My AC went out and I needed a second opinion because another tech I called couldn't find the problem and charged me $100 plus suggested I buy a new fan for $1000. Scott was amazing and found the problem right away. The wires were twisted at the bottom of the unit. He explained in detail about the unit and also spent a lot of time throughly cleaning it at my request because it's right next to the dryer vent and we have a lot of debris and dirt from our trees. Initial service fee $50 just to check condenser unit. Asked him to check evaporator in the attic said it'll cost $200 to go up there. Had to do it because weather called for a hot week. Didn't even bother putting on booties when he went inside the house. Asked him for discount and he wouldn't budge saying he was even telling his wife that he should increase his fees. Our thermostat at home stopped working in January. I've had one really good experience and two bad experiences with Nest Thermostats being installed at my company's offices. But the one good experience was compelling enough for me to want one at home. I just needed some professional advice because I really wasn't sure about the c-wire. I reached out to Airway Heating and Air Conditioning after reading all the great reviews. Scott responded right away and we talked about all the specifics over the phone. I wasn't quite ready to schedule an appointment at the time because I was going out of town and I hadn't purchased the Nest Thermostat yet. But I knew from the phone call that I didn't need to reach out to any other HVAC company. I finally ordered it and reached out to Scott when it arrived yesterday to have him install it. Again, he responded right away, and scheduled the appointment for this morning. Scott arrived on time, and lucky for us, was able to find the c-wire bundled with the other wires in the wall. Our unit in the attic is 22 years old, and there was a little hesitation on whether the Nest Thermostat would be compatible with our specific unit. Apparently, it was the one and only type on which Scott had not attempted to install a Nest Thermostat. He was very honest about the situation. I'm so glad he took the time to call a colleague, talk it over, confirm his thoughts, then explain it to me so that I could make an informed decision! In fact, I really appreciated that he explained everything and kept me informed the entire time. I learned a lot today! Everything went smoothly, and Scott gave me plenty of advice on do's and don'ts, for which I am very grateful! With inflation and the cost of living these days, it seems nearly impossible to find such a pro at such reasonable prices. I am so impressed to find a really honest and detailed professional. The initial call took place Wednesday for scheduling, and the service was completed Monday. I really appreciated the reminder call the day before and the call to let me know he was on the way. Scott really took his time with the service maintenance - checking connections, cleaning the unit, and testing the thermostat. He even patiently explained the different parts and how they worked. The entire appt took about an hour. I mistakenly believed that preventative maintenance was required biannual. Scott honestly replied that annual PM is sufficient. I woke up to a very cold house and realized that our heater was turning on and off, but we weren't getting any warm air. As I pictured my Christmas being ruined by a huge charge or a potential heater replacement, I reached out to Airway Heating & Air Conditioning to set up an appointment to see how screwed I was going to be. This was on a Sunday, and news was already reporting a freeze warning for that night, so I envisioned another cold night and maybe an appointment a few days from Sunday as a best possible scenario. Much to my surprise, Scott offered a same day (on a Sunday!) appointment and was literally at my house within 2 hours of us calling the business. To say he's responsive is a huge understatement. Scott was extremely friendly and personable, and provided very quick service. Much to our delight, the problem was simply a bad capacitor for the blower and within 20 minutes Scott had our heater pumping out hot air again. He also provided a 1-year warranty for the work on the capacitor. Scott's services were quite reasonable, given how quickly he responded and we were very happy with the end result. If you're in a pinch and need someone quick, Airway Heating & Air Conditioning just may be your people. Even if you're not in a bind, he's still a wonderful guy and provides a great service. I'd absolutely recommend Airway for any heating or cooling needs and plan on reaching back out to them in the spring so we can get an A/C tune up prior to the next summer. Just bought this house September 2024 & seems like system after system is breaking down. Xmas holiday with a full house & no heat. Scott showed up right at 9am the day after I called & troubleshooted & corrected for several different issues. One Nest thermostat rewire, new circuit board, new piece to cover space gap around filter, new wire connections for virtually everything and we again have heat! He even returned within an hour when the unit kicked off, to pinch fuel valve to burners and didn't charge me any extra. I want to say that Scott no longer sells ACs, and strictly does repairs only. So rest assured, he's not trying to sell you a new system. He's honest and will fix it if he can because, let's be honest, that's how he makes his money is by repairing your system. Scott did a fantastic job on my mom's AC, that I wanted him to come check out ours too which was not cooling. He was able to repair my mom's AC. A couple days later he came out to our home and I hoped the repair would be just as easy. It was not. He tried for almost 2 hours on our Rheem and let us observe as he worked and entertained our questions. Scott honestly tried everything possible to fix ours and find the root of the problem. I needed my thermostat replaced; I had been without heat for 4 days. I originally called the company that replaced my furnace 4 months ago. When I called, I told them I had bought a thermostat and needed it installed. When they arrived, they wouldn't install it unless I bought it from them and then charged me for coming out. Just had a maintance done on my Air Conditoner, Scott called me about 15 minutes of his arrival which I liked. He changed my filter, did my the inspection on the unit at a good price and even rolled up my garden hose after he used it. He gave me some advice on my air conditioner, which I appreciated. So grateful for Scott! Our heater stopped working today (a Saturday of a holiday weekend). He explained what he was going to do and as he was working he was explaining as he went along. He diagnosed the issues proceeded to ensure my air conditioner units was satisfactory. He gave a few pointers as to maintaining my unit. The work performed and the change was very reasonable - Scott is easy to speak with and he demonstrated integrity every step of the way. I have dealt with many HVAC companies and service technician and usually I get the feeling they are trying to sell me something. Either a new unit or service or additional areas that they indicate is in need of service. With Scott he was not the " slickly- Guy" sales men which I appreciate. The next day I was having issue - called Scott and he came over and made some very minor adjustments and told me no charge.
