Been wanting to write a review for this place! Went in during Christmas time with my boyfriend and his brother. Have to say this is hands down going to be my go to spot in Mammoth- the service was great and it's a brand new place. I also loved not having to wait for a pool table. Yeah, it's probably because the location is pretty tucked away, but this place is a gem. While we were there I noticed there was equipment set up for live music, but we didn't have a chance to stay very long. Next time I am in the area though, I will definitely be coming back. They also had great beer options, I usually go for a pale ale and my boyfriend loves his stouts and mentioned how good his was. We will be back Distant Brewing and we love your logo! This was our first trip to Distant. We went on a snowy Wednesday and the place was pretty full, but we had no problem getting a table. The bartender was super helpful, steered us to beers we liked and great food. Highly recommend the chorizo nachos and bbq chicken pizza! Also easy ride on the mammoth shuttle, right by stop 7. read more

I'm not a beer drinker, my husband is... but he really enjoyed their HOPDUCTION. Food selection, while small... very flavorful. Reminded me a little of a small place in Ojai, CA called Poppa Lennon's. Outdoor area was nice, clean and all employees were very knowledgeable in beer. Great hang out spot. They don't have food just yet. I got a flight which are normally $8 but I ordered a sour which costs $1 more. Delicious beer and friendly service. They have a setup for a live band, board games and 2 pool tables. Located where the police station used to be. They kept the armory and turned it into an office. Will definitely come back when in town! read more

Best brewery on the eastern side of the Sierra IMO. Good service and good food too.

We were impressed from the time we walked in to the taste of food and the awesome taste of "forbidden milk" beer and the dynamite service. We highly recommend this place to eat as well as the great beer they make and serve here. Casual atmosphere and extremely polite staff. Prices were right on with the quality of the food served here. read more

Previously Black Doubt. Excellent beers, great people, fun times (pool tables, board games), allows dogs, and will soon have food! They have live music many nights. Great location if you need to go to the grocery store and decent parking. Definitely stop here if you are in Mammoth. read more

This was a cute place we found on 4th of July. They had great beer with a variety for all pallets. If you're not sure what you want, try the sampler. We liked the fact we could park across at the grocery store, run errands then grab a beer without moving the car all over. read more

I really love this brewery! Every time I'm in Mammoth I stop by to have some great beer, listen to live music and have a chat with the people who work there. All smiles and good vibes every time. My wife and I came here a while back on a Friday, and it was fairly busy. We had gotten a couple of beers (which were delicious) and some of their sandwiches, and as already mentioned, the beers were fantastic, but the food was sub par in our opinion. The atmosphere was great and the location was really close to where we were staying, so it was definitely worth the try, but overall our experience could have been better. The food and beer was so bad. We tasted quite a few different beers and husband and I agreed that it was probably the worst brewery we have been to. I ordered a salad that tasted and looked like one of the Costco salad bags spilled on a tray. No effort! My husband ordered a trip tip sandwich and the meat was rather tough. We ordered Nachos as well and my kids didn't like the cheese on them. read more

Cool place, simple but good food options and a little something for everyone beer wise! Super dog friendly and pretty kid friendly as well.

The location isn't very scenic, being in a strip mall. The service was ok. The Czech style pilsner was way too hoppy to call it a pilsner in my opinion. But this is a common complaint I have with craft brewers. My Euro palate just doesn't want any hoppiness in a clean lager or pilsner. Hey, let's end on a high note: the food here was off the chain! Super tasty veggie panini was enjoyed by me, and my buddy loved the grilled cheese with bacon sandwich. The panini had fresh greens and lovely mushrooms. Really excellent and unexpected. Where to begin.. So we went on a Thursday night and google told us it was "As busy as it gets". It certainly was as it was elbow to elbow inside. Pretty sure there are a variety of breweries in the area but this was the closest one and looked promising. I got a grilled cheese and tomato soup and same thing for my girlfriend, we also got a 4 pack of beer to-go. It came out to $50 which was simply too much. The grilled cheese/tomato soup was on par with Panera, not very good and would have been cheaper there. If you blindfolded me I would have guessed it was from Panera. The beers were better than the food so I have to give them a star for that. We're from San Diego so not easily wowed by an average brewery to be fair. The service was not very good. Staff seemed generally unhappy to be there and when we asked for utensils we got the response "I already gave them to you" and then didn't give us any more. We dug through one of the bags and found them but just ignoring this idea that the customer is right seems wrong to me. One thing I thought was odd was each thing we ordered came with chips and all orders were supposed to come with a side pickle. Half of us got a pickle and the other half didn't. The chips we got were all different and didn't match the food we got. They did not ask us which chips we wanted and we all got different ones. Overall factoring in the price, underwhelming food and subpar service I would not recommend this spot and won't be returning next time we visit. read more
