My husband and I have always paid the same amount for our oil changes. They charged me for the full service oil change, then for the filter (supposed to be included), then they charged me for the synthetic oil they put in (supposed to be included), then $40 for a "Full Synthetic Upcharge", plus disposal, and removal of the skid plate.

Extremely frustrating experience -- I would not recommend this location…read more I initially showed up for a state inspection and was told it would be about a 45-minute wait. That was fine, I was willing to wait. What I found ridiculous, however, was being told they don't allow drop-offs, despite the fact that I work within walking distance of the shop. Another thing that really bothered me was the inspector giving "constructive criticism", if you can call it that, to another younger coworker while in front of clients. That is just not professional. Next, when they finally got to my car for inspection, apparently while pulling my car forward, the brakes made a light squeaking noise. I was then pulled aside and told that this was an automatic inspection failure as it meant they were low. The inspector then tried to upsell me on brakes and when I questioned if they were actually low or if it was dirt, the inspector informed me that she was not obligated to actually inspect the brakes underneath the car to determine whether they were worn, low, or simply making noise from dirt/debris on the rotor. After waiting around 30 minutes, I was essentially being told I needed brakes based on the fact that they squeaked once. I drove the car around the lot afterward and couldn't get them to squeak again. At that point, it felt less like a legitimate inspection and more like an attempt to sell me a brake job. I wasn't willing to pay for something based on that kind of diagnosis, so I left. There was also a separate issue involving my wife. She called ahead and was told that they could take her in and the inspector would be there, she said 30 minutes but arrived roughly 15 minutes later, only to be told that "the inspector had already left". So apparently the information given over the phone isn't particularly reliable either. Overall, this was a frustrating and unprofessional experience from start to finish. Between the inconsistent communication, the treatment of customers, and the way the inspection was handled, I wouldn't trust this location with my vehicle. They don't make a repair which is unnecessary. They don't try to scare you into agreeing to have expensive, unneeded repairs figuring that the anxiety of not having them done would encourage you to OK them. They don't continually try to up sell you on unneeded services as many dealership service departments do. They even verified that new tires that our tire dealer said that we needed were not needed now because the current tires were fine wrt tread wear and other features. More anxiety relief. They also do top-quality repairs. We have taken our two vehicles there for the past three years, one of which is almost 30 years old. Some repairs appeared to us that they may be undoable but they have solved every problem. They only use manufacturer replacement parts which may cost a little more or delay a repair but are likely to last much longer than using cheap generic parts but then charging the manufacture prices. Their labor charges are entirely reasonable. The manager, Will, is incredibly knowledgeable and capable of running a three-ring circus if needed. Because of their outstanding service, it is typical to have to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment.

When I started looking for my previous receipt so I could tell him exactly what service I'd had, he simply walked away and never came back. After waiting, I decided to back out and leave. Instead, I drove about seven miles to another Jiffy Lube location, where the experience was completely different. I was greeted before I even had my vehicle in park, and the staff there was friendly, professional, and happy to help. Unfortunately, the Walnut Street location doesn't provide that same level of customer service. Based on my experience, the staff came across as unfriendly and uninterested in helping customers. This will be my last visit to that location. I still think Jiffy Lube is a good franchise overall, which makes this experience even more disappointing. It's unfortunate when a few employees leave such a negative impression on an otherwise solid brand.

The mechanic said they didn't even put that on the courtesy inspection because all of the focus was on the headlight. So who's telling the truth here? I just said the timing is fishy and left because they had a look on their face not knowing why I would be upset. To sum it up, I didn't have check engine light. 3 hrs later after I picked up my car from this place, check engine light came on. It could be coincidence but extremely suspicious. Only thing they put on the urgent list was tire tread, nothing about engine misfire. I chose this place due to good reviews but it was a mistake as I'm just going to take my car to dealership.
