Delicious Chicago Dogs & Great People! Tried Midway Dogs and loved it! The Chicago-style dogs were authentic and super tasty. Bonita and James, the owners, were so friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back for more great food and conversation. Highly recommend!

Midway Dogs is worth the stop. You're getting excellent service and authentic Chicago style hot dogs and Italian beef. We're probably eating here 2-3 times a week rotating around the menu. Visiting the dog park, staying for good eats. She makes her ranch dressing from scratch, with crispy fried pickles. Fresh Chicago dog ingredients and a hot dog packed with flavor and quality. Get the Italian beef with all the fixings. TRUST ME.

First of all, this food will make you think you're in Chicago! You will be so happy with anything you order! Amazing service, lots of love, kindness, friendly vibes, and little details like extra crispy fries, and such attention to detail and quality - THANK YOU!!

I was really craving a hotdog and my google search lead me here to Midway Dogs. I have to say it's not easy to find. In the same area as spicy boys but hidden by the volleyball court(had no idea that was there) on some grovel land. It was one of 2 trucks there and I got the Chicago hotdog with some tots. Firstly the tots are amazing I would come back just for that alone! The hotdog was really good as well, my only issue is the bun itself. It's not thick or sturdy enough to hold everything so once I held it in my hands it immediately started to break apart. With a better bun this would be amazing. Nevertheless I will be back because the service was amazing and I enjoyed my meal!

I've had Midway Dogs on the "try" list for a while now. First time I visited it was bad timing on my part-the day they moved from Moontower to The Yard-and of course they were closed. I visited today though and they were fully operational. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful, and the menu has more than just Chicago hot dogs including Italian beef, Polish dogs, pizza puffs, chili dogs, and other selections. We ordered Chicago hot dogs and Italian beef. The hot dogs came with brown beach-style mustard, which is a non-starter for me-tradition dictates yellow mustard. The other requisite ingredients (dill spear, tomato slices, green relish, onions, sport peppers) were all present however. The Vienna wiener appeared to be grilled rather than boiled. The flavor overall wasn't bad but just not a Chicago dog. The Italian beef had a generous portion of roast beef lightly cooked in their flavorful au jus. The au jus is the key to this sandwich with the Italian spices permeating the juice. It came on a roll that was very close to a Turano style topped with hot giardiniera. However, sweet peppers were not available which is a bummer. They are also traditional and not hard to make-sliced green bell peppers briefly simmered in the au jus to soften them and soak up more flavor. Another annoyance here is that there were no fries. They are on the online menu but at the truck we could only order tater tots-it may be a recent change, not sure if it's permanent. You gotta have fries with dogs or Italian beef. These criticisms all may sound like nitpicks but if you're going to represent Chicago, it has to be done right. The food is tasty, but just misses the mark for me though.

Bonita is the REAL DEAL! growing up in Chicago Chicago, the most glorious thing 1 could eat, is an Italian beef sandwich, followed closely by a proper Chicago dog. Was thrilled to find a food truck in the Saint Elmo district offering authentic versions of both. The beef is a generous portion, and perfectly seasoned. The giardiniera condiment is key. The chicago dog was on point though I do miss the poppyseed bun. Super friendly Service. I can't wait to come back and try the pizza puffs.

Get the big daddy, it's the jumbo dog, HUGE! They do it up right with the celery salt, tomatoes, onions, sport peppers and pickle.

This is a crazy food grilled chicken sandwich! The chicken was generous and so juicy and flavorful, with a hefty amount of Brie and some nice greens (could have used more greens but hey it was tasty), and even some surprise chips on the side! My friends got the hamburgers and they seemed to enjoy them but I was too deep in my sandwich to notice much lol! The truck didn't seem too busy and it took maybe 10 minutes for my sandwich to come out but I wasn't paying too close attention to the clock. We also got the fried pickles which are very unique- instead of just breaded slices/spears they wrap the pickle with cheese in a wonton wrapper or something along those lines and deep fry the package. I'd say in general I prefer the standard fried pickle as I'm crazy about them, but for a fun and different take on it I enjoyed them! Couldn't try the fries a they were sold out of them (6:30 on a Sunday so not exactly prime time).

I haven't been able to eat a corndog since becoming pescatarian 10+ years ago, so having a veggie…read morecorndog was a highlight for me! I first tried the Corndog Company at Blues on the Green. I was confused when they asked if I wanted honey drizzled on it, because I have never heard of this combination before? I declined, and also because I knew I wanted to dip in ketchup. The crunchy batter on the corndog is SO good! Thank you for making a veg option. I saw them at the COTA amphitheatre for a concert and had to get one again. Nice people and great corndogs!

If you look up "Cheap Thrills" in the Oxford English Dictionary,…read more The definition is "Fried Oreos at the Corndog Company in Manchaca, Texas." Nothing else describes the concept of Cheap Thrills so well. And let me tell you, I was 100% thrilled. * * * The Corndog Company is a total gas. It is located on the grounds of the Watering Bowl, a state of the art dog park that has everything dogs or their owners could want. The Corndog Company will sell you single hot dogs chopped up into little pieces to give to your dog. I have no doubt this is 100% thrills for the dog. There is a dog grooming truck - which is more for the owners than for Fido. There is a huge yard to run around with other dogs - and there is a tiny side yard for small timid dogs who don't want to rough and tumble with the big dogs. There is a lovely bar with coffee as well, to keep the owners sufficiently lubricated and mellow, or caffeinated and perky. There is a large screen where the guys can watch their football game. The actual dog park has old growth trees and plenty of shade. The Texas landscape is easy on the eyes. * * * But to my mind, the Corndog Company food truck is the star attraction. The corndogs are everything you could possibly want a corndog to be. If there is a Pantheon of Corndogs, these corndogs go in it. The dogs themselves come in five flavors - but I honestly don't think the actual hot dog under that corn bread makes a whole lot of difference. Once it is wrapped in that corn bread, and then drizzled with honey and then covered with mustard or catsup or sweet habanero mustard, the dog itself could be whatever. Actually your corn dog will be more than drizzled with mustard or catsup or sweet habanero mustard. The holes on top of the dispensers are cut large. The dispensers will blast out your mustard or whatever like a fire hydrant. Expect to be wiping off your dog with your French fries. Also expect to be visiting your dry cleaner the next day. The corndogs are good enough however that even with an Atlantic Ocean of mustard on your corndog, that corndog will still taste incredible. The honey they put on the corndog before you start messing with the condiments is a huge component of what makes those dogs good. The cornbread itself is absolutely positively divine. The corndog itself is also absolutely filling. I am used to corndogs being somewhat of a shabby skimpy snack. These will fill you up big time, let there be no doubt on that point. * * * Dessert can be either Fried Milky Way or the Fried Oreos. I haven't tried the Fried Milky Way ... But the Fried Oreos are 1000% Decadence on a stick. The Oreos kind of melt inside turning them into a cookies and cream granular filling. The inside of your fried Oreo sort of looks like caviar Most of what you get is the cornbread coating with hot comforting chocolate and vanilla cream inside. Cornbread with hot comforting chocolate and vanilla cream inside is a good thing. Never mind the Oreo melting. I melted. I didn't want to be anywhere else on the planet. * * * I am just as happy not to own a dog. I don't have to walk it at night. I don't have to come home to feed it. I don't have to play blame games over whether the dog or the humans were responsible for passing gas. But if I am going to go to the Corndog Company, I do NOT want to have to bring my dog along. Who wants to pay attention to a dog when your eyes are closed and you are flying around the universe because you have just had legendary fried Oreos?
