Came here on a Sunday afternoon as I took on a flat tire while in the area. The second I pulled up, a mechanic was there to help me and easily recognized the problem. After that, it was pretty clear sailing. The mechanic had me talk to the manager inside and they were able to have my tire damage addressed. They gave me an accurate diagnosis of my tire situation and had my tire repaired in no time. By far the part about my experience I was most impressed with! I came here on a Sunday just grateful they were open as all other shops were closed for the day, and they not only repaired my tire, but did it within the afternoon in no time! We called on new years due to a tire needed a plug. We called the number for the location and spoke to a person asking if they were open. The guy says yes so we drove there. Once we got there it looked closed and all of the lights were off. We called them again and the guy said they are open and we explained the building is closed and that's when they had the bright idea to say " oh that location is already closed, only customer service calls are open." I arrived at 6:35. Told whoever waas running service that I was there for my 7pm tire install. Mind you, I made an appt on their website. They listed the times, I picked one. I was then told there was no way they could get that done. I just came into late. I let them know that I made the appt on their website, but I was refused as they just didn't have enough staff. First, clerk had trouble remembering the year of my car, then had difficulty locating the application from the in-lube manual. We finally collected the items I wanted and went to check out only to learn that gosh...these items weren't eligible for a discount. Les di las llaves del carro pq me dijeron q harían el servicio y después de 40 min con el carro me llaman y me dicen q la llanta no tenía nada, les trato de explicar q yo vi que estaba ponchada y hasta se los escribí pq quizás no me entendían bien ya el no hablo tan bien el inglés, la respuesta fue "racista" diciéndome q no era su problema que no hablara bien el inglés y q no era su problema ni el idioma ni la llanta ni el carro y entre ellos se les escuchó claramente el "y ni vengas mas por acá ". Estoy seguro q todo esto quedó registrado en la cámara del lugar por si alguien de la gerencia tiene alguna duda. Was surprised they could check my vehicle without any wait and soon found out why....no one in their right mind goes there anymore.Went in knowing what was broken but they still wanted a $100 diagnostic fee...then they wanted $550 for a job I'd been quoted $200 elsewhere. So, I'm driving down 75 in Allen and my tire blows out. Put my spare on in the rain while on crutches (my leg is broken). I make it to Plano and my spare blows too. I limped the car on the blown tire to this Pep Boys( about 4 miles). Yelp says they are open till 9:00. When I arrived (approximately 8:20pm) I was told that they were closed and they couldn't help me, despite the fact that there was a manager, and an employee still there. I explained that Yelp said they were open until 9. They obviously saw my leg cast and crutches, and not only would they not sell me a tire, they wouldn't even let me use the restroom (it's a very busy intersection to navigate on crutches, especially in the rain. Had my new tires put on here. Had a nine am appointment that they claimed was not in their system ( also the guy that came in at the same time had confirmation but not in system) . Could watch the kid put on my tires. Took 40 minues to get the first tire off. 2 1/2 hrs later my tires are on. Lord help. I would not take my toy car here. What a joke. Lazy slow moving workers. My tires were never rotated and I know this by certain marks on my tires. All four were still in the same spot but on the receipt they said they rotated them. My Lexus had a cracked oil pan and crankshaft seal I paid for them fix the seals and do a full oil change. My car is a bit on the lower end and is sitting low to the ground. I asked before anything if they could do it. And they told me it wouldn't be a problem. Proceeds to tell me I need to buy some ramps or wood before they can touch my car they finally manage to use there head thank you ethan, Ethan figured out how to get my car on the ramps and managed to complete the first half of the job. He ended up not being their the following day and was left to some other people who didn't fix the problem fully and the car still had an oil leak and was never done with the oil change or new oil filter paid 700 bucks for literally shit I could've done at home read more

Everything was great! I was welcomed in, but without a smile, and the man asked what I needed. Inspected my car in about a minute and said they can do the job. I had a little extra favor... I have been pumping my own tire for a few months. I asked if they'd check what the problem is and they agreed. I sat down and watched some good TMZ with a good that was complimentary. During this time I was told I should also think about a new air filter, thy offered the service, but I declined and they didn't pull my leg on not having it replaced. Do not go here. Stopped in with a noise seemingly from my brakes. With no one waiting I was told that they were too busy, and I had to leave my car with them. I explained that I live an hour away, and he yielded. After about 45 min in the waiting room he came in and without explanation told me it would be $4,800 and I needed to leave it with him for two days, but they were ready to start now (what happened to being busy). Pressing for details, I was told that my brakes (replaced 10,000 miles ago at another Pepboys) we're worn out ($250), I needed new engine mounts ($480) and that my entire suspension needed to be replaced. I told him I couldn't leave it with him, and I would have to think about that money, to which he implied that my car was so unsafe that I shouldn't even drive home. I decided that since the brakes were supposedly bad I would try to get a second opinion from the original Pepboys. Long story made short after some fantastic service that I've written about on their page, everything was fixed by spending $220 on replacing my engine mounts. I have come here for years and can't say enough about Jared P and Pk, these guys are tremendous... But it is hit or miss with everyone else... Last time I was there, I was given a price and then later that price almost doubled. When I asked why the elevated price? I was told.."If you add this and this it equals THIS.. If you can't figure that out... IT'S YOUR PROBLEM". This was not the first time that they have offended me either. Today I went in (3 hours ago) with a violently shaking vehicle...I came in cause I trusted them.. Rashad said it could be your alternator, spark plugs etc but your BATTERY IS Bad! We can replace it for $200 something.. So, knowing it was under warranty..I waited 90 minutes for AAA . They came and said Your battery is fine and working well! There is nothing wrong with your alternator either..So I almost paid $200 plus just for a battery I DIDN'T NEED... Rashad said "It could be so many things and a diagnostic will have to be done. There is no guarantee". I know that but still.... They keep adding cost and repair. I went around the corner to another repair shop.. They ALSO Said.. Battery, alternator, spark plugs are fine and Pep Boys doesn't know $&#@.. I guess I should have seen the red flags. When I came in I heard them talking about clearing or making like 7000.00 this month.. Funny, I went in because I trusted them and have for years and Rashad said after my last terrible experience.."Next time you come in..I will take care of you.. So find me". I did just that.. Apparently, taking "Care of me" means charging me for a $200 battery I don't need...Wow.. Walmart and AAA doesn't even charge that much. I still respect PK and Jared P but the others don't care and will take advantage of you regardless. I know this confidently as every time I have went in there it $1000 this or $1000 that. Pep Boys is just a great company, they stand by their promises more than any other car company I've had to deal with. My primary experience with them was when it came time to replace my tires and we shopped around for the best deal and found it here! I got the road hazard warranty and since then I've had to use it twice! Both times I didn't have any issues with them, they were courteous and polite and relatively quick for car service! They just lose a star because they have the worst waiting room! Uncomfortable chairs, no coffee/drinks, the Wi-Fi doesn't really work, and I can't even recall if they had a TV or anything. When you're having to wait for an extended period it would be nice for them to spend a little money on making it a decent waiting room. But I'm probably just being whiny!!! read more

Helped me with parts in efficient way possible.I always had issues with Pepboys(California) for not using parts to get work done from Pepboys store(if we buy the parts seperately) .He helped me close the gap forever. I was clearly explained, pepboys shop can get the work done if i purchase the parts seperately(@pep boys store) but lose the warranty on service. Backed it buy a service quote from his team. A check engine light came up on my car. I looked online and found out Pep Boys offered a free code reading service. So I went and that's what they gave me-the codes and nothing more. They wouldn't look up the codes and tell me what they meant or even give me a worst case scenario possible estimate. I know that the codes are only a starting point, and that they would need to perform a full diagnostic service to tell me what is actually wrong. But I'm on a limited budget. I'd like a ballpark estimate of what services these codes might indicate. How else am I supposed to comparison shop? Even AutoZone, which is only a parts store, will give you a printout of what the codes mean. I might be forced to use this Pep Boys location at some point. But that's the only time in the future you'll ever find me here. read more

After completely losing faith and patience with the service department where I bought my civic, I took my car into a nearby pep boys for an oil change and rotation. I asked them to put in Mobil 1. When I got home, i read the cash register slip, where it said the installed a $3.29 oil filter. I called them and asked why but they didn't really have an answer. They did offer to replace the cheapp filter with a Mobil 1 filter but I can't really be sure they did unless I take the belly pan off and look. An appointment was set Thursday night for Sunday afternoon online for tires the location noted as available. Walked in and waited 5 min or so to an unmanned front station. Informed man that I had a 3 o'clock appointment and he (pleasant but notably already determined he wasn't going to accept my appointment) immediately said I can't do anything today because I have four in front of you. I said but I have and he cut me off and said even with an appointment because the system doesn't take into consideration that we are busy. He went on to say especially online the system doesn't let us know. Then he offered an appointment for tomorrow but then said I don't even have the tires you need, those have been discontinued. So I said forget it and walked out. Pep boys Lewisville, which is our usual place to go, is either closed or being remodeled, but we've never had this issue. It appears to be a local store issue that is not managed and is disorganized, living in the stone ages not utilizing a component of technology that is useful to those who plan ahead.
