Everyone in our party selected to eat at Shangri-La, but half of us got ours as to-go orders. The sliders are best fresh, so I recommend eating there. I imagine takeout or delivery would lose a lot of the delicious textures that make sliders so distinct, not to mention losing the crispiness of the crinkle cut fries. It was no problem to take them out of their to-go wrappings, but just a bit weird to have that as a separate option when ordering and then not to get it right. As for Shangri-La, it's a classic east side dive bar with a big outdoor space. There are water coolers scattered around so you don't have to buy a bottle of water if you're not drinking. So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside. I was not impressed by the food here... below is what I had: - bacon smash cheeseburger - what was first off putting about this was that it wasn't a smash burger at all... they just put that on the name. The patty was a normal size thick patty. Secondly it was very dry and over cooked and the cheese wasn't even melted on it. It was not good. The waffle fries were the only saving grace and had nice seasoning. - habanero wings - these were beyond breaded and fried and had no flavor of habanero. I couldn't even finish them they were so breaded. The service was nice and the lady that served us was very friendly. They have no way of notifying you of your food being ready with text or buzzer, so you have to be around to make sure it's not just sitting there. Luckily we stuck around to get it immediately. I have to say I was disappointed in this food truck and definitely cannot see myself going back at the Austin Beerworks location or go to this Hops and Grains location because of what I had.
