Delray Cafe aka a food truck sits on the side of the Nickel City building. Fortunately, you can order from the Delray Cafe while sitting in Nickel City. Therefore, that's exactly what a did. I ordered a smash burger. The burger was smaller than a standard size burger but by far large than a slider. The smashed burger tasted like it was made by your mom or grandmother...soft and buttery with fresh ingredients. My hunger was finally quenched. The food truck cooks were fun and playful. When I was taking pictures they were doing funny poses. Their food preparation was excellent. My burger was delivered to me by a Nickel City server. I was very thankful that my Yelp friend, her boyfriend and fur baby escorted me to Nickel City and back to my car. Next time I will try the crinkle cut fries. read more

Well, until tonight, I would've given them 5 stars. Now, im never coming back. I ordered inside and waited on the patio for my order. After 30 minutes and seeing literally everyone else get their food, I went and asked. Turns out, they lost my ticket. Cool, no big deal. I told the guy my order and he apologized and said he'd make it immediately. 20 minutes later, he sticks his head out to confirm my order - which he got wrong. Then he hands me a box and I leave. I didn't even want to check it, because I knew it was wrong. And it was. No pickles, no onions I guess means throw as many f**king onions as you can on a slider. So, yeah. I'll probably drunk order a DelRib on Uber eats in the future and I'm sure they'll mess that order up too. It's like a hot chick with a Nazi tattoo on her forehead. I'm married to a true Detroiter, and he was very, very skeptical of Delray Cafe when I first told him about it. Now, we go at least once a month!! The coney's are legit y'all!! The loose burgers are all kinds of right and the sliders?! Oh man, the sliders...get 'em decked out with all the fixins and a double will do you just fine! Delray cafe is DIRTY in all the right ways, and I can't say enough about them. The tots? Amazing! Crinkle fries? Those too! Add chili and cheese and it's a marriage of all the right things. If you really know a thing about Detroit, you know about the fried bologna sandwich, and yes, they make it right, chips and all. These guys are legit, and SO friendly. The best coney dog of my life and I've been to Coney Island. Natural casing dog, steamed bun, bean-less chili, mustard. We stopped by for takeout and the system they have set up for contactless pickup isn't exactly a drive thru but you just street park and there's someone running in an out taking and handing out orders. Really enjoyed this spot!! We stopped by for a quick snack. I had a chili dog, which was delicious. The hot dog was almost crispy, and well cooked. Went to Nickel City for the advertised wing special by Del Ray. Walked up at 4:30pm and asked "Y'all ready for this?" (The Hispanic man who is heavy set with a small mustache) replied, "yes we are!". I go inside with my family and we wait for the special to start. By 5:07 we were told they were at capacity and we could not order. They ran out of numbers. Fine. Whatever. Let's go. As I walk past the trailer I joked with the guy, "Friend I thought y'all were ready!" This is the literal exchange: Him: sorry we aren't taking orders right now. Me: No, I know I was just saying that it got crazy and ... 2nd guy: Love you bye! Me: What? My brother and cousin recognize this as a dismissive thing to say to someone. My brother comes to get me. Me: what's going on? Him: sorry we don't speak English. Me: Bueno - que paso con amigo? Him: Sorry I don't know what you are saying. And the 2nd guy slams the window shut. This interaction was grossly unnecessary. Rude. Ugly. And horrible. It's just chicken wings friends. They may have oversold themselves on their ability or underestimated the demand but at the end of the day to be jerks about wings to anyone is so baffling and messed up. Larry is the man! We got chili cheese fries and a Bbq slider on a Saturday night after partying on dirty sixth. Then on Sunday we got wings. Holy moly were they good. Then on Monday we got more wings. I accidentally called Larry Leroy which I promptly apologized. Larry is the man! The food is sooo good. I wish there was a Delray Cafe in Portland Oregon where I live. I will miss the Delray Cafe. I love Austin. The people and food is great. read more

What a great find!! Here's what you do- go into Nickle City and order Delray's there along with the cheapest beers around and enjoy a classic bar! The slider is actually a burger...for $3! What?!! And a fantastic burger at that!! It'd still be in the top burger list at double the price. A Live Oak Hef was $3! And there aren't meters yet on the street...yeah, free parking! This place is a joke. They act like a food truck but are far from it. Went to the side window at 1:30 and was told that they are no longer taking orders from the side window. Umm ok. We have to order from the bar..weird. So my buddy wants to know how many wings come in an order. He goes and asks them how many wings come in a basket. One of the guy starts to answer him and the other guy in the back yells "don't answer any questions " ok so first of all that's terrible customer service.
