We also requested a customized margarita, and the bartender nailed it -- perfectly balanced and exactly what we had in mind. From the ambiance to the service, cocktails, and exceptional food, Sophia's delivered a truly memorable dining experience. We left impressed, happy, and already planning our return. It was much too hot to sit outside, so we enjoyed the view from an inside table. We decided to split the steamed clams (without the sausage) and a lobster bisque for lunch. Our server, Sydney, was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. The clams were served inside a bread-like pastry. My husband especially enjoyed that part, while I skipped the bread and dug right into the clams--they were fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and just as good. One unexpected bit of entertainment came from the couple seated next to us. It sounded like they were on a first date, and while I certainly wasn't trying to eavesdrop, they were talking so loudly it was impossible not to overhear! They seemed to be having a wonderful time, and it added a lighthearted touch to our lunch. Hope springs eternal! Overall, I was very happy with both our meal and the beautiful waterfront setting. I'd definitely stop here again the next time we're passing through Stuart. I would have preferred wonton chips or tortilla chips. We also had the crab fritters, these were delicious and plentiful for two people and the Burrata salad. We wanted the Brussels sprouts, but they were out so the chef prepared Bok Choi instead. Equally delicious. We ordered an infused cucumber refreshing cocktail. The service was very good. The owner stopped by our table, to ask how we liked it. He was gracious and told us his story how he bought the placed and design a menu along with the Chef. That was a plus. They also have music for dinner. Parking is street. The Tram goes around and it will leave you at this restaurant from the large parking lot. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

As we waited for our entrees (an unusually long time) our server didn't check on drinks or water. When 3 of our 4 entrees did come out, we waited for the 4th as manners would expect. Five minutes, 10 minutes, still nothing. When I finally was able to flag down our server there was some excuse about "mixed up tickets" and that a "manager would be right over." 15 more minutes, all were done with their meals as my husband still awaited his entree. No manager, no server. Completely unacceptable. As my sweet husband cut into his filet, completely over cooked and rubbery, was supposed to be medium- he dare not send it back as everyone else was done and he felt terrible. To make matters worse, my father's fish, was loaded with blood line, ruining the flavor of the meat of the snapper. The least they could do was send a manager over. $200 later- (no alcohol) we will definitely never be back and you shouldn't waste your time or money either. There are plenty of other great restaurants around that will take far better care of you and your family.

The Ambiance The ambiance is a cross between your typical Italian restaurant with wallpaper scenes of Italy and a sports bar with photos of baseball players (predominantly my team, the Yankees) and a Tom Brady wall when he was with the Buccaneers. There's high-top tables and bar seating in the bar area and a large dining area in the dining area. The Service Efficiency with a smile would be the best way to describe the service. It seemed like everyone had a job and each person filled that job to perfection. Tables were cleaned as soon as they were messed, dishes were cleared as soon as they were done, drinks were refilled immediately all with a smile and the utmost of courtesy. As a restauranteur, I must say I have never seen such efficiency and professional courtesy all in one package. The Food If you like big dishes, one's that provide enough leftovers for a week, you'll love this place. If you like fantastic Italian food, this is the place for you, if you enjoy a great dessert, you'll find one right here. For our appetizer, we shared the Calamari. It had a crispy crust and a uniquely chewy, yet tender interior. My lovely bride chose the Chicken Piccata over a bed of Angel Hair Spaghetti. The chicken was oh so tender with just the right lemon in the sauce to add a bit of zest. I chose the eggplant parm with rigatoni and sweet Italian sausage. The eggplant, although a bit thicker than I like, was covered in a crispy layer of melted mozzarella cheese. The eggplant was tender and tastefully finished with a nicely seasoned breading. The entire dish was amply topped with a robust marinara sauce. The accompanying rigatoni was a bit too thin for me but was cooked Al Dente to perfection. For dessert, we chose the tiramisu and peanut butter pie. Both were excellent with the tiramisu featuring just the right blend of coffee and cream. The peanut butter pie was oh so creamy and finished with a sprinkling of chocolate. Both were a fitting way to end a great dining experience. The bottom line The bottom line as always with my reviews is my "customer so what" ... would I come back? I'm sure you know the answer based on my above review. Although pretty expensive for an Italian restaurant... $150.00 for a party of two, the size of the dishes is big enough to provide leftovers for another two dinners, I definitely would return and if you haven't been there, it's definitely worth the trip.

I am so thankful that a fresh, new, progressive restaurant with the kind of creative menu seen in larger urban areas has finally lightened the somewhat bleak culinary landscape of Martin County! The service is impeccable, the décor is interesting and comfortable, the drinks are incredibly unique and the food is absolutely, amazingly, scrumptiously delicious! The menu changes based on what's in season, so make sure you check their website regularly to keep up on menu alterations. They give you a good size free taste of the beers and wines in order to help you decide what to order and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the drinks and the food on the menu. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and flavorful and arrived at our table quickly and beautifully plated. My entrée had ham in it, which was not listed on the menu, and since I don't eat meat, I sent it back and ordered something else. The waitress was incredibly apologetic. The owner came over and also apologized and asked me if I would like a grilled vegetable entrée (which was not on the menu) and I said that would be great if it wasn't too much trouble. It was at the table in less than 5 minutes, was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and all the vegetables tasted like they had been plucked straight from the plant and into the pan! The owner came back over a few minutes later to ask me how it was. Everyone absolutely loved their food and the desserts were incredible. Even the coffee tasted bright and fresh and the teas on the menu are very unique (Basil and Rose was fantastic!). The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and the service. I had dinner at the District on a Thursday evening. I must say the entire experience was truly exceptional. We were offered two very nice wines by the glass from what was called a Magnum. The Chablis went very well with my oyster course and was recommended paired with the shellfish by our server. We had to try the Berkshire Pork Belly Chicharones found in the snack category and they were very tasty indeed! Tonight the Chef did something with huge pieces of King Crab that had a spicy Japanese Mayonnaise on it served over avocado puree that my friend raved about alas, I didn't get any!! Entrees arrived looking picture worthy but I always forget to snap one when it looks that good ...I just dive in. We had the Sweet Tea Fried Chicken over Kumquat Waffles with Jalapeno Slaw and Grass Fed Lamb Loin that I must say the server under sold...it was fantastic! Listen if the food wasn't so good we really would've had dessert but there was no way we could eat another bite. Thank you for such a wonderful dinning experience. We will be back! My experience with District Table & Bar on a Saturday night was a fabulous one! The staff had such friendly and cheerful manners, and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. The food was absolutely superb and amazing! The presentation was so grand, it was hard for me to eat it. But however, once I tasted that first bite, I got past that feeling! The roasted strip loin was perfectly cooked, with the natural juices (no grease or oiliness) was beef that just melted in your mouth. As for the complaints on the noise, as the name suggested, it has a raw oyster BAR! Bar, mixed with holiday weekends, and a smaller cubic area than usual restaurants, make a higher noise level than usual. But, as the evening progressed, the noise level dropped to the point where we could hear the music (as we all were being lulled into a food coma). I will definitely be back often, as they change the menu to go with what is in season and fresh. I look forward to more amazing food that can rival with Emeril's restaurant in Orlando. read more

I recently visited the District Table with their beautiful patio, which was decorated with lights and southern charm. The atmosphere was really enjoyable and made for a great dining experience. The shrimp and grits were absolutely amazing - the shrimp were perfectly cooked and the grits were creamy and flavorful. But the real standout for me was the elote corn. It was so delicious and had the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. And to top it all off, we ended the meal with a slice of peanut butter pie. It was rich and creamy and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience with wonderful service. The patio was lovely and the food was top-notch. We had a fantastic meal at District Table recently. The burger was juicy and full of flavor, paired perfectly with crispy fries. The sweet tea fried chicken was a pleasant surprise, adding a unique twist to a classic dish. The deviled eggs were not only beautifully presented but also tasted amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. The only thing I'd suggest is expanding the appetizer options a bit, but that's just a small tweak. Went there for a business dinner with couple partners. The waiter was Super friendly, but was trying to push alcohol to order. We didn't drink, business discussion. Each of us ordered what they felt like to eat. Great variety of unique creations executed professionally. Pleased a vegetarian, seafood lover and organic taste. Nice job, chef! Decided to stop in for tuna stack and guacamole (that we've previously enjoyed on prior occasions). Seemed odd that on a Thursday evening at 6pm the hostess asked if we had reservations. That should have tipped us off that things were different. The bar was full and the very loud. Our server didn't know what fish was on the special for the evening. We weren't enticed, so we went with our original order. Then the disappointment set in; the tuna stack was literally have the size of the ones we've had there. The mango salsa layer wasn't salsa it was bland chopped mango. The bottom layer of guac was about an inch and the chop tuna was light pink to white (at best). Needless to say the "shareable" lasted about three bites each for two people. Regretfully, we ordered the guacamole that was also disappointing. The portion was smaller than before and lacked flavor (seasoning). A few nuggets of corn topper and no cheese (as described on the menu). That "shareable" comes with a salsa that was the coup de grâce of disappointment; it was runny and lacked any semblance of chopped vegetables. It literally tasted like spaghetti sauce and not the good type. We pulled up our Yelp review from last year and sure enough the portions are not even close in terms of size or presentation. We showed the server our pics from last year's Yelp post and she said that she's never had that order. She gave the chef our feedback. Later on she came back and said the chef acknowledged the "salsa" consistency. He offered to make a fresh batch... our plates were gone by that time and we weren't about to take that offer. The grand finale ended with the check being delivered and our server telling us "an automatic 18% service fee is added to the check"... my wife and I looked at each other with utter disgust. We wasted $47 on two awful shareables and one unsweetened tea. It's sad to see yet another restaurant go down the drain so quickly. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.
