District Saigon, a Vietnamese restaurant, was a nice surprise in Astoria. I am pleased to say this place had a great "perfect pair" lunch deal for $16. You get your choice of pho: vegan, beef, or chicken and half a sandwich of your choice. We both got the round steak pho and one traditional banh mi and one chicken banh mi. Honestly, having a half sandwich and a small bowl of pho really hit the spot and was surprisingly filling. Traditional Banh Mi: (4/5) sandwich was tasty and had the cold cuts with the pickled carrots. If they toasted the bread then I think it would make it even better. Chicken Banh Mi: (3/5) chicken had a nice lemongrass flavor but overall was just okay. The traditional one was much better. Round Steak Pho: (4/5) the broth was nice and lighter than my usual beef pho but still tasty. I like my pho with a wedge of lime, fresh basil and bean sprouts. So if they forget to give it to you, just ask for it. Although the restaurant may seem narrow but it's long and has plenty of tables in the back. The music is a little loud and club like but otherwise, I had a great experience here. So if you're in Astoria, I would highly suggest this place for their great lunch deal. Can't be beat!

The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is a nice, dim, sleek feel. The service, incredible. Very attentive wait staff. The music played is soft and smooth. Jazzy esque tunes with some Sade mixed in. Excellent vibe. Everything is so delicious. Most recent visit, I dined in for a solo lunch. I ordered two apps. The lemongrass chili oil steamed dumplings and the Fried Brussel sprouts. Both were incredible. The dumplings were steamed (you can also order fried) with Napa cabbage, chicken and herbs. The addition of the chili oil offers such elevation. Gingery, chili, crispy goodness. Highly recommend. A small app for two, a nice portion for one. The Crispy brussel sprouts are deep fried with butter, garlic and sweet chili sauce topped with peanut crunch. One bite and my salivary glands went to heaven. The sweetness compliments the sprouts beautifully. Highly highly recommend. Upon finishing the dumplings, I added the sprouts to the chili oil and again, the flavors were unbelievable. I honestly didn't want it to end. I'll be back soon! A perfect lunch and I was left feeling quite full.

Food: This noodle bowl presents a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. The round steak and Angus brisket are tender. The beef broth is the highlight--deeply savory, with a clean finish. Rice noodles provide a soft, neutral base that carries the broth well, while the garnish of cilantro, scallion, and onion adds freshness, brightness and crunch. Overall, it is a thoughtfully composed dish that delivers both comfort and refinement. Im excited to reorder come winter season.
The egg rolls didn't have enough filling in my opinion. If it had more, it would be a solid egg roll. I got the meatball pho and my friend got the bun bo hue. The bun bo hue was missing shrimp paste so we asked for that and it fixed the problem. However, my pho was pretty bland and adding shrimp paste didn't get time the flavors I wanted. I ended up leaving a lot of the broth and noodles behind. I think if they figure out how to make the flavors bolder, this would be a solid choice compared to other NYC phos.

I came here for lunch with friends on a Sunday afternoon and it was delicious. Located in Astoria, this spot offers authentic Viet food and a great ambiance. Casual, and with great service, it's the perfect spot to go to with friends. I got a bowl of their steak & brisket pho (and I added in meatballs) as well as their taro fries & chicken wings and edamame to share for appetizers. The appetizers were great snacks, and the pho really hit the spot. Portions were good and they were so generous with their meats in the pho. Great spot for Viet food and I would definitely come back to try some of their other items.
Came back here for drinks. Missed HH (5-7pm) but that's okay. Pinebender: it's a sour, but not as cloyingly sweet because of the thyme. I liked this since I was in a mood for a sweeter cocktail. Yellow jeans: this was the bartenders menu favorite, but I thought it tasted like a watered down pineapple juice drink. Lychee beer: this was a hit! If you like the German grapefruit beer, you'd like this. Lucky buddha: a solid beer, crisp and medium-bodied. Didn't really taste citrus notes or any different from a good beer.
Came here for dinner with some friends. Servers were very attentive and pleasant. I ordered the number 22 district pho, and my friends ordered the chicken pho district pho, and Fried chicken wings with taro fries. The district pho came out with the meat still slightly raw (authentic, cook rest in broth) so you know they know what theyre doing. They had a nice broth and it was served with some meatballs and bone marrow. Very worth it for $22. I highly recommend. The taro fries were also very good. Nothing was soggy or burnt, just right and a good flavor too, similar to Terra's taro chips. Overall, I would definitely back here if I'm in the area craving pho.
I dined here with friends, mainly because they have good vegetarian options (vegetarian pho!) for a friend. Great food; my boyfriend loved the shaking beef that is served on a cast iron skillet. My bun bo hue was good too but quite salty/salty taste lingering on my tongue for a while after. Apps were good but on the pricey side for the small portions, but entrees were big portions!
We were in the area and craving pho, so a quick Yelp search and a phone call to confirm that they had high chairs for toddlers brought us to District Saigon. We were seated and provided a high chair tight away. They also provided a fork, spoon, bowl and plate for the baby to use, which were the plastic (but the take out kind of cutlery); I appreciated that. The ambiance borders trendy, but still homey. I saw that they had an extensive cocktail list that I'd like to come back and try. On this though, I had the Vietnamese iced coffee, which was very good - strong and sweet (but not overly so). A had the Thai iced tea and the lychee soda; also very good. We started off with the Vietnamese crepe. It is served with lettuce, mint, basil, cucumbers and pickled carrot with a side of fish sauce, and it was delicious. It's a big appetizer, so definitely shareable. I had the round steak and angus brisket pho. There was almost too much meat in it, in the best way possible. A ordered the District Pho, which comes with brisket, meatballs and a piece of bone marrow. The broth is light, but flavorful, a little oily but not in a bad way. A said that the broth tastes cleaner than other pho spots that we've been to. All in all, a great spot for a good Viet meal. Hopefully, will be able to come back soon to try the cocktails, which sounds good from their descriptions.
Best Vietnamese I Ever Had! Laughing because it's the first time I tried Vietnamese cuisine - not sure how I missed this. The atmosphere is just gorgeous, simple and very Zen. I was comfortable immediately and the friendly staff is quite professional. My water glass never went below half-way, a dropped napkin was replaced in seconds. The food is amazing - so delicious, well-seasoned and a range of dishes all new to me. Of course, I wanted to try the pho but it was a hot summer day and didn't want soup, but they offer a wok tossed pho which was so good. The menu has interesting selections and the variety will please all palates.
Came in on a cold night earlier this week. Perfect temperature to have some warm pho. We tried the district pho, chicken wings + taro fries, vietnamese coffee as well as the chicken pho (latter 2 not pictured). The district pho was delicious. The bone marrow added an level of creaminess that was very welcoming. The taro chips were addictive! We could not stop eating them. The chicken wings were okay, crispy which I appreciated but a tad bit salty for my liking. I did not have the chicken pho or vietnamese coffee but heard positive reviews from others. The restaurant itself was cute. There is a mural on the wall and decorations. The service was great. Our server was very attentive and we had a nice time overall.
Great variety of menu options from appetizers, sides, main dishes and signature cocktails! Lychee martini is fresh and delicious as are their other refreshing cocktails. Chicken wings were crispy,?seasoned well with some sort of savory sweet, vinegary nuoc chum sauce; it is served with seasoned taro fries. Fried catfish with fresh noodles is also a delicious dish, crispy and well seasoned with fresh rice noodles, bean sprouts and other pickled vegetables. Food: I come from California, the land of endless bomb pho so I'm a bit of a pho snob. Not bad Pho for the East Coast. The soup was pretty good and noodles pretty authentic to Vietnamese Pho Noodles. The crispy egg rolls with Taro were really good was well. Service: Service was great. Water refilled whenever it was lacking. Food came quick. Food came nice, fresh, and hot. Ambiance: Small restaurant, but cool vibes. Has a little bar and stretches out to the back with more seats. Overall, very tasty for New York as it's lacking many good Pho spots. Would definitely recommend if you're craving Pho in the Astoria area. read more
Ordered for delivery and everything was so good. The banh mi, round steak & angus brisket pho, and short rib fried rice were all seasoned well and delicious. The pho broth was clean, hearty, and still very hot when it was delivered. The banh mi bread was crispy, the pickles were pickling, the meats and spread was well-balanced. The fried rice was a bit too oily for my liking but well seasoned and the beef was tender. Would definitely order again! read more

TLDR: Chic spot in Astoria with solid Vietnamese fare. District Pho and the Bobo Chicken Pho are both equally good. Will definitely hit this spot up again. Very pleasantly surprised. Wasn't sure what to think but typically I'll go to places like Thai Son, Pho Bang, etc. I really liked the interior here, didn't try any cocktails but they seem to have an extensive beverage program. Crispy spring rolls were nicely filled, very crispy shell. We tried a traditional banh mi, very good. The baguette was sliced diagonally for some pretty plating. Good crunch, flavorful meats, all around solid. District Pho. The broth was rich and beefy, not too oily and with all that flavor - still very clean tasting. Comes with a variety of meats and bone marrow too. I thoroughly enjoyed eating through this. Bobo Chicken Pho. I wanted to not go too hard on the beef so when I saw there was a chicken pho with chicken broth - I had to try it. Not quite as rich as the District but very flavorful. Lots of shredded tender chicken. I would say I equally enjoyed this and could eat this more regularly. I wish I had more space because I would have tried more. I think next time I want to try the crispy catfish, not a lot of places have this on the menu. I also may try getting the District or Bobo Chicken spicy next time! Solid Astoria spot. read more

Trekked here for a birthday lunch, and I'm not complaining! - Chicken Wings & Taro Fries: Crisp and tasty - Lemongrass-Chili Oil Dumplings: Standard, skippable if you want to try other things - Crispy Spring Rolls: Surprisingly savory and will make you want seconds - Wood & Herb Smoked Brisket Pho: This is for the smoked meat lovers. Liquid charcoal goodness - Bun Bo Hue: Well-seasoned with perfectly cooked beef The space is huge, and the service is quick and friendly. If I had the choice between schlepping 45 min to East Village for the Vo restaurants or schlepping 45 min to Astoria for this place, I'd choose District Saigon. YMMV. read more
Second time here and I will be returning again and again. Both times we've been able to walk in and be seated right away with a party of 3-4. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. Food is always 10/10. Can't ever go wrong with anything you choose from this place. read more

I've been to District Saigon a few times, starting about two years ago, both dining in and ordering delivery. I recently went back, and they did not disappoint. Their pho broth is truly amazing, and I'd say it's easily one of the top-tier broths in Queens. It's rich and flavorful, perfect for any time of day--I honestly wish I lived closer just to have it delivered for those rough mornings when a hangover cure is needed! One dish I highly recommend is the bun cha--a traditional Vietnamese dish of juicy grilled pork meatballs served with vermicelli noodles and a delicious dipping sauce. It's an amazing combination of flavors and textures. (If you've ever seen that episode with Obama and Anthony Bourdain in Vietnam, they had this dish alongside pho--it's that good!) The bahn mi here is fantastic as well. It's a real, hearty sandwich that will leave you full and satisfied. Lastly, don't miss out on their taro fries--they make for a great appetizer, crispy and perfectly seasoned. Overall, District Saigon offers consistently delicious food, and I'm always happy to come back. If you're in the Astoria area, it's a must-visit spot for authentic Vietnamese dishes. read more
Solid pick in Astoria- Was able to accommodate a large group of 10, while keeping a good ambiance. Good drinks, pho, bahn mi, and bun cha noddles. The deserts were average, nevertheless, had a good time. Also, obviously not comparing this to food Mecca of Little Saigon. read more
3.5 stars: would eat here again, but wouldn't go out of my way to get here for a meal. I was craving a banh mi and it was on the way home, so I dropped in to give it a try. The summer rolls were average, with an overly thick and sweet peanut dipping sauce. They needed spice, salt, and umami. The banh mi was a bit better: great bread, but also on the sweet side, and lacking punch and strong contrasts in flavors and textures. Based on what other diners were getting, the pho is the way to go here. It smelled fantastic and was the universal choice. Service was efficient and friendly. read more

I was soooo amazed by the food, the ambiance and the service. I am half Vietnamese and half Chinese so I grew up eating Vietnamese food and this place went above and beyond my expectations! The pork chops were so flavorful and so tender with beautiful grill marks! Also they were HUGE! The chicken lemongrass Banh mi was so flavorful as well! They do not cheap out on flavor!! We also got spring rolls but we devoured them before I could get a photo in, they were crispy and again insanely flavorful and it reminded me of childhood. Their fish sauce dip is also so sweet and tangy but with a beautiful umami flavor. The waitress we had was so sweet and always came to check up on us! I will definitely be coming back for the pho next!! read more

I knew very little about District Saigon before going and was pleasantly surprised. It's not that often that I find myself in Queens in the middle of a weekday, but there I was, and who doesn't love a midday bánh mì? The staff was great from the moment I walked in. The room is broken into two sections: the front, which has a great booth, a few two tops, and the bar, and the back, which runs down the side of the restaurant and are all along one long banquette. There is no bad seat, but I chose the front as it was lunchtime and I like a brighter room. I had already decided what I was getting before I walked it, but I decided to upgrade and order some spring rolls as they seemed great. They were delicious but a little salty for my palette. That said, I ate all three, so clearly, I got over it. The lime sparking soda, which I learned is made with fresh lime juice, was the perfect accompaniment. The bánh mì was delicious, served on just the right bread with just the right crisp exterior. I ordered the classic, so I was looking forward to the crunchy vegetables, and I was not disappointed. In speaking with my server, this is one of three restaurants in the owner's portfolio. There is another in Hudson Yards and one in Hell's Kitchen, all with different names but a similar menu. read more
I usually order food delivery from them, and I thought it was decent, so I wanted to try the place in person. It was surprisingly spacious inside and the interior decorations were nice. It felt more elevated than a typical casual Vietnamese spot. They had a Summer Specials menu for drinks and food. We tried the Corn & Prawn Chips, and it was delicious! Wish there were more chips though. The Shaken steak and eggs were good as well, but the steak was slightly too savory/salty for me after a couple bites. Would need to eat it with a bite of rice to balance it. The District Pho was decent. The broth was good, nothing amazing or special, but still a solid bowl of Pho. Came a second time and got the pork chop, was phenomenal and if I return will definitely get this dish. Typically in other Vietnamese restaurants the pork chop would be leaner, but at District Saigon the ratio of fat to lean meat made every bite perfection. Will definitely return for this. read more

So I realized I'm not the biggest fan of Pho but I still found this place to be really good so if you looove pho then you need to go here and if you've never had pho, definitely go here! They don't take reservations for parties less than 5 so did a walk in and we were seated right away by the bar area. It seemed to have been getting busier, so maybe anticipate a 5-10 minute wait on a Saturday night. I ordered the chicken pho and I actually liked the one my boyfriend got more (district pho) it seemed to have more flavor. I wish they had a spicy pho on the menu, but they did have sriracha on the side, so that helped to give it more of a kick. The staff are very friendly, Interior decor is very cute and cozy, and cocktails are delicious. Also, highly recommend getting the lemongrass chili oil fried dumplings. They were so good! read more

We came here last night ONLY for drinks but after checking out their menu we decided to get some food too. We got here a little after 9PM and were so grateful the kitchen was open until about 10. I ordered the pinebender while my best friend ordered the lychee lime. These drinks were pretty good as was the pho and short rib fried rice. I've never had Vietnamese food but the portions were rather large so it was definitely worth the $16 a dish. The rice was hot, flavorful and moist. It was so rice that we shared it and still had some left to take home. Although the food and drinks were good, we felt a little rushed and the staff kept passing by our table to pickup stuff at the other two tables. It was kind of uncomfortable but other than that I would be back to try other dishes and cocktails. See you in 2023! read more

Had their regular pho and it was great - rich beef broth with brisket and beef on the top. Their appetizers were great - taro fries in particular was on point, and spring roll was good too. I want to call out their great beer selections - lychee beer was interesting. They had a smoky brisket version of the pho, which I thought tasted okay and would go with the regular again next time. A bit on the pricy end for a pho in Queens tho IMO. read more
Came here for a casual weekend lunch today and it felt really good to have a bowl of hot soup in the freezing NY weather these days. We did not make a reservation and were seated immediately. Restaurant was fairly full by lunch time but not so crowded. Our waiters were all very nice, starting from the time we walked through the door everyone was courteous and helpful. The food was very heartwarming. I got the thai ice tea and it was delicious so I got a 2nd one. We got the taro fries and chicken wings. I've never had taro fried and they were interesting to try, tasted quite good especially with the sauce. Chicken wings were the best part of the meal, very tender and flavorful. Our pho noodles were delicious as well, the herb and smoked brisket pho was really unique, first time we've had a smoked flavor in pho. Overall would definitely recommend! read more
My visit to District Saigon was a spontaneous lunch in Astoria with moderate expectations that turned into "omg why can't this place be closer to home." My partner and I visited after our trip to the Museum of the Moving Image. We were seated promptly by the waitress. While we were at the restaurant, a baby shower was happening in the back making it louder than usual. We ordered wood & herbed smoked brisket pho, bun bo hue, taro fries, thai iced teas, and the flan. Usually I'm more of a bun bo hue fan because I love spice but the wood & herbed smoked brisket pho took my heart. The pho was so fragrant, flavorful, and smoky. The meat was plentiful and tender but the smokiness really took the pho to another level. I kept spooning my bf's pho broth throughout our meal. The taro fries are also crispy and flavorful with the spicy mayo. Something about the taro makes me feel like I'm eating a healthier version of a fry, maybe because it's not very greasy despite the fact that it's fried. Sadly the fries get too hard when they get cold but we would've definitely finished them faster if we had known. The thai iced tea, for a Vietnamese spot, is absolutely amazing. You can tell when the thai iced tea a restaurant serves you is prepackaged syrup water and the thai iced tea we had was far from that. You can taste the quality in the tea and the milk and they're a match made in heaven. The flan was the perfect finish for our meal and it was mildly sweet, creamy and delightful. The only average dish was the bun bo hue. Compared to the bun bo hue that I've had throughout the city, the bun bo hue served lacked an umami kick that is usually present in the ones I have in the city. In terms of service, our waitress was super friendly and attentive and took care of us throughout our meal. Walked in with a friend on a Saturday night. We stopped in for an early dinner and each ordered a bowl of pho along with the dumplings. 3.7/5 Lemongrass chili-oil dumplings - the lemongrass chili-oil was amazing. Dumplings were standard. 5/5 Wood and Herb Smoked Brisket Pho - it is definitely smokey. Very unique pho. I love smokiness so this made me very happy. You can taste the smoke in the brisket and that permeates the broth too. My friend also got pho and he liked his too though we don't recall which bowl of pho he got. I think its the first one on the menu. The interior of the space is nice. We sat towards the back and it was a nice place to eat and talk. The servers never rushed us. I really liked the lemongrass chili-oil and asked if it was available for purchase since they make it in-house. Our waitress said she'd ask then came back later to let me know I can purchase it. When I told her I wanted to, she told me she had already packed it for me! Great service and pretty good food. I'd come back here for the smoked brisket pho. I will say I was pretty cold here. I was warmer after eating but still cold. Didn't love where we were seated because there was a walkway behind us that I found a little distracting considering how quiet the rest of the restaurant was. We've ordered from here a bunch of times but finally got to try in-person - and i would highly recommend having it fresh! Got the meatball pho w tripe&tendon - the noodles are much better in-person and cooked perfectly. I loved the tendon addition but i could have used more tripe. We also got the vietnamese crepe - it was a little messy to eat and beware there are bean sprouts included - for those who are bean sprout weary. They also have fun cocktails and a great happy hour (until 7pm on weekdays)! read more

Place is clean , bathroom is decent Service is great no complaint . Gotta try the taro fries and spring rolls : Disappointed on summer rolls the chicken pho is good.: the bone marrow would love to have a mini spoon to scope it . Very painful to get it out . read more
Very solid spot for viet food! Its impressive how chic the indoor decor is and the staff were very friendly despite being quite busy. I got the bun bo hue which had a surprisingly generous amount of different meats with the rice noodles and the broth was flavorful but not too heavy. Would be happy to come back to try something new. read more
All of a sudden, we wanted some Vietnamese food. I wanted a good, authentic Pho. It is a nice Asian cafe with some creative paintings on the wall. We had Aaron who served us some delicious Vietnamese food. We ordered wood brisket Banh mi, pho and shrimp garlic noodles. Of all the 3, the best one was the noodle! Banh mi was quite good too. Pho wasn't the one I expected. The broth wasn't too flavorful like some Vietnamese pho I had in the past at a few places. I'd recommend the shrimp garlic for many reasons. The shrimp was big, the taste was definitely Vietnamese chili sauce style, and the noodle swam in the flavor nicely. We'll come back for it. Hubby liked his Banh mi. It's my second time here, but I didn't get to write a review the first time. The prices are a bit steep for pho, which is what I ordered. Also got the spring rolls, too, which was tasty with the sauce given. The portion size was fair, and I was happy with it. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated. It's very modernized, and it goes with the neighborhood. I'm not sure if I will be returning as it doesn't beat the pho place that I usually go to. read more
My bf and I shared a small meal at District Saigon last week. We got the summer rolls, chicken and taro fries and Obama's bun cha (vermicelli bowl). The summer rolls were good. We reallyyyy liked the taro fries! I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken. It was a little overcooked and the fish sauce was too strong for me. I wish it was slightly sweeter or had a citrus flavor. I think it's just not my taste! The vermicelli was AMAZING. So refreshing and delicious I can't wait to go back to get this. The pork patty was okay, I might get the lemongrass chicken next time but man this was good. It was really the fish sauce that elevated this dish. Not sure what they put in their sauce, but it tasted very different than other ones I've had before. Good service as well! I heard such great things about District Saigon and was so excited to try this place! I got take-out for the wood & herb smoked brisket pho, bun bo hue, glazed taro fries and traditional banh mi. Honestly I thought everything was just ok. Growing up in Houston and having eaten at some bomb Vietnamese places in SF, I think I'm spoiled and nothing will ever live up to those expectations. The smoked brisket pho was different and interesting. I could taste the smokiness and that was nice, but the broth still lacked the deep meat/pho flavor I wanted. I think everything needed more flavor. The glazed taro fries were probably my favorite. Service was superb though! Everyone was really nice and helpful, and that was me just waiting for my take-out order. It makes me want to go back to sit-in and try everything again so I can maybe like the food more and update this review. read more
