I work at a late night restaurant downtown and have owned a food truck so I know how difficult both things can be! Once my co-workers and boss/owner discovered this place, we were hooked! Some of us are vegetarians and some are carnivores so there's great options for all of us. The owner is SO nice and the service is incredibly fast and friendly. The food is super creative, DELICIOUSLY ADDICTIVE and prices are SO reasonable, especially for such high quality! Plus they're very Covid conscious and sanitary. DittyDog over exceeded my expectations. I was just expecting to get a regular hot dog, nothing out of the ordinary, but I got so much more. The toppings and sauces were amazing and the meat in general made the dog even better. The French fries were even amazing! I usually need ketchup or some sort of dipping sauce with my French fries, but with these fries, I could eat them by themselves all day long! OMG! I had never heard of this food truck before, but it just became my favorite ATX food truck!!! I was walking down 6th checking out SXSW stuff and stumbled upon DittyDog on Trinity & 7th. The menu looked amazing, and also like nothing I had seen before. We got the beef hotdog (with all the works) + the chicken fried steak fries and they were both AMAZING!!! So much flavor, and unique to anything I had ever had before. I will definitely 100% be coming back here. Also, we ordered a bottle of water but didn't receive it at first with our food so the man gave us 2 bottles as an apology for forgetting the first-- so nice!! OMG!! I was in Austin for the weekend and walked past this cart several times, so glad I stopped my last night and so sad I hadn't stopped the day before! I am a picky eater, but decided to just get the beff ditty dog with everything on it and I have never been happier. My boyfriend took my last bite, and I was truly heart broken LOL! Went to the Stone's Throw thing at Vulcan, hadn't been this deep into Dirty on a Saturday night in at least a couple years or so. Had never seen DittyDog before and their tag line caught my attention, said something like "These Hot Dogs Will Change Your Life" and I figured well damn that's a pretty big claim, plus I had been craving a good hot dog for a while. Bottom line is my doggy was fantastic and I'd go there again in a heartbeat if I'm ever around there again. The guy making them was crazy quick, made it look like an art form, the way he squeezed those sauces and sprinkled that crunchy stuff was like nothing I've ever seen outside Ramen Tatsu-Ya. Okay so I was verrry skeptical when the owner suggested that I tried the fully loaded hotdog. I love a good hotdog but i couldn't fathom a hotdog with cream cheese?! He told me if i didn't like it I would get a new hotdog for free, so I figured why not. I literally turned my back when I took my first bite because I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy it and he'd be watching. But boy oh boy! To be honest...this dog did not change my life haha. But it did change my attitude toward "fancy" hotdogs and my opinion about any type of mayo on a dog! My S.O. and I stopped by a couple of weeks ago after a show. We ordered a beef dog and a veggie. I normally don't want a bunch of craziness on my dogs, but the owner (who was very friendly and helpful) promised me I'd like his dog with all the fixin's or he would remake it my usual way. I must admit that it was surprisingly delicious. The sauces were bomb, and the crunchy stuff added some texture that brought it all together. It was really good.
