Ambiance: it is situated in a beautiful neighborhood with an almost "Hocus Pocus (Disney movie)" vibe. Very charming and mellow. Parking is a breeze - curbside or in a parking area. Now, when you open the door to the place, THIS IS when your world changes. You are met with the kindest and most helpful employees behind a display case of GREATNESS! Seriously, I wanted to eat everything I saw and I tend to not be super big on desserts. But this place is special. The display case proudly showcases their elegant array of desserts which you can almost taste by glaring at them. Each one looks flawless and tasty. Also, on the wall are their accolades/awards (if you didn't already know how amazing they are by reading my review ). It's a nice touch showing this place takes great pride in their hard work and everything they do. Presentation is everything to me and they knocked this part of it out of the park! They were very informative, polite, easy to speak with, and helped me pick the desserts I wanted (so I wouldn't buy literally everything I saw, ha!). (Thank you for that, btw!) They answered questions and never made me feel rushed. Please be informed, I showed up only for a birthday cake and left with 5 or more pastries on top of that! Let that be an indicator of how good the food is. Also, I had initially called 5 minutes before closing on Monday and they not only answered my questions, but offered to take my order if I was interested. Food: Well, ya made it this far through my moderately coherent ramblings, so let's talk about the food... Have you ever seen something and thought "yeah, I know that that tastes like already/I can taste it already?" Well, it's like that but better in my opinion. The attention to detail on the strawberries being slices and the garnish pieces on the cake was a nice touch. The pastries are not like pastries I have seen before. For example, the apricot pastries use real full slices of apricots on them. Many places use an apricot jelly, but not this place. They also have a variety of cheesecake here and THEY.ALL.LOOK.GOOD. Got a birthday cake for a surprise party. Orange truffle. I did a sketch with a campfire on the cake in honor of our retired firefighter friend. Not only did the cake look amazing, the flavors were fantastic. Service was pleasant and patient, and the cake was ready right on schedule. Our whole party was delighted with it! For a pretty large cake of absolutely the highest quality, we paid less than $50. Orange truffle is an option on their regular menu. Cake was moist, mousse was magical, icing incredible. I am still just absolutely floored by the wedding cake we received from Divine Desserts, and I am eager and ready to recommend their services to anyone! My husband and I were clients of the venue Monte Verde Inn, who partners with Divine Desserts for the personalized cake included in their meal packages. The size of the cake offered is proportional to the guest count, and the options of choosing an assortment of other baked goods or even receiving reimbursement to put towards another bakery were also made available. When ready, my then-fiancé and I reached out to Divine Desserts for a cake sample box, and every flavor was truly delicious. I am in the minority of people who do not like fruit, which was something incorporated into many of the cakes, and even I enjoyed everything we tried. Before calling Divine Desserts with our flavor decision, I scanned their reviews and different social media pages for frosting and decoration reference images to send to Esther Aguirre. Esther was so kind, patient, and helpful every time we interacted-- explaining the size of the cake we would be receiving and reassuring that the florals provided by Monte Verde's partnered florist would be arranged according to the inspiration. The carrot cake we received was beyond perfection in both appearance and taste. The portions presented were very generous, and I heard several complimentary remarks from guests-- even from those who wouldn't ordinarily care much for dessert. I consider myself a bakery aficionado, and have driven to Tahoe on I-80 perhaps 500 times in my 50+ years of driving, so I was flabbergasted to find such an excellent morning goodie spot so close to the freeway. Their pastries are always so so yummy and decadent. This time we ordered a white cake with the berry filling for my Daughter's graduation. It was heaven according to everyone who had a piece. Light, fluffy, moist and the berry cream in the middle was just as fantastic. A hit with even those who do not like cake. Here I am 4 days later and my husband brings me the only piece left of the cake. I simply didn't have time to eat much of anything that day let alone cake. Leslie helped me place an order for a custom birthday cake with strawberry champayne. She was very prompt and helpful despite being very busy. The cake was ready on time. Initially, I had wish there was more color on our Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist, design, because she is an artist, but Divine Desserts captured her portrait beautifully and it was delicious! We phoned in a cake order a week in advance and they were able to accommodate us. We first heard about them after trying their cake at a friend's party and wanted to have one for our own event as well. We ordered an 8" round strawberry champagne cake and it was delicious. I am a very picky dessert buyer. I try very hard not to overindulge, but with discovering how great this place is, I just might have to reconsider. I stopped in yesterday on my way to Roseville to see what it was like, and was more than surprised at how fantastic their product is. I am in an area where supermarket bakery items or only a few choices for baked goods are available. I do not care for pastry with no sugar -- it is tasteless. Most supermarket pies, pastry, etc. is loaded with so many preservatives I really don't want to buy them. One market, in particular, has items that taste like old flour was used. I also refuse to pay $36.00 for an apple pie (not at a market). I bought a sampling of some items just to see what they were like. The linzer cookies were right on! Light, filled correctly, and very tasty. The Italian wedding cookies were right on as well. They took me back to a friend's mom in my youth who made them for Christmas. The apple strudel was great! The pastries were done right. Wonderful! I have sampled pastries in Paris, and other areas in France where pastry is an art form, and this place rivals some of the best I had there. Ana and Esther at Divine Desserts were nothing short of amazing; understanding, helpful and extremely professional. The cake that they created with LESS than twenty fours hours notice was gorgeous, delicious and half the price of the original cake. My husband brought home a few treats from here, most of which were really good! We had a couple macarons which weren't the best I have had, but my husband liked them. We also got a chocolate tower, key lime pie, and a raspberry bomb (I didn't go to the shop with him so I'm not sure of the actual names-see photo). The chocolate tower was delicious, smooth mousse and moist chocolate cake. The raspberry bomb was...bomb! One of my favorites. The key lime pie was just alright to the both of us. It just didn't impress as much as the two chocolate options. The shining star of the bunch though was the eclair! Typically, I am not a fan of eclairs. I find them rather boring and plain, but that's because I never had this eclair before. It is filled with custard instead of whip cream and it makes all the difference!
