Later that evening, they called with a repair estimate of $2,156 to replace the radiator fan, thermostat, and tires, plus $309 just to refill the antifreeze. When I called to ask about alternatives, they only reduced the price by $20. That felt excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up going to NC Complete Auto Care, where the radiator fan was replaced for $881. They didn't charge for refilling the antifreeze and said the thermostat wasn't an issue and did not need to be replaced. They also let me know I could safely wait on the tires for a couple more months. I appreciated the transparency and will be taking my business there from now on. I can't recommend Cary Car Care based on my experience.

A little odd that accountability couldn't be taken by the arrogant manager, who offered a 'free alignment check' for an issue they caused. Once that was done, the car is still unfixed, damage caused by DiscountTire, with management having dishonest practices and inability to take accountability. The car is now dangerous to drive as one nudge off center at speeds above 50 will skid back tires. Though they will try to milk out as much money from you as possible, so go here if you want that.

Very friendly, family operation that is a full service mechanic shop. Prices were reasonable and they took me out to the car and pointed out a couple of things. He brought my daughter to her car and showed her a couple areas of concern That will need to be addressed in the future but not critical at this point. She is a grad student at NCSU and needs to develop a relationship with an honest and reputable service center. From what she told me, it looks like she's found it. And a new tire will be $500 or more. It's company policy. Ok, no problem I think. I'll take it elsewhere. I ask them to put air in it, and I'll think about it. They said well you can't take it home, we took the screw out, so your tire is flat. What? If you knew they were foam filled by what's on the side wall of the tire, and you knew you don't fix them, why did you take the screw out? Oh! To force me to buy a new tire from you! Well I'm not gonna fall for that. I decided to wait for 1.5 hours for a tow truck to tow it to my trusted tire place, who fixed it...for free. Won't be going there again any time soon.
