DittyDog may just be an easily unnoticeable food truck in the corner of the street, but their hot dogs are amazing! I got the beef hot dog and bulgogi fries here when I came. The hot dog was so juicy and came in a warmly toasted bun with crunchy toppings and various condiments. I savored each delicious bite, filled with different textures and flavors. The bulgogi fries were good, but I probably wouldn't order them again. They were pretty salty and kind of pricy, but came in a big portion. Still, I loved this place and would definitely come again for more hot dogs! If you love YoYo's hot dogs in Houston, then you'll love this place! Austinites!!! THIS is the Hot Dog that will change your life! When they were operating in midtown Houston (under a different business name), this is the one Hot Dog place that I'd go to after a night of drinking and shenanigans. So imagine my sadness when I found out that they were shutting down and moving to Austin. After the move, I had visited Austin a couple of times and trying to find where the new operation located. I kept checking on the website to no avail. Well, until last night. I was walking down Red River and walked past the Food Trucks lot and lo and behold! I saw DittyDog food truck and when I saw inside, it was operated by those same people from Houston!! WOOOOOOO!!!!! Anyway, I spent the night inside of Barbarella across the street, and after the night was over, I walked across the street with my friend toward this DittyDog truck. I said hello to the owners and they told us that it was their first night operating in Austin (10/12/18). Yesssss! Just my luck! Ordered a couple of fully loaded dogs at the price of $5.50 per dog and went on my merry way to enjoy them. Same delicious flavor, same affordability, same friendly people operating the truck. Just different locations! Will definitely come back here the next time I'm in Austin. As for you, Austinites, visit this cart and try one or two or three of their delicious fully loaded hot dogs! This little food truck near "dirty 6th" may seem like just another late night food spot for people drunkenly wandering around. But after my first time drunkenly wandering to it, I realized I'm going to have to go out of my way to eat here every time I'm downtown late. Not only are the hotdogs delicious quality, everything they put on them is AMAZING! The little crispy pieces are a great touch and the bread on the bun is so great as well, and the bulgogi fries and chili cheese dogs are to dieeee for! This isn't your typical crappy hot dog food truck, everything here is flavorful, and the menu and toppings are all well thought out. This is hands-down one of the best vendors around 6th Street and is the perfect meal to eat both before and after a night out. I must say, it's definitely difficult to find any parking nearby if you're simply driving down to buy some food here, so I'd recommend being dropped off somewhere close by if possible. I got the Bulgogi Fries and two Beef Hot Dogs to share with a friend and both food items were absolutely incredible. What makes their hot dogs shine is the fixings they put on top: caramelized onions, crunchy fried onions, cream cheese, and etc. (just to name a few). The bulgogi they include with their fries are so savory and tender which makes for a perfect blend of fresh fries and mouthwatering meat. I will definitely be back for more one day! read more

Seriously obsessed with these hotdogs! They're definitely the type of hotdog that you crave when you want something to hit the spot. All the toppings are so unique, but they work together so well, even though it seems like a lot. Trust me, you're not gonna regret it! Honorable mentions are the Bulgogi Fries and Quesadillas. I'm not even sure what I can say that hasn't been said. This is PERFECT post bar-hopping/clubbing food. It's crunchy, carby, meaty, fatty, sweet, creamy, savory - it's just this perfect blend of everything you need. I was 100% sober when I tried one and would 100% do it again. I highly recommend not getting any of the toppings removed. They've got the blend of things you need on a hot dog -down-. Hit this up next time you're on dirty 6th! read more

DittyDog is the perfect place for a late night meal. The hotdog itself is super juicy and flavorful. Then you add on al the toppings from the sautéed and crunchy onions to the various condiments, it creates the perfect combination of tastes and textures. If they put more toppings on the hotdog I would definitely give this place 5 stars, but in my opinion, 5.50 is a little too much for the small amount of toppings they give. read more

I feel like this place just slightly beats out Sonora's hot dogs for best hot dogs in Austin, and luckily they're right next to 6th street a part of Austin I frequent. Had all 3 types of their hot dogs. Veggie, beef, bratwurst. They're all amazing and they're cheap too, as they should be since this is a hot dog joint. Asian lady at the counter is so nice :). She always seems to be there when I go to eat there. read more

A super sweet lady brought our order out to us, which I loved. No waiting around trying to hear someone shout out your name. And let me tell you, every single one was damn good. You really can't go wrong here. My favorite ended up being the classic chili cheese dog, because apparently I like to keep it old school, ha. But seriously, Mr. T-Loc knows exactly what he's doing with his chili recipe! I also tried an agua fresca for the first time and now I get the hype. So refreshing and good. Next time, I've got my eye on one of those big burritos because they looked crazy good, no joke. Accessibility wise, they do have accessible parking, which is a huge plus. The seating is a mix of circular and standard picnic tables, some with shade, but not the most wheelchair-friendly setup. They do have a ramp up to the covered area and I made it work by parking at an angle at the end of a table, nothing was getting between me and those dogs. Bottom line, this is a must try spot if you're craving great food and don't skip on the fresh made agua fresca!

I walked past several food trucks, contemplating which to eat at, and Ditty Dog caught my attention. As I glanced over the menu, Mr. Jon Jon, the owner, yelled out that I'd be blown away by his signature dogs and specifically mentioned the veggie dog, not knowing I was plant-based. I took that as a sign and hesitantly ordered a fully loaded veggie dog for me and bratwurst for my friend. Needless to say, it was AMAZING! This is one of the best vendors on 6th Street, perfect for a meal before or after a night out. Parking can be tough if you're driving just for food, so try to get dropped off nearby. I also like that fries come with a side of special sauce for dipping. I'll always take burger sauce over ketchup. The one weird thing we ran into is when ordering on through Square, there is an option to select to eat at Shangri-La or else food is to go. Everyone in our party selected to eat at Shangri-La, but half of us got ours as to-go orders. The sliders are best fresh, so I recommend eating there. I imagine takeout or delivery would lose a lot of the delicious textures that make sliders so distinct, not to mention losing the crispiness of the crinkle cut fries. It was no problem to take them out of their to-go wrappings, but just a bit weird to have that as a separate option when ordering and then not to get it right. As for Shangri-La, it's a classic east side dive bar with a big outdoor space. There are water coolers scattered around so you don't have to buy a bottle of water if you're not drinking. Street parking is either paid or a little tricky like most spots in the area, but worth the effort. Also as a classic Simpsons fan, love the reference to Steamed Hams!

She let us know that it would take about 10-15 minutes as there were orders in front of ours. It wasn't a problem. We just walked around a little bit and before we knew it our food was ready so we took our bag of food and went home to eat. Initially I intended to order the Mañanera Burger but it was not available. So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside. I usually eat my onion rings with ketchup but I didn't need any. The onion rings were tasty on their own. Overall this food truck had delicious burgers and onion rings. The service was good despite the online ordering system not working. It was a very filling and tasty dinner.

So I have to review this location because the food truck at the new Austin Beerworks isn't showing…read moreup... I was not impressed by the food here... below is what I had: - bacon smash cheeseburger - what was first off putting about this was that it wasn't a smash burger at all... they just put that on the name. The patty was a normal size thick patty. Secondly it was very dry and over cooked and the cheese wasn't even melted on it. It was not good. The waffle fries were the only saving grace and had nice seasoning. - habanero wings - these were beyond breaded and fried and had no flavor of habanero. I couldn't even finish them they were so breaded. The service was nice and the lady that served us was very friendly. They have no way of notifying you of your food being ready with text or buzzer, so you have to be around to make sure it's not just sitting there. Luckily we stuck around to get it immediately. I have to say I was disappointed in this food truck and definitely cannot see myself going back at the Austin Beerworks location or go to this Hops and Grains location because of what I had.
