I've had 2 encounters with Discount Plumbing this week. On Sunday my main line backed up and nothing would drain. The phone call to request service was professional and Erick came out and was able to find the issue (it was with the septic tank) and fix the issue well enough for me to use the plumbing overnight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]John came out to give me an estimate on repairs. Without testing the leach line he said that is what failed and estimated 10k to repair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I need a septic system so I trusted him and gave a 1k deposit to schedule the work. I was able to get in contact with the company that installed the system. They came out tested the leach said it was fine and found a pipe had sunk with the dirt setting around it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to cancel the service at 7 am the next day and was told they would not return my deposit, they had already purchased materials for my job. After I stated I wanted all items that have been purchased, they agreed to refund all but $300.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If John had tested the leach line he would have seen it was fine but then he wouldn't have been able to almost schedule a 10k unnecessary job. He is very efficient to address the problem about upstair toilet issue and water damage onto 1st floor ceiling. He quickly tested where water leakage and fixed that toilet. He replaced a wax ring. He then fixed the other toilet of the flap and fluid master. Both issues were done quickly. We then asked him to look at our garbage disposal. He attempted to savage our garbage disposal but could not. He offered a new garbage disposal and installed it on the same day. All of the tasks he completed in about 2 hrs. This was the third and final toilet we had them Replace. We bought our toilets from Costco and Home Depot and every one of them they have been able to install quickly and efficiently. I called them and they were here the next day and they even called and asked if they could come early. They did the work quickly efficiently and cleaned up after. Made sure it was flushing correctly. And told us if there were any issues to call them back. So far no issues. We also had a kitchen faucet installed by them a few years ago which has never given us a problem and they replaced an extremely stubborn shower faucet for us that had become seized up. We had issues where water to both of the bathrooms nearly stopped and an orange residue (beads) started coming out. We called Discount Plumbing and we had an appt scheduled the following day. Kyle was the Plumber who came out. He was amazing! Very friendly and professional. He was able to quickly assess and pinpoint the problem and within about an hour everything was restored to good working order. It ended up being the result of an old water softener that we had never used. It was unplugged but Kyle said water still ran through it and plugged all of the faucets. Toilet in master bedroom clogged so we decided to give Discount Plumbing another try. So glad we did! They sent Kenneth who as it turns out was the original plumber who came to help us out the first time we called Discount Plumbing a year ago. He snaked our toilet, removing some tree roots plugging up our drain, determined that we had two separate sewer lines which each need to be treated for roots, and gave recommendations on how to do it. Not worth even calling out for an estimate. Time is money and this place isn't worth your time or money. Stay far away from the shady business practices. It's obvious the business owner is going to downplay their role in this to make this business seem legitimate so I'll elaborate. I was more than willing to spend whatever it took to get the job done. I'm glad their estimate was free because it wasn't worth anything more. The "plumber" came in and assessed the job (plumb a sink and plumb a tub/shower combo) he then said that he doesn't do these type of jobs and that they are "emergency plumbers" he said the job would typically cost $600-$700 but with their company's it would be $900 (still in the hundreds of dollars range as the owner says) because they charge more for emergencies. He ultimately stated he could not do the job because they don't do remodels (which is stated on their telephone ads and websites that they do) and it would take up too much of his time and he could be going to multiple service calls instead. It seems to me they need to hire adequate staff instead of trying to cover up for them via telephone or yelp. The job only took one hour from a different reputable company and regardless of what I was willing to pay it only actually cost $150 for a $45 estimate which was rolled into a one hour service fee. The owner is throwing around free estimate this, free estimate that , oh I'm sorry you didn't like your "free" estimate. Free has nothing to do with your services or ability to function as a company and you are clearly lacking on both. read more

This company stands by their work. They did a major re-piping job for us a little over 4 years ago.. Long story short our built-in frig was replaced and we found out that water line to frig was somehow missed in the re-piping. Frank came by from Discount Plumbing to do the work. He was funny and personable. Didn't take him no longer than maybe 1 1/2 hours. I don't mind paying for labor as all plumbers are roughly the same price. I need some re-plumbing along with a new garbage disposal. The garbage disposal I could of replaced myself but they included the price of a new disposal into the quote. My issue is that for $249, this disposal better be top of the line but it wasn't. It was an off brand named Standard, not American Standard. Just Standard. For $200 I could of bought a 3/4 HP Whirlpool disposal. A brand I like and a brand that all our appliances are. One could even find a 1/2 HP InSinkErator Badger for $75. This is my fault, should of purchased a disposal beforehand so I can take blame for this. At least I would of liked an option but I know that the markup is high if they provide their own. read more

Just wrapped up a repair from DP and I am pleased to say I am VERY happy with my results. The sink was leaking from the garbage disposal last night; I called and asked for availability. Now it's worth mentioning, DP does offer 24 hour services, however if it's a sort of "after hours" issue, it DOES cost more to get someone out there. I opted to get the next available daytime slot, 12pm-2pm. I can only imagine today was busy for them, as the repair worker arrived around 2:20 pm, give or take, BUT the company was considerate enough to gall me around 1:45 pm to let me know things were running a bit behind. I understand that these things happen SO often in repair and maintenance fields, so I'm not going to ding them for running a little late, especially with the courtesy call. Danny was the assigned repair guy, and I gotta give him a big shout out for being a genuinely friendly person and efficient worker. It was the garbage disposal that was bad, and thank goodness they offer that service to replace those! He quoted me my options - either I supply the disposal and the charge is $149, or they supply and install for $249. The best part? He was not at all pushy with the sale, but rather very sympathetic of my situation and the cost. Basically, he didn't make me feel like I was just another dollar to be made, but an actual person with a real issue that needed help. And THAT is a quality I can appreciate more than anything. So long story short, I went ahead with the supply and install on the spot since I do use the kitchen sink and garbage disposal every day, and was VERY pleased with the price as well as the service. I'll absolutely consider Discount Plumbing in the future after this experience! Especially now that I know they do heating and air!
