If you love veggie dogs, this is the place! Predictably, there are a few veggie dog joints around Austin, however few of them have loaded hot dogs like this. This place has regular meat hot dogs and veggie dogs, which makes it a one stop shop for carnivore and herbivore friends. The veggie dog strongly resembles the taste of meat, which I enjoy. It's a heavy snack that's great for those drunk nights out. This is a very nice and tasty food truck. Everyone should try this place at least once. read more

DittyDog may just be an easily unnoticeable food truck in the corner of the street, but their hot dogs are amazing! I got the beef hot dog and bulgogi fries here when I came. The hot dog was so juicy and came in a warmly toasted bun with crunchy toppings and various condiments. I savored each delicious bite, filled with different textures and flavors. The bulgogi fries were good, but I probably wouldn't order them again. They were pretty salty and kind of pricy, but came in a big portion. Still, I loved this place and would definitely come again for more hot dogs! If you love YoYo's hot dogs in Houston, then you'll love this place! It's pretty affordable ($5.50 per dog) and is the perfect night food spot! read more

Austinites!!! THIS is the Hot Dog that will change your life! When they were operating in midtown Houston (under a different business name), this is the one Hot Dog place that I'd go to after a night of drinking and shenanigans. So imagine my sadness when I found out that they were shutting down and moving to Austin. After the move, I had visited Austin a couple of times and trying to find where the new operation located. I kept checking on the website to no avail. Well, until last night. I was walking down Red River and walked past the Food Trucks lot and lo and behold! I saw DittyDog food truck and when I saw inside, it was operated by those same people from Houston!! WOOOOOOO!!!!! Anyway, I spent the night inside of Barbarella across the street, and after the night was over, I walked across the street with my friend toward this DittyDog truck. I said hello to the owners and they told us that it was their first night operating in Austin (10/12/18). Yesssss! Just my luck! Ordered a couple of fully loaded dogs at the price of $5.50 per dog and went on my merry way to enjoy them. Same delicious flavor, same affordability, same friendly people operating the truck. Just different locations! Will definitely come back here the next time I'm in Austin. As for you, Austinites, visit this cart and try one or two or three of their delicious fully loaded hot dogs! And to the owners, congratulations on the new business in Austin and good luck!! read more

This little food truck near "dirty 6th" may seem like just another late night food spot for people drunkenly wandering around. But after my first time drunkenly wandering to it, I realized I'm going to have to go out of my way to eat here every time I'm downtown late. Not only are the hotdogs delicious quality, everything they put on them is AMAZING! The little crispy pieces are a great touch and the bread on the bun is so great as well, and the bulgogi fries and chili cheese dogs are to dieeee for! This isn't your typical crappy hot dog food truck, everything here is flavorful, and the menu and toppings are all well thought out. I think I've been back 3 times since I discovered it about a month ago. I definitely won't stop now! read more

All the toppings are so unique, but they work together so well, even though it seems like a lot. Trust me, you're not gonna regret it! Honorable mentions are the Bulgogi Fries and Quesadillas. This is hands-down one of the best vendors around 6th Street and is the perfect meal to eat both before and after a night out. I must say, it's definitely difficult to find any parking nearby if you're simply driving down to buy some food here, so I'd recommend being dropped off somewhere close by if possible. I got the Bulgogi Fries and two Beef Hot Dogs to share with a friend and both food items were absolutely incredible. What makes their hot dogs shine is the fixings they put on top: caramelized onions, crunchy fried onions, cream cheese, and etc. (just to name a few). The bulgogi they include with their fries are so savory and tender which makes for a perfect blend of fresh fries and mouthwatering meat. I will definitely be back for more one day! read more

DittyDog is the perfect place for a late night meal. The hotdog itself is super juicy and flavorful. Then you add on al the toppings from the sautéed and crunchy onions to the various condiments, it creates the perfect combination of tastes and textures. Either your oil needed to be changed 2 days ago, or your timer stopped working. Both came out brown and tasted of bitter overused oil. Now to the burger. I do appreciate the amount of pickle slices on this burger, but this heavy hand was also responsible for the mustard levels! I think i'll be tasting mustard for a couple days. The bun was too soft and barely held up to the task. If I do give this place another shot, it will be minus mustard for sure.

I do appreciate the option for Impossible dogs and burgers, though you'll have to order them without a bun and most toppings to keep it vegan. It seems like a neighborhood spot where the people are friendly and no one is judging if you need to start happy hour at 3pm. On that note though, it's a huge bummer that the happy hour deals got a major downgrade. Instead of all drinks being $5 flat, now it's just $3 off select cocktails and $2 off beer and wine. Since the Four Points location closed, I get it, they're clearly trying to cut back and improve margins. It's a fine deal but for the quality of cocktails, not really worth it anymore.

Somehow we just learned about this place, and I wish we would have known sooner. My Husband has…read morebeen craving a Chicago dog since the last Chicago eatery closed their doors years ago. When we found out, we rushed over for a Father's day meal. The atmosphere was pretty cool, interesting pictures on the walls, someone put a lot of effort, time and thought into the decorating of this establishment. All men running the joint, we told the guy who took our order(who was very nice), it was our first time here. They have been in business for 16 years(not at this location)! So lets get down to the food. My Husband ordered the two dog combo, one a Chicago dog, another a sauerkraut dog, it came with fries. He sad the dogs were amazing, they hit all the marks. The fries were ok, a little room temp(but to be fare we came there 30 minutes before closing). The soda's were really great, not two sirupy, not too carbonated, we enjoyed them. I ordered a pizza with Italian sausage added. They gave us our drinks for free, which was awesome. I didn't know what to expect with the pizza, but I was blown away by it. They should be very proud of the recipe they created. Most places over season/spice their sauces. The flavor of the tomato gets drowned out. This was absolutely not the case the sauce did not sow out the crust whatsoever it held its crisp the whole time. The sausage was wonderful. The cheese was everything you wanted on a pizza. I can say it's the best than crust pizza I think I've ever had. My husband tried it and we fought over who was going to be eating it for lunch tomorrow. It was huge. I wasn't expecting it to be that big. I will be dreaming about that pizza, and craving it. This is my go to place to get good pizza. It blows Nikki's out of the water. If you are craving some good then crust, pizza, or hotdog I suggest you go there. They also have chili fries, cheesesteaks, so much. They have one of those menus, where everything looks good, and it's hard to decide. Just try it. Warning, this pizza is 14 in(seemed bigger), and it being thin crust, and tasting so good, you might find yourself eating the whole thing. Wish we had pics to post, but we did not think of doing it, will do next time(which will probably be later this week, it was that good).

okay first off i just want to say, big meat in my mouth makes me very happy. but this meat was the most pleasant tasting experience i have ever had. all the sauce and all the cream makes this meat truely a exeptional experience, and every night i think about how that meat felt in my mouth. located in downtown austin, i am so very excited about their new location and i can't wait until the day i eat ditty dogs ever morning. the service was beautiful, and a big boy greeted the whole family with a free hot dog for my little sister. after finishing this long meat, it took 10 washes to clean my pants, but it was 100% worth it. please go to ditty dog asap. read more

I walked past several food trucks, contemplating which to eat at, and Ditty Dog caught my attention. As I glanced over the menu, Mr. Jon Jon, the owner, yelled out that I'd be blown away by his signature dogs and specifically mentioned the veggie dog, not knowing I was plant-based. I took that as a sign and hesitantly ordered a fully loaded veggie dog for me and bratwurst for my friend. Needless to say, it was AMAZING! My friend and I were beyond impressed by this delectable concoction. Not only that, but the owner is incredibly kind and hospitable. I definitely recommend trying this food truck out. This is one of the best vendors on 6th Street, perfect for a meal before or after a night out. Parking can be tough if you're driving just for food, so try to get dropped off nearby. I shared the Bulgogi Fries and two Beef Hot Dogs - both were incredible. The hot dogs stand out with toppings like caramelized onions, crispy fried onions, and cream cheese. You can order by the half dozen or dozen. I really like that you can also get a single chicken slider. It was a big hit with our group. We ordered through Square and the service was quick. I also like that fries come with a side of special sauce for dipping. I'll always take burger sauce over ketchup. The one weird thing we ran into is when ordering on through Square, there is an option to select to eat at Shangri-La or else food is to go. Everyone in our party selected to eat at Shangri-La, but half of us got ours as to-go orders. The sliders are best fresh, so I recommend eating there. I imagine takeout or delivery would lose a lot of the delicious textures that make sliders so distinct, not to mention losing the crispiness of the crinkle cut fries. It was no problem to take them out of their to-go wrappings, but just a bit weird to have that as a separate option when ordering and then not to get it right. As for Shangri-La, it's a classic east side dive bar with a big outdoor space. There are water coolers scattered around so you don't have to buy a bottle of water if you're not drinking. Street parking is either paid or a little tricky like most spots in the area, but worth the effort. Also as a classic Simpsons fan, love the reference to Steamed Hams!
