recommend the Greek salad before hand and a gator dog for dessert

When we sat upstairs, our waitress suggested a few seasonal drinks which I really enjoyed. The food was also really tasty. I love the ambiance inside and all of the woodwork. Definitely a comfortable atmosphere I'd return to! The biggest struggle is the parking lot. Try to come early or it might be too packed.

Expect a moderately high energy vibe during peak times. Quick and friendly! The wait was 30 min, as it appeared so many others also had the idea to visit this morning. My friend chose the BYO quesadilla, which was served with sour cream and salsa. She also got a side of fruit. I opted for the BYO omelette. It comes with a bread option, so I went for one of their in-house biscuits with a side of gravy. The onions were a fine dice and well sautéed in my omelette, which was perfect! And the biscuit was just as yummy as I remembered. Good things to note: You pay at the table, with the option to do tap/Apple pay , which I greatly appreciate. Don't forget to get a couple of biscuits to take home and later enjoy with butter and honey.
