When we found out, we rushed over for a Father's day meal. The atmosphere was pretty cool, interesting pictures on the walls, someone put a lot of effort, time and thought into the decorating of this establishment. All men running the joint, we told the guy who took our order(who was very nice), it was our first time here. They have been in business for 16 years(not at this location)! So lets get down to the food. My Husband ordered the two dog combo, one a Chicago dog, another a sauerkraut dog, it came with fries. He sad the dogs were amazing, they hit all the marks. The fries were ok, a little room temp(but to be fare we came there 30 minutes before closing). The soda's were really great, not two sirupy, not too carbonated, we enjoyed them. I ordered a pizza with Italian sausage added. They gave us our drinks for free, which was awesome. I didn't know what to expect with the pizza, but I was blown away by it. They should be very proud of the recipe they created. Most places over season/spice their sauces. The flavor of the tomato gets drowned out. This was absolutely not the case the sauce did not sow out the crust whatsoever it held its crisp the whole time. The sausage was wonderful. The cheese was everything you wanted on a pizza. I can say it's the best than crust pizza I think I've ever had. My husband tried it and we fought over who was going to be eating it for lunch tomorrow. It was huge. I wasn't expecting it to be that big. I will be dreaming about that pizza, and craving it. This is my go to place to get good pizza. It blows Nikki's out of the water. If you are craving some good then crust, pizza, or hotdog I suggest you go there. They also have chili fries, cheesesteaks, so much. They have one of those menus, where everything looks good, and it's hard to decide. Just try it. Warning, this pizza is 14 in(seemed bigger), and it being thin crust, and tasting so good, you might find yourself eating the whole thing. Wish we had pics to post, but we did not think of doing it, will do next time(which will probably be later this week, it was that good).

I walked past several food trucks, contemplating which to eat at, and Ditty Dog caught my attention. As I glanced over the menu, Mr. Jon Jon, the owner, yelled out that I'd be blown away by his signature dogs and specifically mentioned the veggie dog, not knowing I was plant-based. I also like that fries come with a side of special sauce for dipping. I'll always take burger sauce over ketchup. The one weird thing we ran into is when ordering on through Square, there is an option to select to eat at Shangri-La or else food is to go. Everyone in our party selected to eat at Shangri-La, but half of us got ours as to-go orders. The sliders are best fresh, so I recommend eating there. I imagine takeout or delivery would lose a lot of the delicious textures that make sliders so distinct, not to mention losing the crispiness of the crinkle cut fries. It was no problem to take them out of their to-go wrappings, but just a bit weird to have that as a separate option when ordering and then not to get it right. As for Shangri-La, it's a classic east side dive bar with a big outdoor space. There are water coolers scattered around so you don't have to buy a bottle of water if you're not drinking. Street parking is either paid or a little tricky like most spots in the area, but worth the effort. Also as a classic Simpsons fan, love the reference to Steamed Hams!
