Tire so wore down that shows the metal wire under the rubber

Horrible. No vengan. Do not come. Venden llantas sabiendo que están malas, llantas que ponen en peligro su vehículo y a usted. Vayan a cualquier otra llantera porque está los va a estafar de seguro. They sell tires that are dangerous for you and your car. Go to any other tire shop because this one is going to scam you for sure.

Great tires for a great price. Tires are used but will last a very long time. Very much worth it and process is fast.

Montoya's Tire Shop - Before I went to the tire shop

Montoya's Tire Shop

(87 reviews)

My 2004 Tahoe Michelin-brand, light-truck tire was slowly leaking air from a previously…read moreself-installed "rope plug." A nuisance leak, requiring an air-up every one (1) week, no other big-box store would touch it, citing the "liability" of repairing a previous repair, especially a repair where a rope plug might have allowed rusting on the steel cords. In fact, Firestone on Rosemeade more specifically advised that they are to allowed to repair puncture damage within 12" of a rope plug. Go figure, more tire sales. Montoya's came through with excellent service, and just a slight room for improvement Initially, I had to show the young man where the lift point was on the Tahoe, not under the shock mount but along and under the frame rail, just forward of the rear wheel. They lifted the truck and removed the wheel from the wheel studs with no damage. The initial estimate was $20 for one plug. The water-dip tank revealed several leaks. Dismounting the tire, we found two (2) rope plugs and two (2) nails on the inside of the tread area. I had them plug all four (4) for $50. (Kinda $teep but it's a $200 Michelin with about 50% tread-life left, so it's still a good value, especially considering that those "pussy-ass" big shops won't perform this service.) Montoya's men prepared the tire by removing the foreign objects, power-reaming the holes, grinding the interior surface, chemically treating and scraping the rubber, applying rubber cement and then installing patch-plugs. (The patch plug is a combination of interior flat patch and plug, pulled through the tread from the inside.) All observations suggest very long-lasting repairs of all four punctures After the repairs, the tire was remounted and tested for leaks. Remounting the wheel was a little wonky; the technician did hand-thread all six (6) lug nuts to about 10 turns, thereby ensuring no cross-threading of the lugs on the wheel studs. But then he began to tighten all lug nuts in a circular pattern, a big no-no for wheel centering. I was able to stop him in time to summon the senior technician who, in broken English instructed the younger man to tic-tak (or star-cross torque pattern.) The senior tech took over and was prepared to tighten my wheel nuts to only 75 ft-lbs, but I instructed him that GM requires 140 ft-lbs. He was a bit incredulous, but complied with my technically-correct and learned request. Being in the service bay, along side with the younger me afforded me, a senior technician, the opportunity to observe the excellent workmanship and correct the minor procedural defects which could have caused damage to the shock mount, wheel studs or rim. Mr. Montoya, please instruct all your young men as to the correct torque pattern and tightness and you get 100% customer satisfaction. Hard workers with good attitudes, they seemed gracious and glad to help me with this repair. I am very happy to have visited Montoya's!

North Dallas

I'm not from Dallas so I looked up tire service near me. R&S was close and had good reviews. The place looked a little rough but again the reviews were highly favorable. Long story short, they were great. Quick and friendly and a simple fix and no cost. Wow! I'm a believer. Will tell my family to trust these guys with their car repair needs!

I have been to this shop a couple times, so when my sister got a flat, I sent her here. I would…read morehave never imagined the nightmare that followed. They sold us a used tire that was in NO condition to be on the road. I've purchased used tires before, and they've NEVER had holes or tears in them. Once the used tire was installed, my sister noticed the air pressure symbol light up on the dashboard. Before leaving, she asked them to take a second look at it. They told us it was fine and the light would turn off once we started driving. This was not the case. The tire they installed went flat within 8 hours, to no one's surprise. We called the next day and were told to bring the car back to the shop. The only problem? The car was NOT DRIVEABLE. The tire was so low that we risked damaging our car by even moving it. The manager, Junior, advised us to still drive on it. According to him, they've advised customers to drive on flats before, all the way from Denton to Dallas. Before trying to drive anywhere, we attempted to replace the tire with the spare, but the lugs were placed on too tight. Upon closer inspection, we saw multiple large holes and tears in the tire. According to their manager, Junior, it's standard to test tires before placing them on the car. It's clear this tire was not tested prior to being installed. On top of this, they ignored concerns about the tire pressure light being on after they installed the new tire, further endangering my sisters saftey. If they had taken the time to double check their work, it would have saved us the time and worry. We ended up having to stop at another mechanic on the way, since we were fearful we would not make it to the shop in one piece. The mechanics there were very friendly, changed our tire free of charge, and let us know we should not have been driving on it. When we finally made it to the shop, the employees realized they did not have any more used tires in our size. This begs the question- did R&S knowingly provide us a faulty tire, just to make a sale? The tire they sold us was the last one in that size. To top all of this off, I received the worst customer service of my life from Junior (manager) and the owner, Khalid. Junior was callous in his approach, did not have any empathy, and seemed unbothered at the severity of the situation. He rudely suggested we go to another mechanic down the street, despite fault clearly lying with R&S tires and wheels. We voiced our disappointment and intention to file a complaint with the BBB. When we finally reached a resolution of getting a new tire in the correct size, the owner, Khalid, sent us disparaging and unprofessional texts after we left the shop, further displaying R&S Tires' unprofessional business practices and horrible customer service. As you can read from other reviews on Google, R&S Tires does not uphold customer safety. Please save yourself the headache and pick ANY other mechanic shop in the area. You'll be thankful you did!

I reached out to Wheel Repair Solutions because my front tire hit a huge pothole on the freeway causing my Lexus rim to be bent. Christian was the senior technician that spoke to me about my factory rim and the damage from the pothole. He fixed the rim and it was better than new. It looked beautiful and perfect. When I took the rim to get the tire mounted I discovered small pin hole air bubbles coming from the rim during the water test. I took the Lexus rim back and Christian worked on it again. After the welding we discovered that the entire wheel was completely compromised from the high speed impact from the road hazard. Christian wanted to continue to work on the rim, but at this point I said safety would be to just give up on the rims integrity. The team at Wheel Repair Solutions kindly refunded my money. After all the worked they did I was happy with their efforts. This gesture was above and beyond. I was so grateful. Thank you so very much. I will forever refer all friends and family to your business.
