Came here recently for dinner. The entree was a bit lacking in balance, perhaps I ordered the wrong item without vegetables. Overall, the appetizers and drinks were good. But the main dish was underwhelming.
Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Located at downtown Sunnyvale. Very convenient. We sat at outside. The tree over us kept dropping stuff down but it wasn't too bad. I got combo kebab. All meats were tasty. Kyhar as cocktail was yum but just a little too little. Whole experience was enjoyable. Portion was huge. I shared with mom and there was plenty left.
Tasty place on Murphy Ave with outdoor seating! Place has very large portions too. Tried the kofta kebabs which were delicious. Would come back here again to try more!
I've enjoyed DishDash's casual sister eatery, Dish N Dash, many times, but finally got around to trying this spot last month! My boyfriend and I dined in on a weeknight and made a reservation. It wasn't completely full but there was still a decent sized crowd for dinner. To start we shared the chicken shawarma hummus, which was excellent and super flavorful. The free bread they give you to start was also really tasty! The entree portions were way larger than I expected and we probably could have shared one plate, but at least we got to take home leftovers! I ordered the tabsi falafel and my boyfriend got the makloubeh with chicken. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and had a variety of textures, which was great for someone like me who loves variety in a meal. I think I liked the flavor of the makloubeh just a bit more than the tabsi but both of them were great and I would eat both again. I'd also be interested in returning for some of the other dishes we didn't get to try this time. Service was friendly. We parked in a nearby lot and it was pretty busy in the evening (several cars circling for open spots).
Came here for lunch and service was good until big parties were seated next to us and we were forgotten about. Also you can't make any customizations to side orders, even for an up charge. Food was good, as usual. Plenty of seating inside and outside.
I remember coming here over 10 years ago and enjoying it so we decided to give it another shot since we were in the area. It did not disappoint! The portions were generous, the meat was absolutely cooked to perfection, and the food came out extremely quickly which was great since we were starving. Even though the restaurant was a full house, the service team was attentive. We definitely be back!
I had a great time at lunch at DishDash. My dining companion and I got similar dishes with cubed lamb -- one of them was Mansaf and the other was Zahra. The Mansaf is the bright yellow dish, and Zahra is light brown in the pictures below. Both were quite good. The Mansaf had turmeric and cardamom flavors and the lamb was very tender and juicy. The sauce soaked into the rice which had a great texture and flavor to it. We sat outside, which was very pleasant with some shade and just foot traffic on Murphy. The service was sometimes hard to find. I feel like they were very busy handling a lot of tables. Overall a nice experience as usual.
Very very solid spot. Price has definitely increased over the years, but still worth visiting. Extremely friendly staff, spacious interior, and solid food. FOOD: Babaghanouge (8/10) - My favorite cold appetizer here. Amazing flavor that goes perfectly with the bread Reyash (7/10) - Tender lamb rack but slightly salty. The sides do go well with it though. Would try again! Tikka Kebab (7/10) - Same as above, tender and cooked well but slightly salty again.
Visited for weekday dinner with a friend, absolutely delicious eats! * Location: Murphy Ave - plenty of parking lots nearby & within short walking distance of Caltrain. * Seating: Great indoor seating & outdoor seating options (plus heated lamps for chillier evenings). * Service & Staff: Fantastic service from attentive staff from check-in all the way through post-meal. * Food: Everything was genuinely outstanding. Meal started with fluffy pita bread and tasty za'atar before the Muhammara (the molasses take it to a whole other level!!). Friend tried the Shish Taouk while I ordered the Bustan Salat. Tastes were fantastic for every dish, generous portions. Great dinner experience, would definitely recommend to others, & we'll be back!
My husband and I are on the hunt for good Arab restaurants in the Bay Area since moving from Orange County. As a Palestinian American, I was excited to come across DishDash after an event nearby and decided to check it out. When we first walked in, I loved seeing the beautiful wall that highlights Palestinian culture. But once you step into the main dining space, the vibe shifts. It clearly caters more to a non-Arab audience. Not bad, just not what I was expecting based on the first impression. We ordered the combo kebab, the mezza for two, and the Za'taar with olive oil and bread. The bread was really good, and I had to pace myself to not get full off it. The Za'taar had a nice tang to it that I really liked. Both of us enjoyed the combo kebab, especially with the freekeh. The mezza was good, but the labneh was a little watery and the tabbouleh portion felt a bit small. Everything still tasted fresh. It's definitely on the pricier side, and you can tell it's aiming for more of a fine dining experience. The service was solid and we had no complaints. I just wish the cultural feel continued more consistently throughout the space because it would be nice to find a place that feels connecting to our culture!
I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, right before the place got full. Everything tasted authentic and flavorful. Kibbeh was my favorite item. That was very flavorful and came hot. But one plate only had 2, which made it an expensive item. Beriani dajaj was my favorite entree here. It was a mild dish. Mansaf was a very similar dish. That was mild as well. Freekeh (young wheat) was flavorful.
Loved all the food we got here!! First tip: do NOT fill up on the pita and zaatar dip they bring to the table (and they will keep bringing more). Order some appetizers -- the muhammara and toum are fantastic -- and make sure you use your bread allotment there. But also, you might like the pita to soak up some of the tasty sauces the main entrees come with. Everything is so delicious. The grilled meats have that wonderful grilled flaovr. The sea bass and lamb shank were incredibly tender. I loved absolutely everything we got. For five adults, we got three dips (one was hummus with lamb shawarma so that's a little heavier of an appetizer I guess) and three big entree plates, and that was about perfect. We got one of each of the carb options: seasoned potatoes (very tender and flavorful, creamy gold potatoes), rice, and freekeh (good bite/chew to it compared to the rice). Enjoyed all of it. The servers are also super nice and kept checking on us, making sure our pita basket was filled and even brought us a spicy sauce (very good!). Definitely come here with others and eat it family style because the portions are big, and it would be a shame not to try a variety of their dishes.
I have tried DishDash couple of times. They have an amazing vegetarian Mediterranean options available. If you want to try fine dining for Mediterranean restaurants i would high recommend this place. They have amazing outside setting with fast service.
The DishDash branch is on Murphy St in Sunnyvale and is a popular place for casual and business get togethers. I ordered lamb falafel with green salad and the food taste great. I especially like the meat as it is perfectly done and juicy. The service speed is average during lunch time. There is plenty of parking on the city lot nearby. Highly recommend. read more
Really loved my experience at DishDash, the food was great and even better than the food was the service. We ordered the Maza Sampler and Mansaf to share, I was worried this wouldn't be enough food for two of us, but we were absolutely stuffed and couldn't even finish the Mansaf. We somehow miraculously ended up making room for dessert and absolutely loved their baklava crumble. The Maza Sampler was the perfect way to taste a bunch of stuff from the menu. There wasn't a single thing on here that I didn't like, though the khyar b'laban and babaganoush were my favorites, and I don't even normally like babaganoush. The Mansaf was good, though it was very rich for me personally. I'm not a big lamb eater, but my boyfriend absolutely loves the dish so I was happy to give it a try. I'd personally order something different next time, but that's just a personal preference. The dish was still very good. We stopped in on a rainy weekday evening without a reservation and were told it would likely be 45 minutes. We ended up grabbing a drink across the street while we waited, and were texted that our table was ready after about a 20 minute wait. read more
We had dinner here to celebrate my dad's bday. Made reservations a few days beforehand. We ordered: Fattoush Salad: 5/5 really really fresh and tasty! Appetizer sampler: 5/5 I really enjoyed the babaghanous and hummus. The falafel had a nice crunch to it. Beef kabob: 5/5 very tender. This was a hit with the kids. Brussels sprouts were on point. Chicken kabob pretty good. Potatoes were good too. Mushroom pie: 5/5 i wasn't so sure about this one when it came out. It looks odd but it's super flavorful! Nice surprise. Lamb: 5/5 I normally don't like the taste of lamb but this one didn't taste like lamb at all. It is very similar to stewed beef. read more

I've been meaning to visit DishDash for so long! So many good recommendations and so I was very excited to try the Beriani Dajaj! It was perfect--from the creaminess, to the well cooked chicken, soft potatoes, and the nice touches of raisins! The ambiance was great for a Thursday night. I'd recommend going onto OpenTable and making a reservation, that way you can get seated quickly. Our waiter was also very attentive! Will definitely be going back! read more

We were quick to be seated as we arrived. Service was quick and attentive. We were greeted with extra complementary bread when we finished ours quickly. I ordered the Mansaf and it was very good. Savory and creamy with tender lamb. I like the ambiance and decor in the restaurant as well. read more

The food here tastes amazing, each sauce has a different flavor profile that makes the dish pop. The meats are moist and comes in a good portion. Super chill and nice vibes in outdoor seating, and there are plenty of indoor seats as well. Our server was super helpful and out of the chicken dishes she recommended us the beriani djaj, which was a 200/10 decision. This was my fav dish yall. we picked it with basmati rice and it was so good w the yogurt sauce and chicken. I kept on finding new things in the dish every bite - they have walnuts, raisins, garbanzo beans, literally so much and everything blends in well. the yogurt dip was a perfect tangy appetizer and they give it to you with 8 warm pita pieces. The tikka kebabs were medium rare and SO tender. Wished we picked rice over freekeh tho..freekeh was good and healthy kinda like quinoa but the rice was just 300/10. After coming here several times now, I must say this is a staple in the Silicon Valley for a nice meal with friends! Especially for occasions or visitors! Portions are big and the prices can range from $25 to $40 per person. Definitely get a reservation on the weekends! My group of 6 people were able to squeeze into a table just before the dinner rush at 5:30 PM. My favorite menu items are the Beriani Dajaj and Tika Kebab! Meat is always tender and balances with the veggies. Great quality of ingredients and everything is flavored perfectly. The portions are so big, I definitely recommend sharing and trying multiple dishes. Their hummus and babaganoush are also spectacular! read more
Love coming to DishDash for a nicer date night. The mains are reasonably priced, and the food is so flavorful. We want to try new dishes but always come back to the mansaf and beriani. Definitely recommend reserving ahead of time if you can - it gets packed. But service is always warm and attentive. The one time we waited a bit longer for containers, the owner came by and offered us a complementary dessert. Parking gets busy in the area, so save time to find a spot plus walk time. 4/5 Food Unlimited pita bread!! Make sure to get the maza sampler, it has six varieties of dips and all taste super yummy with the warm pita breads. Grilled kebab would highly recommend, especially the lamb (super soft and tender, chicken was a little dry). The braised chicken in Makloubeh was very dry so would not recommend. Although the food is good, I would say this place is quite expensive. Also note that portions are large enough to share Service 4.5/5 Service was good, waiter made sure to refill your pita breads when it's running low, may be a little hard to flag them down as they get quite busy. Ambiance 5/5 They have booths, tables, and outdoor dining. Located in downtown Sunnyvale so lots of people who come after work. Very nice place to just chill and talk. read more

Had dinner here with a friend on a Monday evening. The place was surprisingly busy for a weekday, but not overcrowded, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. We were seated right away, even without a reservation. The weather was beautiful out front on Historic Murphy Avenue. Service was efficient and attentive during our visit. They even remade a dish without hesitation, for my vegan partner as she forgot to make the special request when ordering. The m'shakaleh was stacked high with appetizing layers of vegetables and freekeh, immersed in a tomato base sauce (the vegan version without the yogurt). The kufta kebab plate was yummy, the savory beef and lamb combo cooked and seasoned perfectly, the spiced potatoes with a light crispy texture on the outside, the veggies and sauces rounding out the dish nicely. All in all, we enjoyed our meals and had a lovely time here. read more
We ate here on Saturday. There was jazz music event on Murphy Ave. Vibe was great. They had additional tables to sit in the middle of the street. I had combo kebab with lamb spicy potatoes on the side, my friends had mashwi with sea bass and shawarma. Food was delicious. Everyone liked the food. Service was good. Only thing I did not like was their mango juice. It was not tasting good. This place is in downtown Sunnyvale. Parking is free, sometimes it is challenging find parking close by during rush times. read more
Omg!!! Excellent + amazing!!! Last time I was here was pre-pandemic and forgot how awesome this place was. Food, service, efficiency all 10+ stars. Little details such as an under table purse hanger--to they see you waiting in line for the powder room--and then redirecting you the restroom in the other side.... The food was really good! Whatever we tried was flavorful and well cooked. However, the kenefe was disappointing. It was too salty and wasn't tasting like a dessert. The service was pretty fast too, within 10 mins our food started coming out! read more
DishDash is nestled in South Bay's urban sprawl and surrounded by corporate headquarters and tech offices, making it a prime destination for Silicon Valley entrepreneurs on their lunch break. Surprisingly, my party of 10 snagged a last minute table for lunch today. I've actually heard of DishDash (not to be confused with the nearby restaurant, Dish N Dash, which one of my coworkers navigated to -- an accident that I'm sure has not happened the first time) in passing as my friend came here during one of her South Bay visits. DishDash is pretty decent. With the plethora of vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian options, everyone's sure to find something suitable for their dietary needs. I had the Samakeh Sea Bass which was excellent. The fish was fork tender and immensely flavorful with its creamy sauce. The potatoes were a bit soggy on the bottom from soaking up the fish's moisture. I would have liked them on the side, but this may really just be a matter of personal preference as some like juicy potatoes. Overall, the food, service, and cleanliness were all up to par for a highly rated Yelp establishment. The prices are a bit high and the portions not very generous though. read more
Came on Saturday to try this spot since the reviews looked really good. We got seated outside really quickly, shady area and lots of seating both inside and outside. We got the shish kebab with spiced potatoes and the kufta kebab with rice. The meat was super soft and rice was seasoned and yummy as well. We also got the hummus to try and it was super good as well! They also give you unlimited pita bread. Very nice and attentive servers, and everything was reasonably priced. Huge plates and an appetizer for ~$80. Will definitely be back if i'm in the area! read more
Every time I come here I order the Mansaf and am never disappointed. The lamb is always perfectly cooked and the ambiance is nice. Pros - The Mansaf and Falafel balls - Portion sizes for entrees are pretty good - Their sauces are excellent, I enjoy the cilantro mint sauce the most - Ambiance is pretty good, I typically come here for dinner occasions Cons - Their cocktails are just okay The prices here are generally a bit more expensive so I would only come here for more notable occasions but luckily they have a fast casual sister restaurant Dish N Dash where they serve the most popular DishDash items at much more affordable prices so I would recommend that place as well, particularly the Cupertino location. read more

Incredible meal and service!! Came on a Friday evening and we were promptly seated outside with no wait. The complimentary pita bread with refills was delicious. Highly recommend the hummus as well. I had the shish kabob with spiced potatoes and got to try the kufta kabob with basmati rice. Both dishes were a 10/10!! Both meats were incredibly juicy and well seasoned and the rice and spiced potatoes were delicious. Even the asparagus on the plate was seasoned beautifully. I had the M'shakaleh mushroom and cauliflower over rice with yogurt sauce- well seasoned and rich tasting! My friends had the Beriani Dajaj- they've been coming here for years for that dish they like it so much. The waiters were friendly, and our food came out ridiculously quickly too. This was the best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten- mike drop! No but seriously, I took some business contacts here on a whim. It was raining so they had to move their outdoor reservations inside. They didn't know if they could make a spot for us but they were able to seat us at the bar. I was super thankful but I found myself thinking, how many reservations could they have on a Tuesday?Well I got my answer as the entire place place was filled up in 20 minutes. Despite how packed it was the service was impeccable, so courteous and helpful. The food came out promptly and was absolutely fantastic! I had the Mansaf, it was PERFECT. The meat was melt in your mouth. The basmati rice and gravy were so, so good. I loved the ambience, just so well executed. Thanks DishDash! Bravo read more

This place is nestled in Historic Murphy avenue. There's several parking spaces and garage surrounding the restaurant. We came 1hr before closing. Doesn't matter because the food and service was definitely deserve a 5star. Kelsey was our amazing server we sat outside and she always checked on us. Good food and good service with extra attention deserves a 5stars all day. Highly recommended read more

I've been eating here for years, and hands down they serve the best rack of lamb (Reyash) I've ever tasted. It's definitely on the pricier side at $55 (about $20-25 more than other menu items), but in my opinion, it's worth every penny--better than steak. You get three generous, tender chunks of lamb served over flavorful yellow rice with mouthwatering dipping sauces on the side. I recommend starting with the Khyar B' Laban--a refreshing cucumber yogurt dip that pairs perfectly with their warm bread. And don't leave without trying the baklava ice cream for dessert--it's the perfect finish. The venue is sleek and modern. If the weather's nice, definitely opt for outdoor seating. Service is always solid, and my food has consistently arrived on time. Check out my photos! I'd give this place a full 5 stars, but I'm docking half a star because the lamb portion, while delicious, feels a bit steep for the price. read more

DishDash Sunnyvale is another establishment we've been coming to for over a decade (almost two!). We first started coming here circa 2003, when I used to work in Mountain View. This was a stable for me and my posse from work. We used to all get the vegetarian platters for our lunch; all the appetizers from hummus, babaganoush, dolma, tabouleh salad, and much more were so tasty! One time, we came for dinner and discovered the beriani dajaj dish (a chicken beriani dish with a luxurious, creamy sauce); we've been in love since. From time to time, we'd get a craving, and drive 30 minutes down to Sunnyvale just to have this dish. This past week, I met up with my lunch crew from back in the day again, and we still enjoyed this spot so much. The vegetarian platter is no more, but they offer something very similar - the maza platter for two or four. The beriani daja, on the other hand, is still the same and still amazingly delicious! We also had the grilled chicken and that was quite tasty too, and something I'd get again. Pro-tip: We came on a weekday (Fri) for a late lunch (1 pm) and that was perfect. We didn't have to wait, and was able to easily find parking the lot across the street as regular lunch goers were on their way out! We'll be back! read more

The restaurant is outstanding! Old school traditional feel inside and everything was excellent. Food quality is great! Fresh and wholesome "clean" food. We got the eggplant puree dip called babaghanouge, lamb kebabs, and one of the salads. Beware: the portions are HUGE! You get your moneys worth here. Mohammed, our server, checked up on us regularly, was friendly, and is highly recommended. Thanks! I also went to Milpitas location which is newer and more modern. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. Parking is available on nearby streets, surface lots, or in parking garages nearby. Our table was ready at our reserved time. Dining was available indoors or outdoors on Murphy Ave with heaters. Staff was dressed in all black with some wearing a mask and disposable gloves. Service throughout the meal was cordial. Started off with the maza sampler with the pita bread and dip. The sampler had tons of options and was quite flavorful. The reyash lamb chops were requested medium rare and came out medium/medium-well...bummer. The dish was complemented with a side of peppers and mushrooms which were decent. This dish was even better on previous visits. The kenafeh dessert was decent. The rose water definitely helps out with the flavor for this dessert. ~$70/head after tax and gratuity for dinner. read more

Yum yum yum! One of the best places to eat in the Bay Area. I also like their faster food option called Dish n dash but this location is higher end and more consistent quality wise. Flavorful and fresh dishes, amazing cocktails, soft and pillowy pita bread....you literally cannot go wrong ordering anything off this menu. I favor the mansaf dish (tender chunks of lamb with yogurt sauce and roasted cauliflower) or something with lamb shawarma meat but it is all amazing. Great for vegetarians too because they have falafel and the best roasted veggies around. Don't miss this spot! read more

Yes. They have tables along the sidewalk which are separated by plexiglass screens, and then spaced out tables in the street. It is very pleasant.

Yes I have found some vegan items on the menu. You can also modify certain veggie dishes that have cheese. Tahini is vegan and falafel and veggie wrap is excellent.
