This year in May we scheduled AC tune ups on two homes and we requested Alans service. The appointment w/Alan was confirmed. Both homes scheduled time away from work for the appointment. On the appointment date Climate Care canceled the appointments because they had re-assigned Alan to another job. Two families lost time and money because our appointments weren't as important to Climate Care. We know what our value is to Climate Care. We had a whole house fan installed 1 - 2 years ago. Alan Corona was extremely thorough, he was here for hours checking everything cleaning my filters and air conditioner. He showed me photos of all of the numbers he got without me asking. SCAM!! Ivan Lupian is a scam artist, do not trust him or let him near your unit! It began with Climate Care calling and wanting to set up an appt for a tuneup ($59) cost. I explained that due to financial concerns I could not afford it, at which time the team then offered me a free courtesy appt. (This was the first red flag but I didn't see it then). They would have taken my appt fee of $59 had I let them. The day of my appointment, Ivan pulls up to inspect my unit. He takes pictures, shares his findings, only to report a list of items that needed to be replaced (exchange unit, control board, inducer, compressor) totalling $4,200. Ivan then tries to convince me that if I were to replace these parts, I may still encounter problems with other parts due to the age of the unit. After sensing that I was worried and fearful from his report, he stepped up his game and gave me another option - purchase a new unit ($20k), OR option 2, he offered me another unit that he had just been removed from an apartment complex (1-day old) that has the same "foot print" as mine and he would sell it to me with install for ($16k) and 20-year warranty. As if this wasn't enough bad news for one day - Ivan didn't give up. He continued to pretend as though he was concerned and recommend I no longer use my current unit. He repeatedly told me not to turn it on! He claimed to be highly trained, and warned me that if my exchange unit broke it could leak harmful/fatal emissions into the house. Scare tactic is what I call it. I explain to Ivan that I would not be making any decisions today, as I need to get a second opinion. When I mentioned a second opinion he then told me that he will match any price if I found a better deal. I have to give it to him - he really tried hard to pitch a sale. Fortunately for me I learned a long time ago NOT to make big ticketed purchases when feeling pressured and before getting second opinion. I got my second opinion, and guess what, there is absolutely nothing wrong with my exchange unit, control board, compressor or inducer - NOTHING! My unit has been working fine and is safe to use. I believe that the pictures Ivan showed me are not from my unit and this is FRAUD people. The second inspector told me that by law if there was a concern of a leak the technician is required to shut down my unit. The fact my unit was not shut down is proof that Ivan used this as a scare tactic to get me to purchase a unit (total deception). Lastly, I will be calling BBB and telling them about my experience. I gave climate care an opportunity to call me, but they never did. I called the office several times and asked to speak with the owner. Each time I was told they were not available. I then asked to speak with a manager and was patched through to Barbara. I provided Barbara with a detailed explanation of how I was treated by Ivan. I also asked to be reimbursed the $85 that I had to put out for a second opinion. I did not receive a call back from any of the three owners. I called again and a spoke to Barbara who told me she gave the info to the owner twice. Still no return call. This tells me the owners are aware of how their highest trained technician (Ivan) operates and they allow such behavior. I cannot speak for the other technicians, but if Climate Care is operating on deception to their customers then shame on you. This is one person that didn't let you scam them. However, there are a lot of people out there barely making ends meet. For you to come into their homes, lie to them, and put them in debt, is just plain evil. read more

I had my annual maintenance on my HVAC unit & wall unit in my garage. Jose contacted me an hour prior to his arrival and actually arrived a bit earlier. Jose checked my filters, ran tests on both heat/air & cleaned up the HVAC unit. He also cleaned all filters in the wall unit, they were pretty disgusting it now looks brand new & what a difference in air flow!!! He also showed me how to clean those filters so I can do preventative maintenance every 3-4 months....Nice work Jose!!! read more

Great service.. we got a whole house fan installed with climate care. The installation was smooth and the technician came on time and did a great job. Few days later the fan stopped working and climate care sent a technician ( Juan Garcia) in an hour. He checked and confirmed it was a defective quitecool fan motor and needs to be replaced. Juan took the fan motor, filed a claim with Quitecool on the same day. In a week, he came and installed the new motor. Electrical appliances do tend to get faulty and what really matters is if your contractor/installer support you during that time. Climate care and Juan were there to help me fix it quickly. I requested someone to come look at my ac ducts because I assumed there was a leak somewhere. My ac unit was blowing and blowing cold, but I wasn't getting enough air into the house. The technician came out and then refused to go underneath the house and told me that the entire duct system needed to be replaced. They charged me 69 dollars for doing absolutely nothing. I ended up going under the house myself and was able to find the leak, which was a giant hole, caused by the previous owner's terrible patch. I fixed it myself for about 20 dollars. I'll give this company props. They are professional and reliable. We had our ac replaced by them a few years back. It wasn't the cheapest quote, but seemed reputable and the stand by their work. My issue is with their pricing for service and parts. Our unit was still under warranty so we weren't charged for the service call or diagnosis when our ac stopped cooling. I was told it was a bad capacitor and not covered by the warranty. It would likely cost $350ish. When he looked, he confirmed it was the capacitor, but said it was a larger one, which cost roughly $485. I looked up the part and I could get the same one for $25 or $30 online. Or an off brand one for less than $20. The size doesn't change the price by more than a couple bucks. I understand an up charge, but charging $450 extra is way too much. Even considering time, gas, overhead, and convenience. I wound up buying a capacitor for $18 and installing it myself in 5 or 10 mins. read more

I had high hopes for this company and initially believed they deserved a 5-star rating, but I ended up feeling like I was manipulated into a purchase with good "sales tactics" so that is why I gave 2-stars instead. I spent two months shopping around for a new AC unit after my upstairs unit broke durning this horrible heat wave. I was taking my time because It is such a big purchase and I wanted to get right company and of course right price. It wasn't until downstairs unit broke that pushed us to get new AC quickly. I Had meticulously been gathering quotes from 5 companies to ensure I made the right choice. I was looking for a honest company who valued customers to give good service. Ricardo's knowledge and charm convinced me Climate Care was the company I was hoping for; however, I think I made a mistake and should have asked more questions before going with them. He inspected old units to see if they were repairable. Upstairs was big repair but luckily downstairs was easy fix and he replaced capacitor so we could at least have 1 unit work but we knew units were 20 years old and needed to be replaced. What impressed me was the gesture of him trying to help it felt so refreshing so by the end of the consultation I locked in installation and paid in full. Sadly we encountered issues even before installation but I still felt this was a valued company so I stuck with company thinking they genuinely cared about their customers so we are in good hands. The problems started within hour when I was advised I had been quoted incorrectly. I paid in full thinking quote covered both new units, installation, permits, sealing our ducts and even a home purifier. Other quotes added a whole house fan without us even knowing it was added to quote but until Ricardo educated us on differences we had no idea the value of whole house fan vs purifier and none of the other companies took time to see if we wanted fan they just added in quote. My family has health issues and fan was bad idea for someone with allergies and asthma so another reason Ricardo stood out! Despite the price being $2500 higher than my alternative option, which offered the exact same services, I chose Climate Care, confident that they justified the additional expense because of quality. Then came the 1st shock within hour of paying in full: a call requesting an additional $2k for permits due to a misquote. Confused because I thoughts permits were the law not options , I spent all weekend trying to consult with local realtors and the city to see if I could save that money and finally discovered permits were optional, merely verifying the installation quality and since I felt I went with such a prestigious company I wasn't worried about quality. I felt so comfortable with the team that I decided against paying the extra $2k for permits. Despite a few hiccups, Joel and Poncho did an excellent job with the installation. Just for their work I would give 5-stars even with issues with install and not having new unit work after day 1. Apparently our plug was blown which was only reason nothing was working. He fixed plug the next day but found out our old units weren't broken after all and all we needed was a new plug this whole time! Such a easy fix that none of the 6 companies that came out found. instead of buying new units we could have just fixed a $10 plug but oh well at least Joel found issue and fixed. My disappointment grew though when I realized the so-called "home purifier" that was added instead of getting a "whole-house fan" was only for upstairs instead of the whole house. If I wanted whole house that would be another $2k. It's frustrating how companies manipulate words to trap customers, leaving us feeling cornered and thinking we are getting the obvious. Why would I ever think home purifier is only to half house! How is that beneficial or logical. I hope I didn't make a mistake choosing this company. If I've learned anything, it's the importance of getting clear details from the company about everything even , down to the smallest features included. Even things you think might be obvious. Our hard-earned money shouldn't be swayed by clever wording that leaves us feeling uneasy. Just some advice to others... ask more questions even when you think it is obvious answers.
