It's been an absolutely horrible week. Everything that could go wrong has, from personal stuff piling up to car troubles hitting at the worst possible time. I was already stressed when my seized wheel locks (rusted on tight from years of Texas weather) became impossible to remove myself. I first tried the dealership, and they quoted me a ridiculous $450 just to attempt it, plus warnings about time, potential damage, and no real guarantees. That quote alone made my week feel even worse. Desperate for a better option, I headed to Discount Tire on Camp Bowie Blvd, and Peter completely turned things around. He quickly assessed the seized locks, then removed all of them safely and efficiently, and in way less time than I expected. His skill made what felt like a nightmare job look straightforward, More than the technical fix, Peter's attitude was a genuine lifeline during my rough week: patient, honest, professional, and truly customer-focused. In a busy shop, he made me feel prioritized and valued, exactly the kind of service that restores faith when everything else is going sideways. Discount Tire is fortunate to have Peter. Let's get you taken care of is their slogan. Had made an appt for 12:00. 2nd in line. waited 10 min in line. 4 behind me. no staff acknowledge any of us in line. Finally saw someone. I came for a prebooked simple tire rotation. And even with an appt I was told it would be an hour because "several were in front of me". It's now 30 min past my appt time and still sits my car untouched with no update from the technician. Why then make an appt. I have gone to this store for years. Amazing experience at this Discount Tire. Edgar helped check my tread and then helped me compare various tires for my car on his computer. Drew helped me order my tires and setup my appointment to come get them installed and balanced. The customer service here is excellent. I was originally going to purchase my tires at Costco next door since their prices were lower, they have free installation, and I get an additional 2% cash back with my executive membership. However, the guys here are so friendly, took their time explaining various pros and cons of each specific tire that we looked at, and helpful that I turned all the benefits I listed above at Costco. I ended up purchasing an even more expensive tire for my vehicle that Costco didn't carry but Discount Tire did, pay for the installation, and lost out on the extra 2% cash back. Yes the guys here are that convincing and I'm happy paying more for the tires and service I received. Discount Tire does price match competitors if there's a tire you want that are cheaper. Overall I would highly recommend this Discount Tire location. It's close to my office so it was conveniently located this time, but I wouldn't mind driving across town from my home to come here either. The only downside is that they don't do alignments at this location, but not many Discount Tires do and Drew gave me the locations that did. read more

I have an old car I love(2000 buick) my spare which was original had fallen apart. I didn't want to drive around without a spare so called 5 tire places and one dealership. All except one told me they don't make those any more you won't be able to find one. The one store told me there is one in Florida he could have shipped here the next week. I really wanted it before then, so I called one more-this store, guy put me on hold and said there is one in Wyle I can have it here in less than 2 hours I'll call you. Sure enough I hot a call drove right over there and in a short time they replaced my spare. Everyone was very pleasant the whole time and answered all my questions. Ive been through shops many times, I rebuilt my entire Mercedes engine (m271.96) and suspension on my daily, Im not a mechanic but I do know whats going on, Ive been to this discount tire several times in the past and usually they have been great, always. Recently after the interior was changed I am guessing the internals were aswell. I have brought many different vehicles Jeeps, Mercedes, VW, never an issue. They never answer the phone. They find a way to make you buy a tire even if you do not need that. They really do not know their stuff other than selling you a new set of tires. They tell you the car will be done in 1 hour but takes 5 hours. They have an attitude if ask them a question or if you tell them you need to be somewhere else soon or so. Basically you need to plan to spend the weekend at their place. They truly need a new management and better staff. read more

Years ago, I took a flat tire to Discount Tire and they patched it for me for free, even though they hadn't sold me the tire. They just wanted me to come back again. Hopefully, I guess, to buy new tires when the need arises. That is an effective marketing strategy, because we've been coming back again and again for many years. I don't know if they will still patch someone else's tire, but their service is still the best that I've seen. The tires that I've bought come with lifetime maintenance, when they do the installation (can't imagine not having them do the installation). They do free rotations, to help extend the life of the tires. They check the balance for free, too, which helps to eliminate vibration in the steering wheel or bounce in the rear end. And, yes, they fix the flats for free (if it's possible to fix it safely). They have even added a drive through lane just for checking tire pressure (it's recommended that you do this once a month). Anyway, I noticed that one of our tires was low yesterday, so I added air to it and drove to my local Discount Tire shop. I didn't even change the tire, since I knew that it would hold up for the short trip with a slow leak. At the drive-up check-in, I was asked to park and one of the guys would be working on it soon. Masks and gloves were in use (nice to see). It was a beautiful afternoon, so we waited outside. Very comfortable chairs were spaced around the front and side of the building, but our turn came up soon and I like to watch the show. Nicolas drove the car into one of the bays and onto a lift. He removed the tire and removed it from the wheel. He found the nail that was causing the leak and it out. Then, he applied a patch and showed us the completed repair. It looked good to us, so, he re-mounted the tire and balanced it. Everything was looking good, but a dark cloud quickly formed. Vincent was called in, because there was a problem with one of the lug nuts. It didn't want to turn onto the stud easily because the threads on the stud were damaged. They could have just forced the lug nut on and hope that I could get it to come off, if I needed to change the tire later. But, that wouldn't have been the right thing to do. It was possible that the lug nut had been screwed on a dirty stud and the contaminates had fused the nut to the stud. Well, Discount Tire had been the last to work on the tires, when they did a rotation, a few weeks ago. At least, the nut hadn't been cross threaded on the stud. Because of the design of the studs, cross threading would have been difficult to do and the damage would have been much worse. It didn't matter who caused the problem, because Vincent was going to make it right or send me to a garage and have the stud replaced at his expense. He used a split die and lots of lubricant on the stud to clean, repair and condition the threads. The "split" in the die allows it to be placed deep on the stud and then turned counterclockwise, repairing the threads as it's removed. I admit that I would have been more comfortable if Vincent had run the die with a hand tool, but I think he did okay with a power tool and the repair was completed quickly. He used a new lug nut on the stud and it worked fine, and then he put the wheel on with a whole new set of lug nuts. Nicholas torqued down the lug nuts and gave me my receipt. No charge! After 27 yrs it was another time to replace the tires on the jetski trailer so we looked at all the outdoor stores, Bass Pro, Cabela's, Scheels and decided to try Discount Tire. The staff was super courteous and professional, they didn't try to upsell and they kept in communication along the way. Dustin was our sales advisor. Went here with low tire pressure as I had trusted Discount Tire wholeheartedly in the past. I was told I had a cracked wheel and it would be roughly $1000. My husband luckily had wheel insurance at the car dealership so I left Discount Tire and went directly to the dealership . All the tire needed was air!!! No cracked wheel. I told a group of friends the story and one finished my sentence stating she was told she had a cracked wheel and asked to pay &1000 as well- when they took the car down the road turns out it also did not have a cracked wheel and just needed air. Great experience here. I brought our minivan in after getting a low tire pressure warning three different times. I made an appointment for later that day because they said they would be able to fix my tire within 1 hour with an appointment. I brought my car in and the tech, who was extremely polite and professional, immediately spotted a screw in my tire. He said the tire would be repairable vs needing to be replaced. I waited in their waiting room for about 30 minutes and the repair was finished, no charge. They still have ample outdoor seating- comfortable chairs and shade, for customers that prefer to wait outdoors. We had a flat and he helped us decide if we needed a new tire or not. Because our tread was pretty low and our tires were old we opted to buy four new tires -- he was not pushy at all. We wanted to go with Michelin, however after we left he called us and let us know that apparently they didn't have those in stock. I recently had a sudden blow out on BOTH my tire and spare. I just happen to be near Discount Tire when my spare blew, so I slowly rolled my car in, in hopes that they would have the tire I need and get my car done as quick as possible. Discount tire was always my favorite place for tire repairing and replacement, but not anymore after 3 bad experiences with them. First, I took my new car with white seat for tire repairing, The tech guy made my seat all dirty with black oil and dirt. Not to mention the tire was repaired right. So I had to visit them again and told they did wrong and need to replace the tire. Finally it was done but didn't give back my key card. I had to pay 35 dollars to replace it. Today I visited them again for tire air pressure, and the wait line was a mess. Several cars were trying to cut the line but no one was really trying to stop it. I decided to leave after 15 minutes waiting and see no one is trying to help. Not recommend! read more
