I had a great experience at Discovery Automotive! I woke up to find the battery in my 2017 MINI Cooper was dead. I did not want to take it the dealership given how expensive that tends to be but I needed to drive home in just a few days. After calling around, I found that Discovery services MINI/BMW and had availability that day! I was able to jump the car and get it in after some back and forth on the phone. Tracy, who helped me, was very friendly and helpful. I was able to pickup my car the same day. They are also open until 6:30 which is nice if you work. The service was pricey, but I think that is mostly because the MINI battery was so expensive. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you have a Land Rover. The shop was full of them. read more

The owners Dave and Tracey are super nice folks and they take good care our our Land Rover. They always explain in detail what the problem is and what the solution is and how much it is going to cost us. Unlike most repair shops if there is a cheaper option that yields the same result they will let us know so they can save us money. We will be customers for life! read more

Being 5 states away from home, and about to get on the road, my car wouldn't drive! I called several places in a desperate state, and Tracy said we can get you in today, just get towed here we can help! They found the issue that day, and I got my car all ready to go in less than 24 hours! A lot of places don't work on Land Rovers here, and they knew the ins and outs! Every car in the lot was a Land Rover/Range Rover. They couldn't have been nicer, made sure I was safe and ready for the long drive. If you have a Land Rover, I wouldn't take it anywhere else! read more

The only place you should take your car!! Ever!! Amazing work! I drive an hour to take my LR4 to Discovery Automotive because they are truly that good. The service is incredible and Tracy is the best! I was kept up to date on the progress of my car every step of the way. I am so thankful I found you guys! read more

It took the owner three months to respond? Really? They did have my information and they never contacted me back. I take my car to the dealership in Raleigh now, they have a response time much faster than three months and they have better answers than, " I don't know," or " I didn't answer the phone not my problem." Definitely not confidence inspiring when you are trusting your baby to strangers. read more

They did an awesome job on my son's car. It's like a new car. I've been taking my Land Rover's, BMW, and Volvo to them for years. They fix it right the first time and much more reasonably than the dealer. I highly recommend them! read more

These folks are amazing. It is so difficult to find HONEST people in the car repair industry. I feel like I hit the lottery after being referred here by my own mechanic! Their pricing is very reasonable, and Dave and Tracy treat you like you are their only concern while in their presence. They have earned a new customer in me. Shark read more

My husband was locked out his car with my 2 year old daughter across the street from this establishment. He simply walked in to see if maybe someone could assist him with getting in his car. While he was looked dead in the face by a worker no one spoke to him or even acknowledged him for 15 mins. My husband is a black man. Either this establishment had poor customer service, they are racist, or both. Simply not tolerated. Disgusted by this entire facility. This happened March 30th, 2021 between 3pm and 4pm. read more

If you live in Cary and you want to drive your BMW forever you need to be a customer at Discovery Auto. Over 10 years and 208000 miles of BMW driving and it is safe to say the BMW is a part of our family. If you own a BMW, you know that it is impossible to get tired of driving and riding in it. The car will maintain its performance and beauty for a long time. If you own one of these cars, you also know that they are complex and can wear you down with maintenance, replacement and repairs after the initial extended warranty period has expired. I am an experienced medical equipment service engineer with tools and some diagnostic BMW software and 25 years of fix it know how. I have patiently learned and successfully performed routine maintenance and many replacement and repair procedures to enable affordable extended auto ownership and to continue to enjoy the ride. I know a lot about this vehicle and still, there were times where this was not enough. The reason I do not need to purchase a new BMW is that I discovered Dave a master mechanic who performs a fine service right here in Cary and gets me out of any BMW jam that I can't resolve myself. On several occasions, he has expertly diagnosed explained and resolved complex issues for me in an amazingly short period of time at a very reasonable fee. With Dave as a resource, I feel confident in keeping our BMW as long as we want to. Discovery Auto has provided a friendly service and inspires amazing confidence. They have always made me feel like an important customer with a very important vehicle and I am sure that they will do the same for you no matter what your automotive service needs are. Great people, fantastic service, Superb prices! I went to get my brakes done on my 2015 BMW 328i MSport and was quoted $850 at another Garage because they told me that I needed to do my rotors as well. When I went to discovery they were extremely honest and told me that my Rotors were still in great shape and that I just needed the brakes to be done. Ended up saving me 60% and I was able to get great Ice Cream recommendations for the area. I would highly recommend Discovery Automotive to anyone looking for and honest and high quality Mechanic. read more

I have owned two different Land Rovers and have had nothing but Good Experiences with Discovery Automotive. David and Tracy have always offered great customer service and have been very honest and trustworthy. The only reason I stayed with the Land Rover brand was because I knew that if I ever had any service issues I could take it to Discovery and know that I could trust the service that is suggested and know that it will be done right the first time. This is unlike the service that I have received in the past from the local Land Rover dealership! Andy & Polly W. read more

I have been taking my Land Rovers to Dave and Tracy for 10 years and won't go anywhere else. This is not the least expensive or most expensive place to go in town but I know I can trust them. If you take care of your vehicles like I do and believe that keeping them properly serviced saves money in the long run then Dave is your guy. If you are just price shopping and don't care about the quality of work this may not be your cup of tea. read more

I was very satisfied with my recent visit to Discovery Automotive. I like to have an alternative to taking my Range Rover to the dealer, as it turns out the owner of Discovery Automotive, Dave is a factory trained Land Rover Master Technician who spent years working for the dealer. I own a 2000 Disco II that has been in my family since 'mile 1'. Recently, I allowed my sixteen-year-old to convince me to let her use it as her daily driver. And then, when I received a text asking if she could go 'off road' I said OK...not knowing off-road was code for mudding. In 15 minutes, the Rover was destroyed; front bumper is broken, fog lights missing, wires were torn loose, engine caked in mud, etc. This is original paint, original interior, near-new Disco that just happens to be 20 years old. But David and Tracy and the Discovery team came to the rescue. Parts located, everything fixed...perfect again. So, in the row of new Rovers, BMW's and Mercedes', there's my new/old Disco getting the same treatment as a brand new $150,000 truck. All at a surprisingly reasonable price... read more

I am always treated like family when I am here, this is the only shop I bring my cars to. Even my non European models. They work to get you in even on short notice and do extremely high quality work.
