This place has so much potential, but doesn't quite fulfill that potential. For the positives, it's in a great location and has a spacious interior with two stories. The beer is also very good. However, where it falls short is the food and overall experience. The pretzels were very tough and the salad tasted store bought. However, the wings were good so that is a positive. The other downside is the overall experience. You cannot touch any of the merchandise without employee assistance, yet the employees won't deliver your food to you and you're expected to bus your own table - similar to a fast food restaurant. Yet you're asked to tip when ordering your food and the average tip percentage is 20% (which is what I tipped before knowing I'd be doing all the work). This place has so much potential with the location, good beers, and good wings. So for now, it's a great place to grab a beer but there are better places out there for everything else. What normally would be two stars from me is now three given the challenging economic environment all breweries are going through these days.
Great little place in Mt. Vernon next to the river. Close to free parking and has outdoor seating. Order at a counter and the. Get a buzzer for when your food is ready. Great selection in wing flavors and pizza. Food was ready pretty quickly so that was great. The pizza was just ok for flavor but the wings were great, so crispy. It's a great spot to stop if you are headed towards Canada or in the area for the spring Tulips.
District has the "honor" of being the second closest brewery my house, but is easier to walk to - which I often do on warm summer days! Their outdoor seating is perfect for relaxing in the sunshine along the Riverwalk, especially when there's an event or concert going on along this popular downtown MV gathering space. And when the weather turns cold, they have plenty of indoor seating, including a semi-hidden large upstairs seating area where, on more than one occasion, I've been known to plug in the ol' work laptop for an hour or two to borrow their electricity when the power's out at my place on a winter day. My fave beer here is the Jurassic Amber, though if you're looking for more of a session beer their Buzz Light Beer is a solid choice. And yes, they have pitchers so bring a friend (or two). The food here is legendary in local circles, including their amazing wings (available bone-in or boneless) with at least a dozen sauce choices. And, of course, the star of the show is their epic pizzas. Their cheese-imbibed crust is magical. Reminds me of the og Goat Mountain Pizza up in the Ham back in the day. And their toppings are innovative, too. My fave is the Godfather, but really they're all good. Grab a salad while you're at it, and be sure to sign up for their rewards club - I've scored some free salads and apps on more than one occasion!
Stopped by for a beer. Much better selection than the past. Both the dark lager and the amber were excellent. Very friendly staff. Food looked great, will have to return to try.
Location outdoor seating and interior ambience are stellar. Service is absolutely horrible. There were many people working. No one was helpful and when someone actually acknowledged you, they were very rude. It was kind of weird, like everyone who worked there was miserable. Wings were good, nice and crispy. Pizza was OK. I like that there's crispy cheese on the crust, but The actual amount of toppings was not impressive. It was just drenched in hot honey. I've been here twice now. I gave them a pass the first time because maybe our timing was off. But two times of similar experience speaks volume. Beer selection is very good.
I was in Mt Vernon wasting time until I had to go to a Dr. appointment and decided to have lunch. I had no destination in mind, so I just parked in the public parking lot then walked out of the lot to see what was available. My eyes stopped on a sign that said "pizza". I love pizza. So I started walking towards the pizza sign and noticed the name of the restaurant was District Brewing. The outside looked like it was decorated in an industrial theme, but when I entered the building there was a lot of wood everywhere. I got there very early in the lunch hour and there were only a few customers present. I walked to the counter and exchanged pleasantries with the young lady behind the counter then made my selection for lunch. I chose a small October Sky pizza and a fountain drink. I chose the October Sky pizza because it had sliced steak and jalapenos on it. There were more ingredients, but I forget what they were and I forgot to photograph the menu . I was handed a buzzer to let me know when my order was ready and I decided to tour the restaurant. District Brewing has two floors! The main floor has the ordering counter and seating area, the upper floor has a couple pinball machines, a couple claw games, and a foosball game. There is also more seating and you can look down on the main floor. My buzzer went off and I retrieved my pizza, got my drink and enjoyed my lunch. The pizza is a pan-style pizza with a thick crust that has a thin layer of cooked cheese on the bottom! First time I've experienced that! The crust is nice and chewy and the toppings are very tasty and don't slide around when you bite in to it. My pizza was cut into four pieces and I could comfortably eat only 2 of them. So I got a carry out box and took the other two slices home for later. I really enjoyed my visit to District Brewing and look forward to visiting again!
I've been to this brewery a couple times now and have enjoyed them both. The beer is great (had the Mexican Lager), pizza, and salad were delicious as well. Lots of different varieties for any taste. Love that they have several great seating options: outdoor seating, indoor downstairs, and an upstairs area for it's a few arcade games. Service was fast and good, and love the ambiance of this location. Good for friends and family, and good outdoor seating that's dog friendly.
The pizza was delicious. Crisp crust and tasted great. The beer was also great. I had a flight.
We met another couple for beers and dinner at District Brewing. Free parking can be found in the surrounding area. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs left overnight will be charged a 20% gratuity. Table service is not offered; all orders, payment and pick-ups are resolved at the counter. Outdoor seating is offered in the front of the restaurant. Wine and hard tea is available for those who do not care for beer. Daily specials are offered Monday-Thursday. During our visit, District Brewing was busy with couples, friends and families. Expect to stand in line during busy hours. I had a couple Action Hero IPA (16oz) for $6.50. My wife had a couple Jurassic Amber (16oz) for $6.50. My wife ordered bone-in (qty 9) Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings for $16.50. I ordered the Caprese Salad for $8. We shared the district (regular) size Taxi Driver Pizza for $16.50: red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, roasted red pepper, onion and garlic. Pizza names referenced box office hit motion pictures which triggered memories and sparked conversation. Staff interaction was minimal yet friendly. Overall, District Brewing is a fun pizza and brewery joint to stop into and grab a bite and beer.
Situated in a nice area. River walk is right in front of the business. But could not see a river sitting in front of the restaurant. However, it was a nice area to sit and relax. Self service. Food was good. I like the flavor and aroma of the honey garlic chicken sauce. Pizza is crunchy. Chicken wings $16 Half pizza - 4 pieces $16 Beer is great.
Came for the pizza and glad we did! Wood fired, crispy edges, square shaped, and a good amount of toppings. The pizza is a good size for an individual or you can order the larger one and it's perfect for 2. We got the Top Gun pizza (because the movie is rad) plus it's like an all meat pizza and the Mama Mia which was a white sauce pizza with prosciutto, artichoke, and mozzarella. Only downside was we wanted to substitute one of the veggies for a different veggie but they wanted to charge us which I thought was a little lame. There is a lot of seating indoors and outdoors. It's right next to the river and has some good views from the upstairs of the water. We went on trivia night on accident so it was pretty busy and loud but glad there was a good turnout. They have a small arcade my daughter was obsessed with and helped pass the time of the food coming out ( which wasn't too long) Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area
Great location for outdoor seating on a nice day, pizza is good & creative topping options, I'm not a huge crust person but loved the thick but light and crispy crust. Lots of local beer and cider options. No service really, walk up to order, pick up your own pizza and buss your own table but that was okay with us.
Amazing service and food!! It can be a bit loud inside but they do have an outdoor sitting.

So this is the second time I've been here - first for beer, second for pizza, and I feel like I've enough to write a review...because both were great. The beer I had the first time was delicious, and more complex than I was expecting. I don't remember much except that I wanted another but was told we had to get moving. Alas, I do not remember the name of it either, but I just know the beer was good. The pizza looked small (ok so my eyes are usually bigger than my stomach) but I realized the District size is perfect. We got the Casablanca and the DeLorean (with red sauce) and split them, and stuck with water because it was pre-5pm. Both pizzas were so different but so good, but it's the crust that really makes it stand out. The slightly burned, crispy cheese truly makes the pizza special. It's thicker, reminiscent of Sicilian style, but not trying to be anything but awesome pizza. Most places try to be "X style" or "Y style" and they (sadly) fall short. District is just good pizza, and I'm excited that they are in such a nice space. I think my only criticism is that they could probably have left it in the oven a minute longer, but I also love a burned bottom. Service was fine, parking was a little tight for a weekday, but overall it's not enough to make me want to skip it. It might be a liiiiiiiiiiittle spendy (those two were $35 with tax) but we sat in the sun, I took my dog, and we weren't rushed out. I will be back to try more of the libations, and definitely for that cheese crust. read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon for a lunch date after dropping the kid off at a nearby birthday party. It wasn't too busy and seating was easy to come by making it a stress free experience. I take it back, carrying food upstairs and worried I would biff it and drop the food was a teeny bit stressful, but you can sit downstairs near the food for a truly stress free experience. There is also outside seating but it was cold and windy. The brews - I am useless here since I don't drink beer. My husband got me a cider that was okay and I let him keep. I ordered the Bellingham POG cider which I liked much better. Food - We wanted a large pizza, half Goodfellas (white sauce) half Italian Job (red sauce) pizza, which could be done but you would be paying for two separate smalls ($16.50 each). Instead we just got a Large Goodfellas (large is $26.50). When we got the large pizza, it seemed to be just two smalls side by side. You essentially get a discount if you want one flavor/choice? Anyway, the white pizza was okay. Very rich and savory, each bite no doubt 500 calories, but YOLO! End of meal, you bus your own table. There was a small group next to us that didn't bus their table (large booth) and large groups came up wanting to sit there and ended up having to sit elsewhere, so please be considerate and bus your tables for others to enjoy! Would return but rarely in the area. Cool spot (oh, there's a tiny arcade upstairs)! read more
A relatively new brewery (at least over the past year or so) that has arrived in downtown Mount Vernon. The entrance faces the river walk area which makes this location fantastic. The inside is slick and clean...relatively. They may need more staff to maintain the tables after customers leave but we were waiting a very little amount of time so that was good... it was a Saturday too! There is an upstairs you can go up and enjoy your drinks and meal and get a good view of the brewing facility on the right and to the left a view of the river and walk. The beer wasn't bad. I didn't find it terribly memorable but the Jurassic Amber that I ordered was refreshing enough...it just didn't stand out to me in any way. The thing I was most impressed with was the location. I wish this brewery lots of success! read more

I decided to go find a place I have never been before and found District Brewing. I thought it was going to be something different...I was surprised. It is more of a youthful hang out pub that serves some decent pizza and appetizers. Staff is young and with that come a little attention disorders to things but nothing that causes a bad or negative experience. Good beer, and appetizer was good. I will try the pizza next time. If you are into the younger twenty something pizza and beer, it is a great spot on the river and sports on the tv. If your looking for something a little more fancy, it might not be your spot. All in all, worth a second visit to learn more. read more

Let's talk about pickle pizza. You read that right. Pickle. Pizza. It was amazing. I didn't know what to expect, but I LOVE when restaurants have something so different, and I must try it. I loved the white sauce, and the pepperoni, pickles and ranch were the perfect combo. We ordered for football/pizza Sunday and because we were visiting family in a different town, we needed a new spot to try! A 4 slice pizza will run you about $10 and an 8 slice is $17/$18. I feel like it's a tad over priced, but the slices are decently (square) sized, and because they are pan, all the edges have nice crispy cheese! We got 5 pizzas for 5 people(1 small, 4 big... pizzas, not people. All people were not of the child variety). We all ate a good amount and had almost two pizzas worth left over. We got the Tombstone, Tommy Boy, Top Gun, Blue Hawaii and The American Pickle. The blue Hawaii was the only one I felt was lacking flavor. Everything else was really good! We ordered pick up, and they weren't ready at the time we requested, so we waited about 20 minutes on a bench by the river for them to call us, which wasn't a big deal. I love the restaurant, and the theme. They are an old movie theater so the pizzas named after movies is brilliant and I couldn't love it more. We will for sure be back! read more

This pizza was crazy good! We ordered and had our pizza in the blink of an eye. The top gun was a perfect balance of meat, cheese, and crust. At first I thought it might not be enough food, but it was the ideal size to fill two of us! It was cooked to a nice golden brown. The toppings tasted nice and fresh too. I would happily go back and do this again! read more
District Brewing is one on my favorite MV pizza and brew locations. It has delicious local brews, wide selection of pizzas and delicious wings. Outdoor seating is the best as it's right next to the river walk. The only thing that would be better would be umbrellas outside to avoid direct sunlight. Service is excellent and the team works really hard for a good experience m. read more

Very cool brewery on the river front / walk area of Mt. Vernon. Dog friendly patio outside is completely unprotected so if it is a sunny day be careful. Super long beer list and the service was super friendly. The girl offerred me tasters of a few I was unsure about. Decided on a the District Juice Almighty Hazy IPA 6.9% which had a delicous refreshing taste and not too hoppy. I am not a fan of a beer that is too hoppy. I know, I know, IPAs are usually hoppy. Friendly vibes and loads of yummy food coming up at the food counter. I noticed once you get your beer it all is self serve. People were grabbing their own food orders from the counter. Having just eaten lunch elsewhere I was only having a beer here. But, the pizzas looked really good! Reminscent of a brick pizza spot I was visited once upon a time in San Francisco. Sort of wished I hadn't filled my belly with a burger earlier, lol. Next visit, pizza is happening! They also offer a few ciders, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Solid spot to stop at. Cheers and Happy Yelping. read more

The girls at the front helped me choose a flight for my husband and I. It was our first time here so we didn't know what to get. I just described what both of us like and they customized 2 flights for each of us. They were very friendly and helpful. The prices of the food were a bit higher than I'd expect especially for simple dishes like pretzels and wings. But the wings were actually pretty good. Better than I'd expect for a brewery. The beers we tried were all good. I got a few ciders and light beers and my husband got mostly IPA's. We liked all of the ones we got. They had outdoor seating so we could have our dog with us. There's plenty of space outside so even when there was other families with dogs we still had enough room to keep them separated. I would definitely come back again but just for the drinks and probably skip on the food next time. read more

Stopped in for the first time to try the pizza and beer. I had the top gun pizza and a Helles Lager. Both the beer and pizza were very good. The service was very fast and friendly. This will be one of my favorite places to stop by good food and drink. I liked that you can see right into the brewery. read more
Great find! Pretty decent pan pizza, with an amazing crunchy grilled cheese border, daughter loved it. The pizza base seemed pre-made, but it was quite decent overall. The top gun was loaded with meats, delicious. The simple cheese was very good too. Service was kind and fast. Location is cute with a sizable dining area on two floors and an adjacent space dedicated to the brewery. read more

Got the 1 pound boneless chicken wings Got the garlic parm dip, hot honey dip and the gauchujang dip. I really liked the hot honey and the the gauchujang was good too. I liked the garlic parm, but I wouldn't get it again. I got a 5oz ace mango cider from Sonoma county, ca and it was like mango juice! Overall, friendly service. Chill vibe. I liked how it was order and pay first. That way you don't have anyone waiting on you. read more

Food, beer and location is awesome! Venue is next to the River and boardwalk. No wait person...you have to get your own food/beer/water at the counter and bus your own table. Overall great visit and would eat here again if in the area. read more

It's a brewery, and the beer is good. Very good. Second, not a fan of thicker crust pizza..... That being said, I'm a convert. Holy cow the crust is incredible. The way they make it is incredible. Pepperoni tastes fresh and just the right amount of spice. Cheese is fresh tasting and plentiful. With the views of the water way and the enjoyment of eating outside I will recommend this place to everyone. read more

We visited District Brewing yesterday, and were pleasantly surprised! I must admit, we didn't try any of their beers. My two dining companions are wine enthusiasts, so they were out already. And I don't have a taste for IPAs, which seemed to dominate the menu. But they did offer pints of Founders KBS (bourbon-barrel aged stout)! Any time I see a Founders stout on the menu, that's the obvious choice. If you haven't had this coffee and chocolate flavored stout, you're missing out. We ate outside to reduce possible COVID-19 exposure. They seem to have a really solid approach to safety in this regard, except one of their male employees was walking around cleaning tables and setting up napkin dispensers with a mask pulled down below his nose. Really? Read a scientific article, please. A mask that isn't covering both the nose and mouth isn't effective. Anyway, on to the food. We had the Goodfellas pizza - white sauce, prosciutto, pepperoni, arugula, mushrooms and goat cheese. It was excellent! The crust was really good, kind of a Detroit-style deep dish pizza. Everyone enjoyed it. We also ordered the Porter Beer Cheese dip with tortilla chips. I'm not exactly certain, but I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that those tortilla chips were Tostitos Rounds. The cheese dip was good, but as an appetizer, it wasn't too impressive. But overall, the experience was a good one. I loved the beer selection; the distanced, outside dining; and the amazing pizza. We'll be back! read more

Waited 30 mins for some very dry chicken pebbles they call boneless wings. Did they air fry them?? If you go to a restaurant don't you pretty much expect the food to be deep fried? Anyway. The beer is good at least. read more

This place is in such a great setting on the Skagit River and perfect for a warm summer day! They have extensive indoor and outdoor seating but we opted for outdoor since it was so nice. Their selections of beer were great for a sour beer lover like myself, and the bartender was nice enough to let me sample all 3 of them before picking one. The pizzas are unique in that the entire crust is layered with crispy baked cheese, which tasted amazing! I do wish they provided more cheese and toppings on the pizzas themselves - the dough is thick enough (think as thick as deep dish) that it kind of took over the flavours of the pizzas. The wings were so so - we got the mango habanero but didn't find they packed enough heat for our liking and the texture wasn't crispy enough. Would definitely be back for the vibes and great beer! read more
Our first time at the District. We couldn't be happier. It's set on the river walk in old Mount Vernon with views of the Skagit River through the west facing windows. This is a place where you walk in, order, get your pager, and find a seat. Your pager goes off and you go get your grub. They have pizza aplenty. Lots to choose from. It comes rectangular with a crispy cheesy crust. Very good stuff. I'm not a beer drinker so I don't know anything other that they do their own stuff with ciders and beer. Mrs Billy D liked her guava cider. The ghost sport chicken wings were excellent. We will go again soon. read more

Loved how they moved all of their dining tables to an outdoor seating. It was an overcast day and we were lucky enough to have grabbed 1 out of the 2 tables that had covering as it started to rain midway through the meal. We had 2 appetizers- pretzels and chicken wings. Both were great! I had the Goodfellas pizza. Love their pizza crust as it had Parmesan cheese on the edges which made it a little savory. Enjoyed that crispy crunch to the breading. read more
