Second time here and we will definitely be back. Their menu and beer changes. So it's a fun mix up, choosing what to try the next time we come. Chicken & Mac was ah-maxing. I had the pasta with beef ribs, what a flavorful dish. Today, had the ceviche, it was delish, came with plantains. What a great mix of flavors. The burger is a double patty burger that looks small but is soooo filling. I took half of it home. It came with fries and a tiny malted shake. Super good. Hubby had their version of steak and frits. He didn't speak a word throughout dinner LOL. For dessert, we had the sugar and cinnamon donuts. Brought me back to my childhood. Highly recommend this place. The food was Ok, I had a salad, I must say for 16.00 it was not anywhere worth it, I've had side salads bigger. My wife liked the $22.00 hamburger, but did say the $15.00 one at the Gafford is better. Anyway if you like overpriced food and just regular food and service, I guess this is a good place to go. Always a good time at District. Sat outside on the porch. Great service by Brie. Enjoyed a few pints of cold Guinness. I had the Sweet Tea Fried Chicken which is the best fried chicken around. Woohoo!! I'm very happy that Stuart finally has a place like this one. All you need to know: The food is outstanding! One of the characteristics of District is that they change their menu every week, because they use local, organic products. Everything on the menu is delicious and Jason (Chef/Owner) makes sure that every single dish is perfect before it leaves the kitchen. The decoration is just beautiful, you have to go and see it. Service... Every time my husband and I go there (like twice a week) all the staff welcomes us with a big and friendly smile. They are very polite and know every single dish very well, so don't hesitate to ask about the menu or drinks specials. The quality of the food is very high and yet there were a couple of drawbacks. First, the negatives: I wouldn't order steak here, since it's not a steakhouse. Although the accompaniments and such were excellent, the meat itself wasn't as tender as was hoped for based on tasting by two people at our table. The burger was beautiful and delicious but it was piled very high and was too thick to eat while avoiding making a mess of the eater. Next, the positives: our waitress was thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu items even though the menu changes with local availability of ingredients. The food had an appetizing presentation and it tasted delicious (even with the criticism mentioned above). The fries were crunchy and crispy without being hard. Whenever I want to head to Stuart for dinner, this will be at the top of my list for places to consider. read more

Stopped by with my best friend. The place was packed with a 45 minute wait. We hung out by the bar and were fortunate enough to get a seat there. Really nice place inside and out. The good was quite good and the bartenders were excellent. The staff here are very attentive and friendly. You bet we will be back soon. BTW the menu changes regularly. Keep up the great work. Went with local friends of mine and had the best time sitting at the bar watching the chefs work their magic. The staff is so fun and friendly- listen to their suggestions! Very eclectic food and drinks; to the point of being "strange" (a description used at our table more than once by all 4 people). Add to this the fact that it is pricy and we are in no rush to return. However, food quality is excellent, ambiance is good, and location is nice and convenient. Stuart needs more better quality, sophisticated restaurants, so the niche is there. Brought my chef friend to this well known chef restaurant a couple of Sunday nights ago. As you can see by the two stars we were not that impressed. Street corn very rich and delicious drinks and wine very pricey, as expected, and tasty, delivered fairly promptly. We sat outside and the rest of the area filled up however we ended up being the last original table for what reason I do not know. We wanted to try several things so we got the little chicken sandwich which was literally a bite, the street corn, and then an entrée of the burger and a new addition on the menu, crispy octopus we were very excited by the ingredients and the reputation. Ordered the burger medium rare and it was well done and there was an huge amount of french fries that we didn't even make a dent in. The malted shake on the side perfect addition complimenting the burger. The octopus looked so beautiful however the garnishes had little to no flavor and we could not even cut the octopus with a knife. It was beyond crispy !!!! informed our waitress and she offered to make us something else we said no and she seemed to have a problem with us after that. We ordered a second drink which we never received, and for some reason were the last people in that area to even get a check. We did not blame the waitress in anyway shape or form for the octopus and definitely got a hostile vibe from her once we sent it back. That is truly a shame for of all the people sitting outside that night we are real restaurant people and it was a real disappointment. The place was jammed, beautifully decorated , delightful music and for the most part lives up to its reputation. My dinner experience here was a great one. I was by myself. They didn't have any tables available so they added a seat to the bar for me. I like my spot sitting right in front of the oysters and stone crab. (See my pic). I could see into the kitchen and watch the people preparing apps in front of me. Let's start with the olive and rosemary bread. I don't even like olives and I loved this bread! Then I had the blackened shrimp and grits appetizer. YUM! My entree was Prime Teres Major. I didn't know what that was so I asked the host who was my waiter for my visit. (I was at the bar but in a spot the bartender couldn't reach me easily) he told me this was a muscle near the neck. Whatever it was it was delicious. It came on a bed of spinach with a sauce over it and french fries over the whole thing. Some may think it looked messy but it was appealing to me. My teres Major was cooked just how I ordered it and the French fries were very tasty. I also had a glass of red wine with my meal. For just myself my bill with tip was $75. I'd definitely go here again P.S. They have complementary sparkling water. read more

I may consider coming back for drinks but do not come here if you are hungry or HANGRY LOL. The food we got was good but the portions were just ridiculous. This was my first time here. I have Celiacs and was told they are very accommodating. I let our waitress know, so she talked to the chef. They offered me one item on the entree I they could make: chicken. The menu was full of fresh fish dishes, even seared tuna and burgers. No, it was chicken or nothing. I was so disappointed. When we received our meals, they got the order incorrect. My daughter is gluten free and asked for the hamburger with no bun. Nope. Got that wrong. DISTRICT TRAINWRECK !!!! I don't want to simply add another long negative rant, but the train is off the rails at the new location. We have been to the old location 70+ times, and have always weathered the inconsistency, endless staff changes, and heavy crowds for the occasional truly inspired meal. After 2 tries at the new location, we are done. Absolutely horrible service, loud cold commercial ambiance, and painfully mediocre food. Goodbye DISTRICT TRAINWRECK, I can only imagine what this place is going to be like with the 100+ mph train running by it's front door 20 times a day. read more

The restaurant is cozy and original and welcoming. They have a typical farm to table thing so the items we liked on yelp were not on their current menu. We tried the street corn and the deviled eggs to start. Deviled eggs were fine; nothing too exciting or flavorful. The corn was excellent except, it was so salty I couldn't eat it. That was very disappointing because the dish looked great. For dinner we had shrimp and grits and fish. My fish was excellent and I could have eaten the entire dish! Staff was very friendly although it was very obvious our waiter was trying to get us out the door. He asked for our dinner order before our apps came and our dessert order when our entrees came. Food was amazing. Great menu variety. Great taste. Fresh vegetables and the meat was phenomenal. Pizza was great: awesome crust, tasty sauce, chewy cheese. Service was 2.5/5 They were all pleasant and nice. One waiter didn't know their beers. Like, didn't know what a wheat or Pilsner is. The other had us waiting for-ever. One of our main dishes came out 10 min after we finished dinner and boxed. Desserts took 20 minutes!!!!!! We arrived at 545, and it's 840 now. We still haven't got dessert. But we're leaving soon. Waitress apologized for the wait. But seriously. Service was abhorrent. And it's not just wait staff. Bar tenders took 20 min for a drink. Slow kitchen. It's just slow slow slow service. But great food. And nice people. I expect we'll leave around 9. That's 3.5 hours. Sure we took our time, but we coulda been out an hour or 1.5 hours ago. Great food. Bad service. read more
