Diva on Greenwood was my first taste of espresso in Seattle. My mission is to try as many coffee joints as I can, and this place currently tops the list for ambiance, goodies and friendly staff. My roommate took me here to chat about house stuff while we sipped. I was lame and got an iced drink (which according to a friend is committing espresso suicide and apparently I should be tried in the Barista court of law), but I am happy to say I have since returned and purchased many a latte. The windows are steamy, goodies delicious, and not to mention cuties working. Viva Diva. read more

Let me potentially save you a headache: currently this store closes at 8, not 9, due to special "Winter hours." Yes, even though it's not posted anywhere online. (The website says 9.) Yes, even though it's technically Spring now. Yes, even though that's really annoying when you make plans to meet someone there at 8 and you get there at 8:05 and the place is locked down. Ask me how I know. But: the barista took pity on our plight and let us stick around and drink tea while he cleaned up. He was really understanding and cool about the whole thing, and that earns back a lot of stars! Thanks, dude! read more

Love this place!! its a small, friendly, warm atmosphere! The staff is welcoming and friendly. I got my son a hot chocolate and they made a leaf on top of his drink. Very cool!! Thank you for making my son feel special in a coffee place! read more

Diva Espresso - Yummy almond croissant and cup of coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Rude as hell Barista- tall longer hair blonde guy. Could tell was rubbed wrong and put off before we even placed our order. Ordered one hot and one iced drink and got two hot drinks. When we kindly asked for another cup full of ice to pour the hot latte in, he snapped and called us indecisive after slamming the cup full of ice on the counter but not before we corrected him and told him he got the order wrong. You might want to check his job requirements for the position as he obviously can't meet them. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced in a coffee shop. I stopped in as a treat to myself after a long day, and the barista (tall blonde guy) was so rude and condescending. He told me my order was 'disgusting' and continued to mumble to himself while making my drinks. If you're going to hire baristas, at least make sure they know how to talk to people with an ounce of respect. Coffee was subpar. Would never recommend to any one. read more

Chumley chumley chumley. Nothing beats a Caramel Chumley from Diva on a sunny day. Their espresso is amazing, great service. Nothing to complain about Diva. For a restaurant in Phinneywood, they have a parking lot! That's pretty cool. I keep coming back for the chumlies, you'll have to try one yourself, you'll be hooked. read more

I am from Chicago and visited Seattle thinking the coffee would be way better - and Diva Espresso proved me right! I enjoyed a caramel latte two days in a row, and my husband loved the Omega sized Mocha. The staff was very friendly and the store was adorable. I miss this place already! read more

A tall mocha set me back $4.88. The coffee was good, better than what I normally expect when trying a place for the first time. What I do expect, though, is a friendly, welcoming environment from the customer facing staff. I found this to be a bit lacking on this visit. Having not been in for several years, I couldn't say if this is the standard or just a one off. I'd be willing to give it another try, but I don't see Diva being my regular go-to. read more

Good latte and friendly staff. Baked goods are definitely over-priced and not worth it but are good enough. read more

Awesome espresso, beats all of the chains hands down. Was a little apprehensive because we've gotten bad coffee at so many local spots, but Diva Espresso changed our mind. The blended espresso drinks are amazing as well as their lattes. There is a good amount of parking in the back, and a good bit of seating inside and a patio. Don't miss the pastry case. It's inside the door and around the counter. We will definitely be back. read more

They used to have white knuckle breakfast sandwiches which are delicious, but they no longer stock them and the replacement brand is not as good. Also the baristas do not appear to know the difference between the drinks on their menu as they have three times made me the wrong drink. It's frustrating to have to babysit and tell them what the ingredients are. Too bad it's the only place that has soma shakes, however it's very difficult to actually get one here as they mess it up almost every time. The chai here is also good (Black Scottie chai), at least when they use the right proportions, which is also not 100%. Sometimes they make it and it tastes like milk instead of chai. In short, this place could be great, but fails at basic standards instead. read more

Recently decided to try this little shop out and I have been going back ever since. Way better then Starbucks in my opinion. The chumleys are my ultimate favorite read more

Today was first time in, although I've driven by Diva Espresso the last 5 years. The barista was very nice as I stared at all the pastries in the case. I ordered an iced chai tea, which was pretty much the best chai I've ever had. I the croissant was buttery and flakey, and absolutely what I was needing as a late breakfast rushing to an appointment. Thanks Diva Espresso I'll be back for sure, especially because you guys actually have parking in greenwood read more

Diva Espresso - Yummy croissant - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Great selection of coffee and tea, big tables, outlets all over the place, free internet, bathrooms. Barista was friendly. I think that about covers it. read more

I used to frequent Diva Espresso when I worked at a school around the corner. The staff there is very good to teachers (once a month they have Teacher Appreciation Day where you can get a free drip coffee and half off a pastry). Generally, coffee shop mochas give me a headache (not joking) but Diva's is the ONLY place I have found in Western Washington that does not have this effect on me. I don't know what kind of chocolate they use but it works. During spring and summer months I would recommend sitting outside either at the tables facing Greenwood Ave or on the back patio. My only complaint about is the small size of the coffee shop. There are not very many tables and often times people stay for a long time with their work and computers. But if you don't mind sharing a table then this shouldn't be a problem! read more

The tall guy that's working at this location was rather terse during our short conversation. His attitude definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Coffee was great and speedy though! read more

I go to diva every Friday morning to get a tea and a pastry. Their super fast but their pastries can be a little dry.

Given the name Diva, I thought it would be fitting to list my likes and dislikes for this coffee house.. Likes: 1) There's a parking lot. 2) People watching on Greenwood Ave. Dislikes: 1) Three baristas behind the counter. I was the only customer, but it took close to 15 minutes for me to leave with coffee in hand. Most of that time was spent waiting to be acknowledged by the chatty workers. All three were engrossed in a conversation about cheap wine and parties with someone who came in to visit them. Enjoy your work, but please don't forget about your paying customers. 2) I thought I ordered a vanilla latte. Not a tall cup of syrup with a dash of coffee. 3) No wi-fi. Needless to say my list of likes are pretty weak. read more

Been coming here for years and have always loved the coffee, treats, and especially the awesome baristas! Sam and Graham especially have sent me off to work many a weekend with a delicious coffee and a smile on my face. However, I, too, am troubled by the news about employees not getting their breaks, so I will be boycotting until this is resolved. Very disappointed in the ownership. read more

I live close to the Greenwood location and visit the Diva regularly. Great coffee and service, yet I find their lack of compliance with labor laws and treatment of their staff troubling. Until I hear that these issues are fairly resolved, I am taking my business elsewhere. I'm no Starbucks fan, but I at least know there is a basic level of respect for employees. read more

What a cool cute little coffee spot! The layout and decor is quirky and neat and overall this joint just feels welcoming. They have a 'feature your pet' board up where customers can post photos of their pets (mostly dogs) and they also had, what appeared to be, children's colorings on a different wall. It just added to the "community" feeling of this Diva. There was also your typical art and such displayed on walls and filling in corners. Plenty of seating and their free WIFI password is prominently displayed on a placard so there's no Sherlock Holmes routine involved when you try to hop onto the interwebs. I had my usual tasty Diva Americano with an extra shot. I want to taste the angst in every sip! It also doesn't hurt that this location is adjacent to Valentine's so I can stop in before a haircut. Really the only weird thing for me was the brorista wasn't quite sure about me. Maybe I looked like a convict with my hoodie up but it was raining and cold outside. My friggin' ears were about to fall off like meaty earcicles. Next time I'll come in wearing helium filled balloon animals and flowers with LED lights. This way they'll know I'm a friendly dude... or extra creepy. Greenwood Diva Espresso is a great spot for a quick cup of Joe or a spot to relax and sip your latte. I'm a fan! read more

I needed some fuel. A yogurt and handful of strawberries wasn't going to suffice. I'm in training mode and a ten mile walk was what I had planned. As I drove towards Greenlake, I decided a coffee would be tasty and give me some pep, since I was a tired girly this morning. Found parking conveniently in the lot, and stepped in. Same time as an obvious regular. I ordered my iced latte and a new staff member came up to ring me up and asked the barista what she was making, an iced latte. "Really? Iced? Really, an iced latte?" Hell, maybe this was an inside joke, but I felt like I had to say something, so I did. "Yes, I like iced lattes" I ordered a slice of bread which was dry, and soon enough was cast aside so they could fawn over a regular. Sorry Diva, your Divalicious behavior means when I go for coffee (which is NOT very often these days), I will go somewhere else. PS.... your iced latte was not all that. read more

Arrived around 9am on Sunday morning to get a drip coffee and I was surprised to find a line. I was irritated and glad at the same time (it must be good, but I was in a rush). It only took a few minutes to get through the line...the guy in front of me ordered a latte which had pretty latte art on top--I suddenly wanted a latte just so I could look at my coffee in admiration, but I was in a rush and ordered the drip. It was strong, and really, really good. In fact, it was the best tasting drip coffee I've had since moving to Seattle. The "Diva" title is well deserved! read more

Received really terrible service here. When my friend and I walked in, there were two men at the counter. We waited, then moved out of the way for a man who came in after us. After a little while, a woman and two children came in. The barista skipped us in the line (we had been the only people besides the two she was already helping). When the man, who had come in after wardsrealized this, he turned to us and apologized. The barista then informed us (in a very sarcastic tone) that we needed to," wait UNDER the order sign". Now, I live in the neighborhood and have been in before (2x prior this week, same barista) and had NEVER been informed. I guess she was trying to make an example of us (?). She was very rude. Also, after we got our coffee she helped the next (and only other party) FROM THE COUNTER. Why were we the only ones informed of this order line? Why did she stare at us and not inform us while she was helping the only other party?? This put me and my friend in a very uncomfortable situation as we are both minorities and everyone else was Caucasian. It was awkward to be treated like that while no one else was. The barista knew I was upset and offered me the office's number which, I called and left a message. I did receive a call from the GM later the next day saying that the barista had called THE OWNERS and told them she informed everyone to wait under the sign......um...no, she did not and obviously she was worried about getting into trouble.... With all the coffee shops in Seattle, please do not support this Diva Espresso location. No customer should ever be treated in this manner. The sad thing is that if the barista had just apologized for skipping us (she didn't) or informing ALL of us (not just the brown ones) about the order area, it could have been avoided. read more

Small, simple coffee shop that has tasty drinks, sandwiches, and sweets. The menu isn't cluttered with too many choices, and the seating areas aren't so crowded that your chair is resting against someone else's. Quiet, good music, plenty of wall outlets, clean bathrooms, and private parking. What's not to love? read more

Rather than go to Greenwood Chocolati last week, I went to Diva - - and I'm glad I did! Diva has friendly and efficient staff, bright and sunny rooms, tasty chocolate milk and quality coffee at reasonable prices (and quite a large range of choices, too), and no violent images on the walls. It's the anti-chocolati! I never liked Chocolati's dark rooms, overpriced and sludgy drinks chocolate (was it chocolate? or mud?) but it was near my daughter's class, we had coupons, all the other reasons that make the mediocre tolerable. Then came the day that I looked up and saw a picture of blood-stained people holding meat cleavers, knives, swords - - really, doesn't anyone at Greenwood Chocolati have any decency or common sense? They're inviting children in with a kids menu, for heaven's sake, but I wouldn't wish a picture like that on my worst enemy, let alone my child. So I was very surprised to discover that right across the street was Diva - - warm, friendly Diva! Even the customers smile and talk to each other - - something that doesn't happen at Chocolati. The staff actually tries to make a drink to order the way the customer wants and doesn't try to arm-twist you into buying more food. Again, all anti-Chocolati, but who cares about that dive? I'm going to Diva from now on! read more

What cute and cozy place! I am not a coffee fan! Sorry! I had the Diva vanilla drink (better than a shake) with caramel topping! I liked the small patio area where you can sit and relax. The deck may need to be replaced soon but the fence gave you some privacy from the busy streets! I will be back! read more

I like going to Diva Espresso for a tea. I go there regularly either to meet with someone or to work on my computer for an hour or so. It is a cozy and inviting coffee shop and it has free wifi. The staff is always friendly. They have a small parking lot, though there's plenty of street parking in the area. The perfect spot for a break and a warm beverage! read more

Went here for the first time today, and I definitely will be coming back! Had the most DELICIOUS toasted marshmallow mocha- they have a ton of different flavor options, and I'm excited to try fun new combos. The ambiance is super cute and comfortable, and the service is great! If you go when Katarina is working, it'll be your lucky day. Big fan right here!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I heart you Diva Espresso because you are the only place in town where I can find a butterhorn pastry and cranky, but authentic barristas. :) It just wouldn't be a real espresso experience for me without this combo. read more

Ok coffee--nothing to write home about. Lackluster ambience. The place isn't well decorated or clean. Friendly baristas (at least when I was there). Considering the abundance of quality coffee shops in the area, it's unlikely that this is one to which I would choose to return. read more

The staff is always super friendly and the coffee is great =). Also, I LOVE the biscotti!

Love this place!!! Their chai is the best - perfect blend of spicy and sweet! AND (best part of all) gluten free and dairy free treats! Wow! My new favorite spot! read more

Cute place, I didn't grab any pastries or snacks, but it appeared they have some yummy options. Just snagged a grande americano. It was nice, smooth, but nothing overly bold or exquisite. The staff was super nice and friendly. read more

Staff here were friendly and helpful, and the coffee selection was great. I had an iced mocha with coconut milk and orange zest that was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. My friend enjoyed something made with decaf. They have a very convenient location complete with parking lot. I'll be back! read more

The baristas working here were nice, but to be honest, this is the worst coffee I have ever had in Seattle. The double espresso I had was burnt, way too hot, and tasted like carbon. It sad to say, but true. Walk 2 blocks and go to 7 Coffee Roasters. read more

I'm so ashamed. I've lived within walking distance of Diva for a year now and just started frequenting this shop. The coffee is GREAT; they offer almond milk and always manage to make the coffee taste toasty but not burned. The specialty drinks that I've tried are indulgent and delicious. I also think the staff is very friendly. I have not had a lot of Diva pastries, but I've taken to dreaming about their cookies at night. The interior does get busy, but it's so cute and cozy. It makes want to hang out in there and relax with my latte while doing word searches with my neighbors. read more

I go to cafes for the atmosphere and the baked goods instead of coffee (I'm a tea drinker). The banana nut bread here is supurb and its not too sweet like most, just right. There's also good zuchini bread and muffins without a huge amount of crystalized sugar on top. Sometimes I luck out and they have day old or end of day things and they are half-price...however going late they might be out of something so that's very risky! read more

This place continues to disappoint. The ONLY reason I continue to go it because it is kitty corner to my daughter's dance studio. The coffee is just OK. Today I was shocked when the two baristas began complaining about their lack of tips right in front of costumers. Uh....pretty sure this attitude is not helping your situation. I drank my coffee at the bar by the espresso machine and after a woman costumer left they loudly mocked her. Again, I was shocked. The guy behind the register seemed OK, but the guy behind the espresso bar was a real ass. Be careful of the divas that work here! read more

Possibly the best espresso I've had to date. I found out one of the reasons today when I went in for an espresso....ristretto shots! Yes! I wanted to know the secret and now I understand why each time my shots of espresso are dreamy, sweet, plenty of crema sans bitterness....lovely. The service was great and we had our bevies within 3 minutes of ordering. Great place for home made delicious cookies, bars, biscotti and pastries. The location is chill too. read more
