I've had Salt and Straw in the Bay Area before, so it was exciting to find out that they had a location in this area. We came here after having dinner in the same plaza. There's parking in the front and a parking lot next to the stores. I heard the downtown location you have to pay for parking. Signed up for an account in their app for a free double scoop for a limited time. Walked in and saw this place was a big. They had a cute merch stand but I don't think there was any inside seating just outside. They had a few workers that helped us sample the ice cream. I thought it was smart they added like a small opening inside the counter to put their tasting spoons in. They rotate their limited edition flavors. They are known for their unique flavors. Ended up getting the strawberry coconut sherbet and the salted malted chocolate cookie dough. I cant wait to take others to this place.
Love this location! Located within the fountains it's a great spot to grab a cone & walk around. I do wish the location was a little larger & hard more seating. On weekends it can be difficult to find a table inside or outside. We love sampling all the fun seasonal flavors & appreciate the friendliness of the staff here. The price of the ice cream can feel a little steep but the quality is definitely worth it!
Every time we pass by a Salt & Straw location, we always have to make a stop for our usual, Sea Salt w/Caramel Ribbons. We try all the flavors, but that's always our go to. This specific location is in an extremely busy shopping center, so though there are lots of parking, it's usually full. There's no seating, but plenty space indoor for a line (more than I'm used to at other locations), which is a definite plus. There's staff is nice with greeting and acknowledging guests. This was my first time at this location and won't be my last.
I love salt and staw for their changing flavors!! Tried the yuzu cheesecake and chocolate Carmel for the month of June. Wish I tried the yam the pic make it look like a sweet potatoe on the cartoon. Milk tea was good but had an aftertaste. Also my dog got a pup cup :) they also had a bathroom. You can do a single scope w/ 2 flavors
We got Apple Sherbert and Maltalted Salted Cookie Dough. They had lost of random flavors and a few normal flavors, it smelt really good in there (like waffle cones). The ice cream was gross, I took one bite and threw it away. I couldnt tell you if the dairy they used to make the ice cream was expired or the cow they got it from was, but I can tell you I wouldn't go back if there was no other place in Roseville to get ice cream.
This location is inside The Fountains shopping center, just around the corner from Whole Foods. It's more spacious than the Midtown location, though there isn't any indoor seating available. There's a small section of merchandise and other goods displayed along the back wall. During our recent visit, they were featuring their Vegandulgence Series of flavors. I tried the sweet potato casserole flavor and ended up ordering it. The more I ate it, the more it reminded me of peanut butter, but I was looking for something on the lighter side and it worked out. The staff was helpful and friendly, and most importantly, the kids were happy with their ice cream.
I definitely prefer this location instead of the location in downtown Sacramento. Only because this location is bigger and there's an actual parking lot that you don't have to pay for parking. I have the Salt and Straw app and thought it was convenient that this location was in the same plaza for me to be able to redeem my complimentary Double Scoop so I can take it home. I sampled a few flavors and ultimately decided to go for a scoop of the Arbequina Olive Oil and a scoop of the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. I wanted to try something different since I typically go for the Honey Lavender or Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. I liked how unique the Arbequina Olive Oil flavor was and how you can definitely taste a hint of the olive oil along with the creamy flavor and texture of the ice cream. As for the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, I'm a big fan of any cookie dough flavors so thought this was a unique cookie dough type. The worker who also served me even mentioned that their Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is a favorite flavor at their specific location.
Went in to build a pint Sunday..and Lilly who was Such a sweet ray of sunshine and created the most delicious emotional support pint that didn't make it home because it was so good! I loveeee this location! Super patient and so helpful you made my day! This location and staff are amazing and lilly was the best! I was really having a rough day and it was perfect! Salt & Straw is such an ice cream institution. Every time we are near one- we almost always stop. This holiday season they did not disappoint. The pineapple upside down cake ice cream was truly incredible. How do they come up with this stuff?? I love that they let you sample unlimited flavors and are so nice about it- even encouraging. When you have so many funky flavors, I guess that's the best policy. They also have a new Taco Bell collab item called The Tacolate. It's like a choco taco but better. The sauces it comes with are crazy good. I loved the spicy one. Heads up- there aren't really any tables at Salt & Straw, so be prepared to walk with your ice cream or take it somewhere else to eat. Salt & Straw is always a win. Great service, great ice cream, good vibes. Love it here!
I was told to come here many times by family and friends. I went to this location when I was with my husband because we were in the area and wanted a sweet treat. The line was out the door! You know a place is GREAT when the line is like that. I LOVE that there was an employee at the door managing the customers and their entrance. She was sweet and asked each party how many people there were and let people in accordingly. This whole process went smoothly and was quick. Since this was our first time, Sam, the person helping us let us try many flavors and gave the best recommendations. Needless to say, we loved what we ordered and did not let any part of our ice cream go to waste. I recommend you check out Salt & Straw for yummy ice cream!
After a late afternoon of Top Golf, I decided to treat my family and I to some dessert at Salt & Straw for the first time. I'm more familiar with the Salt & Strae location in the I've Blocks are of downtown Sacramento. But for one reason of another (mainly due to how busy they are), I found myself visiting the Roseville location vs my local Sacramento one. As I drove by looking for parking I could tell this location was pretty popular as well, but after arriving I realized Salt & Strae is setup to assist several people at once. The menu at first plance looks very different than your average ice cream spot, with unique Limited Edition flavors like: Apple & Cheedar Donuts, or Caramel Apple Shebert, or Classic Flavors: Honey Lavender, Pear & Blue Cheese, or even more with their "Last Chance" flavors like Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero. Salt & Straw has to have the oddest flavors of ice cream that I've even heard of, and for that reason my son and I had to try their Last Chance, Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero flavor. I could tell the difference in texture with the Goat Cheese, and the Marionberry Habanero combination provided both a sweet and slightly spicy combination. We both however chose from their simpler flavors to enjoy. Sampled: Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero Ordered: Chocolate gooey brownie (single, cup) Double fold Vanilla (double, cup) Hazelnut Cookies & Cream (single, cup) Sea Salt w/Caramel Ribbons (single, cone) I ordered the Chocolate Gooey Brownie flavor which was really good. Nice and chocolate, with gooey pieces of chocolate and brownie...right up my alley. My youngest seem to enjoy his Hazelnut Cookies & Cream the most, as he finished his first. Everyone else enjoyed their personal choices as well. Overall: Very unique and classic flavors, with a wide variety of choices for everyone.
This is not your regular old ice cream shop. Salt & Straw is a whirlwind experience for your tastebuds! The flavors are like no other...so many combinations you never knew you needed to taste! The flavors we chose were the great candycopia and jack o lantern pumpkin bread...both were amazing! But what set this visit apart was the service. Ryan served us so well...he was friendly, helpful, and he didn't just pass us our samples, he explained what was in each flavor and gave us great recommendations. You could tell he really cared, and that's pretty rare these days. That's also what made our visit so delightful. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended and thank you so much Ryan for providing us a service that's a scoop above the rest!
Came here on a Sunday night for a friends birthday around 8pm. There was a small line, but the line moved by fast. I've been to several Salt & Straw locations and this one was no different, the service was good, the servers offered as many samples as I want to ensure I pick out the right flavor and of course they gave me a generous serving of ice cream. I always get a waffle cone with a single split scoop. Like other Salt & Straws location they don't have any seating inside but being in a plaza with many shops, this is the perfect spot to grab ice cream and walk around! Would highly recommend when wanting a sweet treat!

You know you're officially an adult when your late-night plans turn into, "Where can I get ice cream after 9?" A quick search brought me to Salt & Straw. I'd been to one down in SoCal before, so I already knew I was probably making a good decision. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile. The shop was clean, the vibe was good, and the staff immediately offered samples. Honestly, that's a dangerous game because suddenly I wanted everything. After trying a couple flavors and joking around with the crew, they suggested the Birthday Cakes & Blackberries. Sold. It was the perfect mix of sweet with just enough blackberry to balance it out. Definitely hit the spot on a warm night. The ice cream was great, but the people working there made the visit even better. Friendly, patient, and happy to let me sample a few flavors without making me feel rushed. If you're at The Fountains and that dessert craving sneaks up on you, this place is worth the stop. Just don't blame me if you leave with more than one scoop. read more
I didn't know they had a Salt and Straw in Roseville! I love their salted caramel vanilla ice cream. It's just as good as any other Salt and Straw store. The store is quite large because there were no tables or chairs inside. The service was fast and efficient. You can sample as many flavors as you want!!! I'll definitely come back here when I'm visiting the mall across the street. read more

We first came to this shop when it was new to the area. It has maintained its status as a delightful place to get a quality ice cream indulgence. It is roomy & clean with no indoor seating, though there is seating outside the store & around the shopping center. There is a display of merchandise to browse. A freezer holds prepackaged items. Staff has been polite, friendly, & pleasant. You are welcomed to try out flavors. Samples are given on small metal spoons with receptacles to return them located below the counter in labeled slots. You will find a variety of unique, interesting, gourmet flavor options on their Classic & changing Limited Edition menus, with vegan options. No matter how unusual the flavor combos sound, be adventurous with sampling & I think you'll find your palate pleasantly surprised. We've been amazed at what we've enjoyed, like some of the spicy & savory choices. Coffee & Love Nuts is my classic fave. It's really fun to taste something new & eye opening, even if it's not what you end up ordering. This is a worthwhile ice cream experience. read more
I finally got to try Salt & Straw at the Fountains! This is one of the newer locations and it truly elevated this area. It's so convenient to grab a sweet treat now after shopping or dining, and there's adequate parking too. I tried the Chocolate Gold Almond Bar flavor and it was so gooey with caramel and had delicious chunks of almond bar. The service was fast but could be friendlier. read more
Unique flavors! Tired of the same old ice cream? This is your place. Located in the Galleria it's convenient to drop by after shopping. We all ordered single scoops. They offer the ability to order to different flavors with half scoops each. I tried the banana bread and strawberry jelly. It was very delish, however I could have split with husband, it was so sweet. You can try samples before ordering. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cute. read more

One star is for when Diego saw me. Star number two is when Diego smiled at me. Star number three is for Diego talking about cream flavors. Star number four is when Diego introduced me to my new favorite flavor ever, salted malted caramel. Star number 5 is for our teary emotional goodbyes and the realization that this might be the last time I ever see him. No stars In the galaxy could represent every emotion I felt during this interaction. 5 stars does not convey the feelings I felt for Diego at Salt & Straw Bro recommended the Malted Caramel and I swear my life has been different ever since. That flavor had me practically jorking it before I even finished the scoop. He was so friendly and genuine that my friends had to listen to me talk about Diego for the rest of the day. At some point I stopped reviewing the ice cream and started reviewing Diego. I love this guy. Completely platonic, but I love this guy. The dude made getting ice cream feel like the highlight of my week. Salt & Straw, give him a raise. If Diego has a million fans, I'm one of them. If he has one fan, it's me. After dinner at the Galleria mall I found this place looking for ice cream and was really excited. We had been to a location in Seattle where the chain started, and remembered how they serve top end savory, heavy, and delectable ice cream flavors. The place was simply decorated as I remember with quick, friendly service. I got a waffle cone with double scoop of Vanilla Apple custard tart and Chocolate gooey brownie. We sat outside in the pleasant fall evening and enjoyed our cream as many other people were enjoying the same. read more

The fragrance fills the whole street with a level of sweetness that's so delightful. When I walked in I was reminded of Cold stone. The service was exceptionally good, they have so many samples to try without and grief. That's how I was able to select the best option for my first time. The ambiance is okay nothing too special for an ice cream parlor. read more

Ok. I really loved the place the first time my wife brought it home. Chocolate gooey brownie is perfection. So we decided to take all the kids here and they were sampling things... I don't typically sample things once I know what I like. However, the kids were sampling and because it was the Halloween season, they had a selection of Halloween flavors including one called "Creepy Crawly Critters" and my son tried it, handed it to me, I tried it and it didn't taste good at all. In fact, it tasted a bit foul. But, you can't please all pallets and I thought it was a marketing gimmick to attract kids. We get our ice cream and sit outside. It was a beautiful day and I still had this aftertaste that was not pleasant. That was when my daughter read the window flyer that had all of the flavors and with the specific Halloween flavors, the contents.... Now that I ate crickets and mealy worms I don't know how I feel about it all. First, we live in California where there are signs everywhere warning people of hazards which include signs next to pools that alert people that death by drowning is possible. I mean, they even had a "V" next to the vegan options. But the flavor that had bugs? Not even a warning from the attendant. Nope- nothing. Full send. Immediately I thought, "wow, what a complete miss. It tastes foul, and even a bit rancid." It made ice cream kinda gross and keep in mind, I had no idea it had bugs in it yet. The taste lingered, and lingered and lingered. As I was sharing my scoop of chocolate gooey brownie with my wife, my daughter busted up laughing and said to my son, you sampled the one crickets and mealy worms!!! Which meant I also sampled it. Over all the ice cream here is kinda hit and miss. I have had other flavors that do not have bugs in it and find they tend to miss the mark on many of them but on some they nail it. For instance, the vegan peanut butter is killer. The salted caramel is too salty. Leaving out my experience of the bugs, I would say 3 stars mostly because of consistency. Having said that, the base of the ice cream is well done meaning it is creamy, and doesn't lack for quality. The service is solid but again, I think it would be nice if they explained the contents of the more exotic flavors. Kinda like a wine tasting. The servers provided samples quickly and they use metal spoons that make sampling much better. Finally they provide a good size scoop of ice cream for the price. Four stars. The ambiance is a bit lacking. There is an out of place retail spot and no tables or benches inside to sit. The flow of people makes it awkward to accomplish this so enjoying anything inside would be difficult. Plus, the flow itself lends to backed up lines quickly if people sample the items. Stars- 3 Would I be back? Yes, but mostly because of the flavor I love. It is wonderful. If that were to be rotated out, I would probably pass by. I do know that many people love the place and I can see the appeal. The ice cream itself as a base is excellent. There just seems to be some quirky elements that didn't land with me. I would, given the above, score this a solid three. However, I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt and provide an additional star- why? Well, any ice cream store crazy enough to serve bugs in their ice cream is part of the group of people crazy enough to change the world. That deserves praise and reward!! read more
